US Syrian Foundation Tied To Muslim Brotherhood/Hamas Sponsors US Tour Of Controversial Sheikh

By :

Two US organizations tied to the Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas support infrastructure are sponsoring the US tour of a controversial Syrian cleric who once called for suicide bombings against civilians in Israel and for the death penalty for homosexuals. According to an announcement on the website of the Texas-based Shaam Relief Foundation:

Shaam Relief Foundation in cooperation with the Syrian American Council is pleased to announce that Dr. Mohamad Rateb Al-Nabulsi will be touring the US supporting the cause of the Syrian people. The nationwide tour will start in January 2014 until early February ….

The announcement goes on to list seventeen US cities where Dr. Al-Nabulsi will be visiting. According to an online biography (edited for brevity):

logoDr. Al-Nabulsi was educated first in Syria and later received a Ph.D. in education from “Dublin University” where his Ph.D. thesis was entitled “Education of Children in Islam”. In 1974, he was appointed orator in the mosque of his grandfather, tSheikh Abdulghani An-Nabulsi, and a religion lecturer in the mosques of Damascus; and he has been orating and teaching in An-Nabulsi mosque, and also in other mosques. ke was also appointed member of several committees setup by the Ministry of Awqaf. The Minister of Awqaf issued an order whereby he appointed him as one of the orators of the Umayyad Mosque in Damascus, and a religious teacher in it. He has written a number of Islamic books, most remarkable of which are: “Encyclopedia of the Beautiful Names of Allah”, “Encyclopedia of Scientific Miracles of the Holy Quran and Prophetic Sunna”, “Outlooks on Islam”, “Contemplations on Islam”, among others. He also wrote articles for some Syrian, Arab, Islamic, and Western magazines and newspapers. He is married and has three daughters, all of whom are married. He also has two sons, the first of whom has a post-graduate degree in Business Administration from the USA, and the second works in the field of business and trading.

In April 2001, Dr. Al-Nabusi posted his thoughts on “martyrdom operations in Palestine” in which he writes that although he is not a mufti, he makes clear that he approves of the following rulings of religious scholars (translated from the Arabic):

  • That the bombing of the Muslim mujahideen themselves against the occupiers is a legitimate resistance, the greatest jihad in the cause of God.”
  • That suicide bombings are also acceptable in Islamic countries “under occupation.”
  • That Jews are the “most inferior and most evil of peoples and the greatest enemies of Allah and of Islam and its people.”

Dr. Al-Nabusi also writes that there is no such thing as an Israeli civilian and that as such, all Israelis are legitimate targets of suicide attacks which, in his opinion, should be called ““martyrdom operations” in line with rulings by Global Muslim Brotherhood leader Youssef Qaradawi.

By gmbwatch:

The Point de Bascule blog has posted an exhaustive analysis documenting the clear and unambiguous relationship between the the US and Canadian branches of the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR), a relationship recently denied by CAIR-Canada. The report begins:

logoOn July 6, 2013, CAIR-CAN issued a press release announcing that the organization will now be known as the National Council of Canadian Muslims (Conseil national des musulmans canadiens in French).

Removing all allusions to CAIR in its name helps the newly renamed Council cover its links with the Washington-based / Hamas-linked organization. The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) was founded in 1994 by three leaders of the Islamic Association of Palestine (IAP), a Hamas front in the United States at the time.

According to its charter (article 2), Hamas is the branch of the Muslim Brotherhood in Gaza. In recent years (2008 – 2011 – 2012), its leaders have confirmed that the destruction of Israel is only a part of its program that aims at imposing Islam to the whole planet. In 2011, for example, Hamas leader Mahmoud Al-Zahhar said on TV that Western civilization ‘will not be able to withstand the great and glorious Islam.’

IAP appears in an annex of a 1991 Muslim Brotherhood’s internal memorandum listing the organizations associated with the Brotherhood in the United States. It is #22 on the list.

This memorandum was seized by police and produced for evidentiary purposes in two Holy Land Foundation trials that took place in the U.S. in 2007 and 2008. These trials led to the convictions of all leaders accused of terrorism financing.

At point 4 of the memorandum, the goal pursued by IAP and the other organizations belonging to the Muslim Brotherhood network in North America is described in no uncertain terms:

The Ikhwan (Muslim Brotherhood) must understand that their work in America is a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and ‘sabotaging’ its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and God’s religion is made victorious over all other religions… It is a Muslim’s destiny to perform Jihad and work wherever he is and wherever he lands until the final hour comes.’

At point 20 of this declaration of war, Jamal Badawi, is identified as a Muslim Brotherhood leader in North America. Badawi has been on CAIR-CAN’s board of administrators at least since 2004. On May 28, 2013, he was still listed on the organization’s board. Badawi is based in Halifax. He is also on the board of many other Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated organizations in Canada and in the United States.

In a 2004 text, Jamal Badawi wrote about the Muslim Brotherhood founder Hassan al-Banna (1906-1949) that ‘he has epitomized twentieth century Islamic thought and ideology.’ Al-Banna’s ideas are summarized in his 50-point manifesto. In it, al-Banna urged his supporters to abolish political parties and replace them by a single party system, he favoured the modification of laws so that they conform to sharia, he called for the multiplication of associations dedicated to promoting the spirit of jihad amongst the youth, etc.

Last month, the GMBDW reported that the Canadian Branch of the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) had announced that it had renamed itself as the National Council of Canadian Muslims (NCCM) as well as having changed its logo.

The Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) describes itself as “a grassroots civil rights and advocacy group and as “America’s largest Islamic civil liberties group.” CAIR was founded in 1994 by three officers of the Islamic Association of Palestine, part of the U.S. Hamas infrastructure at that time.  Documents discovered in the course of the the terrorism trial of the Holy Land Foundation confirmed that the founders and current leaders of CAIR were part of the Palestine Committee of the Muslim Brotherhood and that CAIR itself is part of the US. Muslim Brotherhood. In 2008, the then Deputy leader of the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood acknowledged a relationship between the Egyptian Brotherhood and CAIR.  In 2009, a US federal judge ruled ”The Government has produced ample evidence to establish the associations of CAIR, ISNA and NAIT with HLF, the Islamic Association for Palestine (“IAP”), and with Hamas. CAIR and it leaders have had a long history of defending individuals accused of terrorism by the US. government, often labeling such prosecutions a “war on Islam”, and have also been associated with Islamic fundamentalism and antisemitism. The organization is led by Nihad Awad, its longstanding Executive Director and one of the three original founders.

The most important leader of CAIR-Canada has been Jamal Badawi, also a leader in many of the most important Global Muslim Brotherhood organizations including the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR Canada), the Fiqh Council of North America, the Muslim American Society (MAS), the European Council for Fatwa and Research and the International Union of Muslim Scholars.  Documents released during the Holy Land Foundation terrorism financing trial indicate that Dr. Badawi was (and probably still is) a member of the leadership structure of the U.S. Muslim Brotherhood.

The Point de Bascule blog has also published a history of the legal battle between CAIR and ISNA to get the acronym CAIR as trade-mark in Canada.

Largest U.S. Muslim Group Features Terror in Flagship Publication

2422069_origBy Joe Kaufman:

The Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) is the largest Muslim organization in the United States and Canada. It encompasses youth movements — including the largest Islamic collegiate group, the Muslim Students Association (MSA) — as well as hundreds of mosques throughout North America.

ISNA issues a bi-monthly publication titled Islamic Horizons. At face value, the magazine seems innocuous. However, it is filled with features and advertisements linked to radical Islamic thought and activity.

A feature story from the January/February 2013 issue covers the life of Nihad Awad, and how he came to found the Council on American-Islamic Relations. CAIR was established as a part of an umbrella organization created by then-global head of Hamas, Mousa Abu Marzook. Awad founded CAIR with two others via the then-American Hamas propaganda wing [1], the Islamic Association for Palestine (IAP), in which Awad held a leadership position.

The article conveniently leaves out the associations with Hamas of Awad and CAIR.

Another story in the same issue promotes Siraj Wahhaj, the imam of Brooklyn’s al-Taqwa mosque. This is the same Siraj Wahhaj named by the U.S. government as an “unindicted co-conspirator” for a trial dealing with the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center, an act which resulted in the deaths of six innocent Americans. Wahhaj had been linked to the bombmaker of the attack [2], Clement Rodney Hampton-El, and during the trial he was a character witness for the spiritual leader of the attack — “Blind Sheikh” Omar Abdel Rahman — whom Wahhaj has openly praised.

Page 2 of last month’s issue of IH carried a full-page advertisement for Islamic Relief, asking readers to donate $10 for “Palestine emergency aid.” In May 2006, Israel labeled Islamic Relief a front for Hamas [3] after arresting the group’s Gaza program manager, Ayaz Ali, for providing “funds and assistance to various Hamas institutions and organizations.” Ali admitted that he had cooperated with local Hamas operatives.

Muslim American Society (MAS) and the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA) plan “Toward a Renaissance” convention

MAS-ICNAFlorida Family Association:

Two Muslim Brotherhood organizations and powerhouse Islamic groups that seek to Islamize America are holding a conference that is expected to draw 9,500 Muslims to Chicago during the week of Christmas.

The Muslim American Society (MAS) and the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA) are planning their convention titled “Toward a Renaissance:  believe, act & engage” December 21-25, 2012 at the Sheraton Downtown Chicago.   “Renaissance” means Islamist dogma based upon the conference statement “The Arab Spring associated with the Islamic Awakening in many parts of the Muslim world.”

Rick Ueno, General Manager of the Sheraton Downtown Chicago responded to Florida Family Association’s concerns regarding the convention on December 3, 2012. He wrote in part:  Please know that the Sheraton Chicago follows a non-discriminatory policy with regard to the booking of groups or events, and we intend to honor our commitment/contract for this event.  Mr. Ueno’s full email is posted at the end of this email.

There is no “non-discrimination” law or corporate policy which protects the anti-social behavior advocated by these organizations.  These groups espouse strong racism and anti-Semitism.  They advocate and lobby for Sharia law in America which is antithetical to the rights afforded all Americans under the United States Constitution.  They are associated with the Muslim Brotherhood and the entire jihad that is behind that organization.

Sadly, it appears that America hoteliers are not willing to offend Islamists but have no problem cancelling traditional America values conferences.  The Amerimar Enterprise owned Hutton Hotel canceled a pro-American, pro-Family groups’ Preserving Freedom Conference scheduled for November 11, 2011 that was designed to combat Sharia.  The Hutton Hotel cancelled the conference after receiving complaints from Islamists.  Amerimar Enterprise sided with Islamic extremists.

The Sheraton Downtown Chicago is owned by The Tishman Hotel Corporation which is headed by Daniel R. Tishman.

According to the Jewish Virtual Library “The Tishmans were prominent in Jewish philanthropies.   Among many campaigns, Alan Tishman was a vice president of UJA Federation of New York” and “Daniel was president of Israel Bonds’ Greater New York appeal.”

Given the Tishman family’s devotion to Israel and Judaism it is difficult to understand why The Tishman Hotel Corporation would allow the anti-Semitic, Hamas-linked, Muslim Brotherhood groups to hold a convention in their hotel.

According to the Anti-Defamation League:

MAS is closely allied with the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA), a Muslim community organization based in Jamaica, New York. While ICNA provides various educational programs and services to local Muslim communities, it has also promoted anti-Semitism and extremism.

MAS holds its annual conventions together with ICNA, drawing thousands of participants each year. These conventions have featured known anti-Semites and provided a platform for extremist rhetoric.

At their joint convention in Rosemont, Illinois, from December 23-27, 2010, several speakers made anti-Semitic and conspiratorial remarks, portraying Jews as a privileged group with undue power. During a panel about U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East sponsored by the anti-Israel group American Muslims for Palestine (AMP), Osama Abuirshaid, an AMP board member, said that the Jewish community is “revered in this country [the United States]” and spoke of “the Israel lobby” and its influence on the U.S. government. Abuirshaid asked, “How influential is this lobby in Washington?  This establishment is as committed to Israel as it is to America.”

Othman Atta, a frequent speaker at AMP events, claimed “U.S. politicians don’t have any concern for people in the Middle East, besides one group of people,” referring to the Jews. Atta then went on to lambaste Judaism, saying, “Theft, detention, denial of rights…this is all done in the name of the Jewish religion.” In front of an audience of hundreds, Atta delved into conspiracy theory, explaining that the perceived absence of WikiLeaks cables about Israel was a result of the documents being “censored by the media in the United States.” Three members of the fringe movement Neturei Karta, who regularly appear at anti-Israel and anti-Semitic events, also attended the 2010 MAS-ICNA convention.

One year earlier, at the MAS-ICNA joint convention in December 2009, religious scholars and political activists railed against Jews from both a political and theological standpoint. Rafiq Jaber, former President of the Islamic Association of Palestine, a Hamas-affiliated anti-Semitic propaganda organization, described Jews to the audience as “the worst kind of people,” who came to Jerusalem “with false pretenses.”

Another speaker, Hamed Ghazali, Chairman of the MAS Council of Islamic Schools and professor at the Islamic American University in Michigan, told convention participants in Arabic that “Allah gave us the Jews” as the primary historical and religious example of those who “take the wrong path.”

Sheikh Raghib Al Serjani, an author and physician from Egypt, declared in Arabic, “It is the duty for all Muslims to liberate all of Palestine from the North to the South, from Al Quds to the sea, it’s a duty for all Muslims to liberate one complete full land of Palestine… It’s not just about liberating Al Quds. It’s all occupied!”

MAS and ICNA sought to draw participants to the December 2009 convention by advertising two known anti-Semitic extremists from abroad as keynote speakers: Zaghloul Al Najjar, an Egyptian cleric who has described Jews as “devils in human form,” and Ra’ed Salah, leader of the Northern Branch of the Islamic Movement in Israel, who served jail time for financing Hamas.

Although neither of the advertised speakers attended the convention, Salah was clearly praised by several individuals who did speak at the event. Omar Abu Irshaid, editor of Al Meezan online publication, and former editor of the anti-Semitic publication linked to the Islamic Association of Palestine (IAP), referred to Salah as “our great Muslim sheikh” and said, “Sheikh Raed is far more knowledgeable and far more experienced. I wish he was here to speak instead of me.”

Anti-Semitic messages are not new to these organizations. At an MAS-ICNA strategy meeting in Chicago in June 2001, Zulfiqar Ali Shah, ICNA’s president at the time, stated: “If we are unable to stop the Jews now, their next stop is Yathrib [Saudi Arabia], where the Jews used to live until their expulsion by Prophet Muhammad.  That’s the pinnacle of their motives,” according to Islam Online, a Web-based publication connected to Sheik Yusuf Qaradawi.

MAS and ICNA have also worked with the North American branch of a radical anti-Semitic and anti-American Pakistani organization, Tanzeem-e-Islami, which operates in the U.S. under the name Islamic Organization of North America (IONA). MAS and ICNA leaders have attended IONA events. At IONA’s official launching event in June 2004, Dr. Souheil Ghannouchi, MAS executive director and former president, said “I don’t think there is any difference” between IONA and MAS ideology.

IONA has also distributed anti-Semitic literature, including a book that blames the Jews for spreading usury in order to advance various conspiracies against humanity.  The book, The Prohibition of Riba, reads: “Shylock, and the world of Shylocks, in real life today, are in control of the world economy and are constantly carving out their pound of flesh from the dying carcass of gentile humanity. The supreme Shylocks of today are the bankers, of whom Jewish bankers take pride of place, the International Monetary Fund and the world Bank, in which Jewish influence is significant, and the governments of the western world which today control the global economy, and in which Jews wield significant influence.”

Illinois Islamist Conference ‘Educates’ Next Generation

AMP’s Conference logo shows map of entire state of Israel. Possibly hinting at their aim to destroy the state?

By Ryan Mauro

American Muslims for Palestine has added four more Islamists to their lineup of speakers for their conference near Chicago on November 22-25 (not to be confused with the another Islamist conference,  the 11th annual convention of the Muslim American Society and the Islamic Circle of North America in Chicago on December 22-25).

The program for the event also reflects an Islamist agenda, including a session that legitimizes Palestinian terrorism. And most disturbingly, there’s a session about how to teach these beliefs to children.

AMP recently condemned Israeli strikes on terrorist targets in the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip and demanded an end to U.S. foreign aid to Israel, but did not even mention the more than 200 rockets and missiles that Hamas has fired at Israeli cities since November 10.

The original lineup included at least nine Islamists that RadicalIslam.org reported earlier in our article Brotherhood/Hamas-Linked Activist in Illinois for Extremist Event.

The additional four are as follows:

Abdel Moneim Aboul Fotouh Abdel Moneim Aboul Fotouh, who unsuccessfully sought the Egyptian presidency. He wanted the constitution to have Sharia and its principles as the main source of legislation, though he said this may not include its criminal law. Fotouh was a Muslim Brotherhood member since the early 1970’s, serving in a senior leadership capacity from 1987 to 2009 in the Guidance Bureau. His membership was suspended when he ran for president against the Brotherhood’s wishes. At the time, the Brotherhood said it would not seek the presidency but later reversed course and won.

Abdelfattah Mourou Abdelfattah Mourou is a co-founder of the Islamist Al-Nahda political party of Tunisia. Another founder is Rachid Ghannouchi, a supporter of Hamas with a history of very extreme preaching.

Imam Zaid Shakir Imam Zaid Shakir is no stranger to readers of RadicalIslam.org. We’ve documented his ongoing extremist preaching. He says that Hezbollah’s bombing of the U.S. Marine barracks in Lebanon in 1983 was not a terrorist attack, writes anti-American poems and told the New York Times in 2006 that “he still hoped that one day the United States would be a Muslim country ruled by Islamic law.” In one lecture, he legitimized a potential hijacking of airplanes transporting U.S. soldiers.

Shiekh Mohammad al-Hanooti Shiekh Mohammad al-Hanooti was President of the Islamic Association of Palestine from 1978 to 1990, an organization that was a Muslim Brotherhood front that rallied support for Hamas. The Investigative Project on Terrorism reports that he attended a secret meeting of Brotherhood and Hamas supporters in Philadelphia in 1993 that was wiretapped by the FBI. Al-Hanooti was named a “possible unindicted co-conspirator” in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing and also was an imam at two other prominent mosques linked to Hamas and the Brotherhood: The Islamic Center of Passaic County (1990 to 1995) and Dar al-Hijrah (1995 to 1999).

The recently published AMP program shows numerous Islamist themes. One session claims that the Arab Spring was inspired by “decades of Palestinian resistance.” Critics of the Islamist network in America are attacked in a session about “Islamophobia.”

The conference also ridicules U.S. counter-terrorism efforts and blasts “U.S. policies that are working to reduce Palestinians as a people, both physically and morally.” The program claims “solidarity work for Palestine is being criminalized more every day,” a reference to the prosecution of Muslim activists like Sami al-Arian and the five Holy Land Foundation officials for their involvement with Palestinian terrorist groups.

One session, titled, “The dialectic of occupation and right of resistance,” sounds like it will be a legitimization of terrorism disguised as an intellectual discourse. It will feature activists engaged in “peaceful resistance” and experts who will “put this into context of the greater picture of the internationally guaranteed right to resist occupation.”

State Dept. Officials Meet With Brotherhood-Linked Activist

Osama Abu Irshaid

by: Ryan Mauro

American Muslims for Palestine boasts that a member of its national board, Osama Abu Irshaid, was part of a delegation organized by the U.S. Campaign for the End of the Israeli Occupation that met with State Department officials on June 26. Irshaid says that Hamas rocket fire (which target civilian population centerss) are a form of “legitimate resistance” and he used to be the editor of a Muslim Brotherhood front’s newspaper.

Irshaid used to be the editor of the Islamic Association for Palestine’s Arabic newspaper, Al-Zaytounah. Internal Muslim Brotherhood documents unequivocally confirm that this organization was one of its fronts set up to promote the Hamas agenda. IAP events and publications consistently featured Hamas propaganda.

The Investigative Project on Terrorism documents that he refers to Hamas as “the resistance” and justified its firing of rockets into Israel.

“So instead of blaming the victim [Hamas], we should look at the criminal and the murderer. And instead of blaming the victim that even though if they’re firing rockets, regardless, now this is according to the international law should be a legitimate resistance, because they are under occupation,” he said.

The group Irshaid is currently a board member of, American Muslims for Palestine, calls for the destruction of Israel and features Brotherhood-linked speakers. Its event in Illinois on November 22-25 has many Brotherhood-linked speakers that have stated their support for Hamas and suicide bombings. CAIR Official Elected Delegate to Democrat Convention

by Ryan Mauro:

The Executive-Director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR)  Greater Area of Los Angeles Area chapter, Hussam Ayloush, has been elected as a  delegate to the Democratic National Convention. CAIR was labeled as an  “unindicted co-conspirator” by the federal government in the trial of the Holy Land  Foundation, a charity shut down for financing Hamas. On July 1, 2009,  District Judge Jorge Solis upheld  the label, ruling that the government provided “ample” evidence tying CAIR to  Hamas.

On April 29, Ayloush announced on his Twitter page that he was elected as a  DNC delegate for California’s Congressional District 42. The California  Democratic Party’s website has the results  of the delegate caucuses, confirming Ayloush’s victory.

CAIR’s roots are in the Muslim Brotherhood, specifically its Palestine  Committee that was secretly set up in the U.S. to support Hamas. In 1993, the  FBI wiretapped a Palestine Committee meeting in Philadelphia that included two  future founders of CAIR, Nihad  Awad and Omar  Ahmad. Also present was Shukri Abu Baker, the leader of the aforementioned  Hamas front called the Holy Land Foundation. At that time, Awad and Ahmed led  the Islamic  Association for Palestine, another Muslim Brotherhood front (according to  the Brotherhood’s own  documents) with extensive ties to Hamas.

The participants in the 1993 meeting discussed how to “support jihad in  Palestine” when “this will be classified as terrorism according to America.”  They discussed  the use of deception and word games and the need to create  a new organization with less baggage. Ahmed and Awad founded CAIR the next year.  That same year, Awad stated  that he supports Hamas. In 2004, he refused  to condemn Hamas and Hezbollah as terrorist groups in an interview with an  Arab publication. The Justice Department reportedly  blocked a planned prosecution of Ahmad in recent years.

It shouldn’t be surprising then that one of the Brotherhood’s documents from  2004 lists  CAIR and the Islamic Association for Palestine, from  which CAIR’s leadership came, among its “working organizations.” A 2007 court  filing is even clearer: “From its founding by Muslim Brotherhood leaders,  CAIR conspired with other affiliates of the Muslim Brotherhood to support  terrorists.the conspirators agreed to use deception to conceal from the American  public their connections to terrorists.”

Ayloush has been the Executive Director of CAIR’s Greater Area of Los Angeles  chapter since 1997. In December 2001, CAIR-CA’s website published a photo  of him with Sheikh Yousef al-Qaradawi, a senior Muslim Brotherhood cleric that  styles himself as the “Mufti of martyrdom operations” and preaches in favor of  Hamas, suicide bombings and the destruction of Israel. Ayloush views him as an  authoritative source. During a discussion about zakat in October 2002, he referenced  the view of “many scholars,” but only mentioned one: Qaradawi. To date, there is  no repudiation of Qaradawi on the CAIR-CA website or on Ayloush’s personal  blog.

In 2010, Ayloush said,  “I cannot think of one Muslim scholar that I know of, that I have ever heard of,  who has actually condoned terrorism.” Qaradawi’s consistent support for violent  jihad is well-known to even his most passive observers. Ayloush either is  stunningly ignorant of the “scholar” he references or agrees with Qaradawi’s  opinion of what qualifies as terrorism.

In January 2004, he spoke  of the “legitimate right of the Palestinians to defend themselves against the  Israeli occupation” and in 2006, he described  the kidnapping of three Israeli soldiers by Hamas and Hzbollah as a “military  operation.” The Israeli response, on the other hand, he said was “very  reminiscent to the Nazi style of collective punishment.in response to a  resistance.”

Ayloush consistently depicts the actions taken by the U.S. government against  Hamas/Muslim Brotherhood entities as acts of oppression. He ridiculed  the government for freezing the assets of the Holy Land Foundation in 2001,  saying, “As we see one charitable organization after the other having its assets  frozen and its offices closed, you know, the shift from fighting terrorism is  slowly happening towards a fight against symbols of Islam or Islamic activism in  the U.S.”

He even said the closing of these so-called “charities” is an act of  genocide. On June 21, 2006, he spoke at a conference sponsored by various  Brotherhood-tied groups like CAIR, the Muslim  American Society, the Muslim  Students Association and the Muslim  Public Affairs Council. He said,  “And any attempt to close down a legitimate relief organization is an attempt to  starve the Palestinian people.Any attempt to close down relief for the  Palestinians is an attempt at genocide.”

Illinois State Government’s Muslim Brotherhood Love Affair

Posted by Ryan Mauro Bio ↓ on Nov 28th, 2011 at Frontpage:

The Muslim Brotherhood’s stated objective in the U.S. is to “wage a grand jihad in eliminating and destroying Western civilization from within and sabotaging its miserable house.” This is done through thinly-disguised front organizations with credentials as “moderates” that can win the affection of the media and officials. These fronts’ relationship with the government of the state of Illinois is a perfect example of this strategy’s success.

On August 30, Illinois Governor Pat Quinn announced who would serve on his newly-created Muslim American Advisory Council.  Among those chosen were Ahmed Rehab and Safaa Zarzour. The former is the National Strategic Communications Director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and the Executive-Director of its Chicago chapter. The latter is the secretary-general of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) and is the chairman of CAIR-Chicago’s board. ISNA is listed in the Brotherhood’s own documents as one of “our organizations and the organizations of our friends.”

Both CAIR and ISNA are Muslim Brotherhood fronts and are listed by the federal government as “unindicted co-conspirators” in the trial of the Holy Land Foundation, which was shut down for financing Hamas. CAIR’s founders belonged to the Islamic Association for Palestine, which was also shut down as a front for Hamas. The two organizations went to court to get their designations lifted, but a judge determinedthat the government provided “ample evidence” connecting them to Hamas to justify the labels.

In 2007, the federal government said that, “From its founding by Muslim Brotherhood leaders, CAIR conspired with other affiliates of the Muslim Brotherhood to support terrorists” and “the conspirators agreed to use deception to conceal from the American public their connections to terrorists.” In 2009, the FBI ended its outreach programs with CAIR because of the evidence of its involvement with Hamas.

The well-documented and well-publicized evidence of CAIR and ISNA’s involvement with Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood has not stopped Illinois Governor Quinn and other officials from courting them. After all, opponents of the Brotherhood fronts are subject to being called “Islamophobes. As Quinn said in his announcement of his Muslim American Advisory Council, Illinois has “more than 400,000 Muslims and 300 mosques” and that’s a lot of voters.

“I congratulate CAIR-Chicago on another successful year of serving the needs of the Muslim population in Illinois, and for working toward ensuring justice and civil rights for all the communities you serve,” Quinn said in an email in March. Circuit County Clerk Dorothy Brown and Attorney General Lisa Madigan also complimented the group.

The website of CAIR-Chicago lists endorsements from the Secretary of State, five Democratic members of Congress, four mayors including that of Chicago, and various other officials in the state. It even includes praise from the superintendent of the Chicago Police Department and the Springfield FBI office’s Special Agent in Charge. Another Democratic Congressman, Mike Quigley of the 5th district, apologized to Muslims “on behalf of this country for discrimination you have faced” in September, playing into the theme of anti-Muslim hysteria and victimization the Islamists constantly use.

This isn’t the first time that Illinois officials have embraced terror-tied Muslim Brotherhood members. In December 2009, Imam Kifah Mustapha was appointed as the state police’s first Muslim chaplain. He, like CAIR and ISNA, was labeled as an “unindicted co-conspirator” by the federal government in the Holy Land trial. Documents introduced into court show that he was a member of the Muslim Brotherhood’s secret “Palestine Committee” to support Hamas in the U.S.

As a registered agent of the Holy Land Foundation, he raised the Hamas front hundreds of thousands of dollars.  The HLF sponsored his band, al-Sakhra, which performed songs supporting Hamas, jihad and violence against Israel. He also sat on the board of directors of the Hamas front named the Islamic Association of Palestine. CAIR also enjoys his support as a major fundraiser.

The Illinois State Police fired him in June 2010 as their chaplain after it Mustapha’s extremism was reported on. CAIR-Chicago immediately responded with a lawsuitaccusing the State Police of McCarthyism and “fear-mongering and anti-Muslim rhetoric that has senselessly engulfed our nation.”

He has been the imam at the Mosque Foundation of Bridgeview since 2002, which was taken over by the Muslim Brotherhood in the 1970s after it wrested control from moderate Muslims. It quickly began promoting extremism, including Hamas, suicide bombings and speaking out against assimilation.

Shockingly, despite all of the incriminating facts about Mustapha, he was given a six-week tour of FBI facilities including its main training center and the National Counterterrorism Center in September 2010 as part of its outreach campaign. A local news report said that “he pushed agents to fully explain everything from the bureau’s use of deadly force policy to radical and ethnic profiling.” The FBI responded to the outrage by saying his involvement posed no risk.

Far too many of the Prairie State’s officials have been swindled by the Muslim Brotherhood and the voters of Illinois need to hold them accountable. Illinois Governor Pat Quinn and all of the officials whose public endorsements are proudly published on CAIR-Chicago’s website should be embarrassed and hopefully, replaced.
