Soldiers have told of the horrific torture meted out by terrorists in the Nairobi mall massacre yesterday as the first pictures of inside the centre have emerged

Soldiers told of the horrific torture meted out by terrorists in the Nairobi mall massacre yesterday with claims hostages were dismembered, had their eyes gouged out and were left hanging from hooks in the ceiling.

Men were said to have been castrated and had fingers removed with pliers before being blinded and hanged.

Children were found dead in the food court fridges with knives still embedded in their bodies, it was claimed.

Most of the defeated terrorists, meanwhile, were reportedly discovered ‘burnt to ashes’, set alight by the last extremist standing to try to protect their identities.

The horrifying details came yesterday as the first pictures emerged from within the wreckage of the building, showing piles of bodies left strewn across the floor.

A third of the mall was destroyed in the battle between terrorists and Kenyan troops.

Lying in the rubble are feared to be the bodies of as many as 71 civilians who have been declared missing by the Kenyan Red Cross.

With detectives, including the FBI and the Metropolitan Police, still unable to reach the wrecked part of the mall for fear of setting off explosives, it could take up to a week to determine exactly who is still inside.

  3. some have commented on fighting to the end, rather than being tortured and killed. This is a choice you have to make before it happens, whether to be allowed to be tied up “Trust me, we’re good guys, we’ll let you go,” or just risk it and go for broke, at the least taking a few or more of them with you. You also have to remember the other innocent bystanders. Should you fight or just allow everyone to be tied up? That is the choice whether you want to place you destiny in their hands. It’s an easier answer if there’s no other innocents involved. Some have commented on the good guys who came in with their own personal or official weapons and helped people escape, so there’s the weapon factor, too. There were from 10 to 15 cowards with hand weapons and grenades. One can’t guarantee anything, but what would happen if a significant number of the innocents had fought back? Again, this is mental preparation, and the first rule that must be broken in the mind is “This can’t be happening!” and one freezes. After the school shootings of a few yeas ago, several schools were teaching teachers and class to act and move if a gunman (gunmen) appeared, and to throw everything not bolted down at them. This is of course not the choice for “Well, maybe they just want to negotiate.” As soon as a gun appears, they are (hopefully) taught not to wait until the barrel is up and aimed. Why not just attack before the barrel is up? This is why training involved always watching the hands. These stories of torture cannot be discounted, I assume at this time, because several sources are reporting them. I also question, surely the screams would’ve reverberated throughout the buildings, and why didn’t the authorities move in? Perhaps we’ll know from witnesses on the police side. This is, of course, armchair coaching; I wasn’t there, I’m just wondering what really happened, and brainstorming what could have been the responses of the authorities. If hostages are not being harmed, then I can understand the option of time / patience. But once you know they are being killed, tortured, then what is the point of standing down? Speaking of authorities, our own government and other ‘powers’ have known for years the location of major training camps for these ______________ (fill it in). Many high level and truly top operators would destroy these camps in a heartbeat, but they’re hogtied by their politicos. For one thing, it takes millions just to launch a medium size strike. I don’t say you can wipe all the camps out, but you can wipe out the ones you know. The teaching now is to counter-T, when some advocates say anti-T; attack them first, and not react to their first move.
