Taxpayers Made To Pay For Islamic Indoctrination In US University

Hatem Bazian

Hatem Bazian

By Lee Kaplan Contributor to, May 4, 2015:

Hatem Bazian is a senior lecturer in Near East Studies at UC Berkeley. A Palestinian Arab, Bazian is also a supporter of Hamas and one of the terrorist group’s apparatchiks in the United States. Bazian was the founder of the Students for Justice in Palestine which has chapters on over 80 campuses in the United States and that operates as a Hamas support network in the United States. Bazian also co-founded American Muslims for Palestine which also links to Hamas and functions as a propaganda and fundraising mechanism to Hamas in Washington and is active with the Muslim Students Association on over 150 campuses in the United States and Canada. As an organizer, Bazian is tough to equal and he has used the California college educational system and its taxpayer-funded deep pockets to help facilitate massive propaganda events and fundraising not only for the Palestinian terrorist group, but for pro-jihadist groups across American campuses and Europe as well.

It is through his bully pulpit at UC Berkeley that Bazian also created his Islamophobia Research and Documentation Project at UC Berkeley’s Center for Race and Gender Project. Racism and Sexism are hot topics on college campuses today. The fact that Islam is not a race, nor is a concept of Palestinian nationalism one, both of theories are being sold by Bazian and his acolytes in the university sphere worldwide. Thanks to UC Berkeley and surrounding colleges like San Francisco State (where Bazian did his undergraduate studies and led a Palestinian takeover of that campus as class president), Bazian’s campaign keeps gaining legitimacy as it aids the endless war against both the United States and Israel by militant Islamists including those who are fighting U.S. troops abroad.

A perusal of the websites for Baizan’s “documentation project” and the Center for Race and Gender events page at UC Berkeley reveals endless programs, lectures, events and other promotions dealing with alleged prejudice against all Muslims and “Islam” in America as endemic racism. On May 7th, the Center offers a book signing and lecture by a colleague of Bazian’s at Cal who claims American racism is the result of a refusal to establish a Palestinian state that would be led by notorious terrorists who support America’s and Israel’s downfall, such as Hamas.

“Islamophobia” refers to an irrational fear of Islam. It is supposedly to counter this irrational fear that Bazian staged April 23-25, 2015 his sixth annual “International Conference on Islamophobia: The State of the Islamophobia Field.” As done last year, the event was staged at UC Berkeley’s prestigious Boalt Hall Law School. Aside from providing a free venue at a distinguished law school, the event gets the entire imprimatur of one of the most distinguished universities in America. Other “sponsors” of the event included the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR), who members of congress and terrorism experts have declared a Hamas front group in America. The “Ethnic Studies” department at San Francisco State was also a sponsor, a professor of “Resistance Studies” named Rebab Abdulhadi in attendance and one of the conference lecturers who had gained notoriety by spending $6,000 of California taxpayer’s money for a sabbatical to visit female terrorist Leila Khaled in jail in Jordan to “show solidarity.” It should also be noted Hatem Bazian posted personally the conference’s schedule on the website of Bay Area Intifada, a blog that claims to promote “News, Updates, Analysis & Action Alerts for 3rd World Liberation & Decolonization from the Bay Area & Beyond.” An Intifada refers to Palestinian terrorist attacks that have killed thousands of Israeli civilians. The blog features photos attacking Israel and the United States.

I attended this latest conference with a video camera and tape recorder. I did the same thing last year and sat almost next to Hatem Bazian the entire time. Bazian was very cocky back then during last year’s event and joked about my having recorders. I wrote an article about that event. Only last March, Bazian staged yet another “Islamophobia” conference where he claimed Muslims were being denied a voice for their “studies” in the American university system despite his constant conferences and demonstrations to the contrary that I previously reported on and recorded.

Things were to be different at this conference. Bazian had me watched closely. On the second day, he approached me in the audience and told me I had to turn off my recorders. On two more occasions during that day, two goons came to my seat and ordered me to turn off my recording equipment , the last one threatening to “call the police.” It is against state law in California universities to hold private meetings and prevent recordings and a quick cell call to the Chancellor’s Office who contacted the campus police prevented any problems. I noted this occurred after one of the attendees during a question and answer period addressed the current panel and asked to discuss how the “Zionists” (Jews) were responsible for contributing to Islamophobia in America and how a Jewish organization was sending people to Israel to learn public relations that could be deemed as contributing to Islamophobia and how the New York police department was being propagandized by Jews.

From the get go, the accusation that criticism of Islam was racism was a central theme of the entire conference. Discrimination of women was also frequently discussed, but never in the context of Islamic exclusion of women or issues such as honor killings.

Bazian kicked things off accusing certain reporters and writers of contributing to Islamophobia. He dropped the names of Steve Emerson, Frank Gaffney and Ayan Hisri Ali, Brigette Gabriel and Pamela Geller as well as Fox News as being responsible for what he claimed was a smearing Islam to the public. Ayan Hirsi Ali’s speeches on discriminatory practices against women were all branded as “lies.” All the opening panels suggested that Islam is in no way linked to terrorism and it is the misrepresentation by such “Islamophobes” and it is racism to suggest so. What struck me was that as the conference progressed over three days it became more like a meeting of the German-American Bund in support of the Third Reich before the Second World War.

Baizan and company discussed only fleetingly the attack on 9/11 and how the Patriot Act supposedly had a deleterious effect on Muslims in America. But there was no logic to this. The fact is, the day after 9/11 the President and the US government declared that Islam is a peaceful religion and that the US was not at war with Islam itself, only militant Islamists and terrorists. This is still the US government’s position, yet the “academics” at this conference chose to suggest that any opposition to terrorism at all was just another manifestation of “Islamophobia.”

Of interest also was that Islam was not defined as a major religion, or idea, with different sects at this conference . What about Wahhabism? Or Sufi Islam, Shiism or Sunni Islam? None of these differences were discussed or explained, nor the fact that different sects of Islam sometimes fight wars between themselves. The entire conference was a “them v. us” event where any criticism or negative discussion of Islam was branded “Islamophobia,” particularly in the US or Western Europe. Terrorism wasn’t discussed at all unless to accuse the US and West of terrorism, or of false accusations against all Muslims, and no mention was given of terrorism where Muslims killed other Muslims. ISIS was not discussed at all. The Charlie Hebdo attacks in Paris were mentioned, but not in terms of their relationship to Islam as much as something westerners brought upon themselves.

Almost fifty presentations were made as examples of Islamophobia from presenters from across the United States and some even from Europe. But not all were academics or college professors or PhD candidates. Some, like Ramah Kudaimi from the US Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation, which is the renamed International Solidarity Movement in the US, another pro-Hamas organization whose activists devote their full-time calling for the destruction of Israel and who support terrorist groups, promoted what she called the Adab, or Muslim-American etiquette to promote Islamic activism against the West and American support for Israel. Sana Saeed, a producer for Al Jazeera, the television network funded by Qatar, a Hamas funder, lectured on “The New American Muslim and Faithwashing the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict” in which she called for Muslims to meet their obligations to call for the continued attacks on Israel rather than outlining Islamophobia in the US. Bazian followed where he lectured on “How does it feel to be a Muslim? Thinking through the present colonial perspective. His speech was hardly an example of Islamophobia as much as an adversarial approach by Muslims in America to be at odds with the US government and those fighting militant Islam.

Op-Ed: Two US Banks and Funds to Hamas

Arutz Sheva, by Lee Kaplan, Feb. 26, 2015:

Paul LaRudee is an impassioned supporter of Hamas and the Palestinian revolution against Israel. He operates the Northern California chapter of the International Solidarity Movement.  In 2006, Paul LaRudee was stopped trying to enter Israel under a fake identity as Paul Wilder in order to try and bring aid to Hamas. That case resulted in a Supreme Court case in Israel as pro-Hamas elements tried to legally allow him to stay in that country. I provided evidence back then that got him deported. You can read about that here.

LaRudee, after being deported, went to Lebanon next to meet up with Hezbollah during that summer’s war with Israel.. LaRudee has been involved with the Gaza Flotillas to bring material aid to Hamas in Gaza for the last several years. He was arrested and detained during the Mavi Marmara incident when terrorists on board one of the ships attacked Israeli soldiers seeking to stop the ship on the high seas.

Palestine Children’s Welfare Fund (PCWF) in Texas is a nonprofit charitable front also for Hamas. Its website used to hold art contests for Palestinian children to draw suicide bombings of Israelis. The head of PCWF according to police in Texas committed suicide several years ago after the FBI raided his offices. Hamad was found drowned in Lady Bird Lake in Texas, his hands bound with tape and his mouth taped up.  Despite the tape, the local police ruled his death a suicide.

Paul LaRudee took over the finances for PCWF and continued raising money to be sent to the Palestinians as “charity.”  Although PCWF was in Texas, LaRudee ran it from his home in El Cerrito, California as he started another fundraising organization, on the West Coast.

Despite photos of him shaking hands with the head of Hamas in Gaza, ( and even receiving an award from Hamas, LaRudee continued to call it ‘charity” work for Gaza.

The US Supreme Court recently ruled that terrorist organizations could not be exempted from having their funds seized in the US by saying the funds are apolitical “charity” for poor civilians. This angle was used repeatedly during the war on terror to raise funds for terrorist groups.

Paul LaRudee wired $3,750 US to a bank in Lebanon that was allegedly to give the money for food and blankets to the Palestinians, a.k.a. Hamas in Gaza. LaRudee was so used to abusing the system he addressed the funds to Hafez Assad.  Hafez Assad was the former dictator of Syria whose son Bashir now runs whatever is left of the country. It got him caught.

The funds were to be wired through Bank of the West in California that relies on Mellon Bank in New York or overseas transactions. The money was really meant for Hamas in Gaza. LaRudee must have gotten away with this procedure for quite a while to use the name of a dead dictator.

However, an alert bank employee at Mellon Bank thought this particularmoney transfer looked suspicious. Responsible banks strive to intercept funds meant for terrorism, but most don’t bother. Bank of the West didn’t, but Mellon Bank did. They froze the funds, asking for more information.

LaRudee began asking the funds be sent back to and himself.  Bank of the West began to smell a rat and asked for more information about who Hafez Assad is.  LaRudee began blitzing the banks and their legal departments with emails from his acolytes across the country.

As a reporter, I tried calling Bank of the West and alerting them to LaRudee’s background and links to terrorist groups. But I was stonewalled.  An email LaRudee put out asked his supporters to email the bank and protest giving the money back:

“At one point, we thought we might have a breakthrough when we received a statement from Bank of the West Chief Counsel, Quinn Osborne, that Bank of New York Mellon was in fact refusing to return our funds without the information that they were requesting about the beneficiary of the transaction that we cancelled, the Charitable Association for Palestinian Refugees.  We needed this in case they continued to hold the funds even after we provided the information, so that we could demonstrate that their action is illegal.

“No sooner had we submitted the requested information than Mr. Osborne informed us that BNY Mellon would not be returning the funds.  None of the requested information was relevant, because the transaction had been cancelled and we had instructed that the money should be returned to our account, not to the beneficiary.  To give you an idea of the absurdity of most of the questions, however, you are welcome to read the text of our letter, which we sent to Tanya Kazak, Bank of the West VP for Compliance.

“With your calls, emails and threats to move your banking away from Bank of the West, we had hoped to resolve the matter this week.  It may take longer, but here is what we plan to do:

“Take it even more public.  This morning we issued a local press release n order to carry the message farther.  We are considering national or even international outlets, but we are starting with our local area.  If you have press contacts, please refer this to them. Sue them in small claims court.  It turns out that even nonprofit corporations can use such courts in California for amounts up to $5000.  $3720 plus a $45 transaction fee may be pocket change for Bank of the West and especially BNY Mellon, with more than $1 trillion in assets, but for Palestinian refugees and our tiny nonprofit, it is worth all the trouble. Continue the boycott and sanctions campaign against Bank of the West.  Although BNY Mellon is holding our funds, Bank of the West is accountable for them because we are their client, not BNY Mellon’s.  We are hoping to use the power of you, the people, to restore justice in this instance, and to make Bank of the West see the wisdom of settling the matter without further damage to their reputation. We intend to seek help from public officials and agencies.  We have already filed a complaint with the California Department of Business Oversight for financial institutions.  In addition, we plan to follow up with the members of Congress and especially Barbara Lee, in whose district we are headquartered.  We welcome your help in this regard and hope to have contact and reference information for you soon.

“In the meantime, we have a new number for you to call, that of Bank of the West Chief Counsel Quinn Osborne, +1 402 918 1623, and his fax is +1 402 918 5482, email  He is the main contact with BNY Mellon and responsible for assuring that their instructions are followed.  He needs to hear from you.

“Thank you for all your support.  We are going to win this one.”

For previous information and newsletters on this subject, visit and

A PCWF page likewise did the same. Bank of the West isn’t responding. Are they going to return the money to La Rudee and his Hamas enthusiasts or are they going to honor national security and confiscate it? Indications are the banks might give LaRudee the money back just to be rid of the problem. Their refusal to accept information, photos and other items that prove LaRudee was sending money to a false identity in Lebanon for transfer to Hamas in Gaza is particularly vexing as the War on Terror drags on.  We can only hope Bank of the West does the right thing.

As of February 25th, Bank of the West retrieved the funds from Mellon Bank that provided them to them and LaRudee and company were back in business. These funds which were allegedly sent to the poor in Gaza were in fact sent to Lebanon addressed to a dead Arab dictator. Both Mellon Bank and Bank of the West caved to an email bombardment and sent the money back. Bank of the West should be ashamed. Americans should be worried that our banking industry in helping to fund one of the worse terrorist organizations in the world.

One thing is certain, Bank of the West may just refuse future wire transfers from LaRudee and company. If so, only then does the bank deserve the patronage of Americans.

A New Kind Of War On Israel And The Jews Just Took Place At BDS Conference In San Diego: Something To Be Afraid Of

By Lee Kaplan:

I attended undercover the west coast national planning conference of the US Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation last September 19-21 in San Diego, California. The US Campaign is, in fact, the International Solidarity Movement, sometimes known as Palsolidarity, having been renamed and repackaged to serve as the main nerve center for the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement against Israel in the United States. Over 400 groups statewide dedicated to bringing down the Jewish state were represented.

A repetitive theme of this event was that truth was irrelevant if it stood in the way of destroying Israel or interfered with the BDS movement’s goals. Lying by omission was a favored tactic that presented just enough information to convey a false impression without telling the whole truth or story at this event. Where this tactic failed, outright lying was the method of the day.

Deconstructing the truth about Israel and its irredentist terrorist neighbors like Hamas to fool an unknowing American public was the main goal and, in terms of training new legions to go out and do that, the event was successful. This wasn’t about peace, but about de-legitimizing Israel to strengthen Hamas, nor was it about academic freedom or accurate scholasticism as it tried to suggest it was.

Iranian Official: Hamas Should Use Tunnels to Protect Civilians

Arutz Sheva, By Tova Dvorin:

Mohsen Rezai, Secretary Expediency Discernment Council for the Islamic Republic of Iran and former commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, called for Hamas to step up their campaign of human shields in future wars against Israel on live television on Sunday – disguised, cynically, as protection for the civilian population.

“I would like to tell the mujahideen [terrorist fighters] in Palestine that they should think of a way to protect the civilians,” Rezai said, on Al-Alam TV. Rezai’s comments were translated by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI).

“They could dig tunnels, and when a war breaks out, the people could take refuge in these tunnels. All the people will go underground.”

“They use the tunnels to launch missiles, but they should also use them to protect civilians,” he said. “In my letter to Mr. [Iranian President Hassan] Rouhani, I called for the Islamic countries to provide air-resistance systems to the Islamic resistance.”

Rezai also noted Iran’s great support for Hamas, as a symbol of “resistance.”

“As a mujahid in the army of the great Islamic world, and as a fighter in the great Islamic resistance, I believe it to be my responsibility to help (the Palestinians),” he said. “I felt that I had to write to the commander of the Al-Qassam Brigades [Hamas’s ‘military wing’ – ed.] and to express my support.”

“I wrote that they should not be on the defense alone,” he continued. “Rather, they should set out from their posts.”

According to Rezai, Hamas should employ specific strategies in the war of “resistance.”

“As you know, Israel has a weakness: when two or three people – two or three soldiers – are kidnapped, Israel will surrender,” he insisted. “From now on, if Israel attacks, it should not expect the (Palestinian) fighters to remain in their posts.”

“There are 1.8 million people in the Gaza Strip. Half of them are women, which leaves us with 900,000. If we deduct the children and the elderly from those 900,000, we are left with 500,000 or 600,000 men capable of bearing arms. If only 100,000 begin to take action, Israel will not be able to withstand it.”

“In future wars, Israel should expect the Palestinians to wait for the raids in their homes,” he added. “They will cross the borders, and a third intifada will begin.”

“I personally would like to say that we should provide the Palestinians with defense and weapons technology, so that they will be able to produce weapons even when under siege,” he said.

When questioned whether Iran continues to provide Hamas with weapons, following the revelation last month that it had aided the terror organization in Operation Pillar of Defense in 2012, he responded in the affirmative.

“How do you think these missiles were produced?” he asks, smirking. “All these missiles are the fruit of the technology provided to Palestine.”

“If Israel was capable of attacking Iran, it would not have hesitated to do so,” he dismissed. “What has prevented Israel from attacking Iran is the realization that such a thing would be the end of it for Israel. There would no longer be such a thing called ‘Israel.”

Interestingly, the idea of using the tunnels for shelter was raised by pro-Israel advocate Lee Kaplan in a recent interview with PressTV

Lee was doing such a good job of refuting their lies that they cut his mic off

Backgrounder: The Students for Justice in Palestine

By Lee Kaplan:

The Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) today exists as a consortium of campus “clubs” throughout the American and Canadian college systems which work to oppose the existence of Israel and to promote Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions against the Jewish state. There are at least 80 chapters of these clubs on campuses throughout the US and Canada. The SJP goes under other assorted names on some campuses. Names such as Palestine Solidarity Committee or Students for Palestinian Equal Rights are also common.  In Canada, some SJP chapters have adopted the name Students Against Israeli Apartheid (SAIA), or Solidarity for Palestinian Human Rights (SPHR), while others use similar sounding names but advocate for the Palestinian “revolution”or resistance against the Israeli and US governments when they are perceived as allies together against “Palestinian” irredentist goals. The SJP could be said to operate on the campuses in a classic Rico Statute style of infiltration as a method of promoting the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions Movement throughout the USA and Canada via a “grass roots movement.”

unnamedThe SJP actually grew on these campuses, thanks to Hatem Bazian, out of another organization, the General Union of Palestinian Students (GUPS) that was first founded on the San Francisco State University campus in 1973. The GUPS is actually an old pro-terrorist student organization officially begun in Egypt in 1959. It claimed at one point to have had as many as 150 chapters across Europe and the Middle East, and currently has a chapter in Gaza. Early GUPS members or leaders have included Yasser Arafat, Hanan Ashwari, Faisal Husseini and Saeb Erekat among several other well-known Palestinian politicians, writers, journalists and militants who ultimately were involved in terrorism or worldwide political influence from the Middle East. The GUPS is in existence today at San Francisco State University where it wields considerable political influence and has been accused of promoting an atmosphere of anti-Semitism on the Bay Area campus. The GUPS at SFSU could be said to be another differently named affiliate of the SJP, even though it predates the founding of the SJP.

Hatem Bazian

Hatem Bazian

The actual campus organization Students for Justice in Palestine was started at UC Berkeley in the year 2000 by a former undergraduate GUPS member at SFSU named Hatem Bazian, who founded the first UC Berkeley chapter of the GUPS, retitled Students for Justice in Palestine, as he pursued his graduate studies toward a PhD. Bazian was head of the Muslim Students Association on the UC Berkeley campus at the time that openly supports Hamas, and he called for an Intifada in America at one rally, though he claimed he was speaking only figuratively. Nevertheless, he has praised terrorist groups and accused Jews of running the University.

BDS leader Anna Baltzer has newborn after praising terrorists who murdered a Jewish woman and her babies

By Lee Kaplan:

Anna Baltzer has described the terrorist group Al Aksa Martyr’s Brigade as “noble,”  the same terror group in the West Bank that murdered a Jewish mother’s entire family and slit the throat of her newborn. Anna said nothing against those murders, but objected instead on her website to the “judaization” of Jerusalem. Now Anna distributes photos of her own newborn sporting a handmade “Palestine” shirt reminiscent of Rosemary’s Baby.

Her real name is Anna Piller but she used the alias of Anna Baltzer while her Jewish grandmother was alive so her Jewish grandma, a supporter of Israel who survived Nazi-occupied Europe, wouldn’t know what disgusting things her granddaughter was doing. Anna wrote that although she was born to a Jewish mother, she wasn’t raised in the religion and knew nothing about it. This didn’t stop her though taping videos such as one during attempts to divest UC San Diego from Israel where she told viewers that as an “American Jewish woman” of conscience she urged the students to attack the Jewish state by starving the Jews out of the Middle East.  The Arabs found in Anna Piller a “Jew” who could claim she was opposed to the existence of a Jewish state and hopefully convince college students worldwide that even if they are Jewish they should favor Israel’s demise. As such, she tours all over the world with a seminar calling for support for terrorists and boycotting the Jews. She has “lectured” at over 500 venues including law schools and even Oxford University in the UK. Her presentations are usually lies about Israeli atrocities against innocent Arabs with a final message to understand the violence the Arab terrorists do. She lied about her background, falsely claiming she is a Fulbright scholar (a PhD candidate) when all she did was get some money  from Fulbright to be an assistant English teacher in Turkey.

Anna even wrote in the Electronic Intifada, a propaganda organ for the Arabs, of her admiration for the Al Aksa Martyr’s Brigade and she did an interview in Canada on radio where she concluded shouting, “Inshallah! One day we will bring down Zionism [the Jews]!”

Her activities have netted her a sinecure as the head of the NGO the US Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation (the renamed ISM for lobbying purposes in Washington D.C.) and on the Board of Directors of the former neo-Nazi and anti-Semitic NGO The Council for the National Interest, founded by virulently anti-Semitic Paul Findley and James Aborezek.

Anna, just had a baby and is back from “maternity leave” to her job smearing Israel and promoting boycotts and divestment from the Jewish state. Her baby girl, Eleanor,  was also christened with an Arab name, Noura. Most Jewish women give their newborns Jewish names, but not the “American Jewish woman with a conscience” Anna Baltzer who wants to bring down the Jewish state. Anna published a photo of her newborn with a Palestine flag t-shirt on, sort of reminiscent of Rosemary’s Baby.

Below is a photo of Anna with Eleanor in the hospital. Below that is a photo of Ruth Fogel, a Jewish woman from the community of Itamar in Judea and Samaria.  Ruth Fogel was a proud mother too, the same age as Anna, but some Arabs from the Al Aksa Martyrs Brigade that Anna so admires broke into Ruth’s home and butchered her and her three children and husband. They also slashed the throat of Ruth’s infant daughter, Hadas. Hadas was an afterthought, the killers at first overlooked her when they killed the family, one of them going back afterward and slitting the infant’s throat.  They were bringing down Zionism (the Jews) like Anna called for in Canada.  Anna never condemned these murders. In fact, at the end of each of her lectures at law schools and churches in the U.S. she ends by asking “If someone came uninvited into your house and they wouldn’t leave, wouldn’t you pick up a lamp or something and attack them?” The Arab killers who killed Ruth Fogel and Hadas were doing exactly what Anna condones  as she praises and makes excuses for the Al Aksa Martyrs Brigade.

Anna B.

Below are the two Al Aksa Martyrs Brigade terrorists who murdered  the Fogel family and slashed the throat of the Fogel’s infant daughter, Hadas. Meanwhile, the image below was lifted from a Palestinian TV show praising the two killers for their “noble” act just like Anna Baltzer does. The image below that shows the Fogel family father (a rabbi) and 3 month old Hadas after the Al Aksa terrorists murdered them. The baby’s throat was slit.

killers of Fogel fam

Anna Baltzer seems to connect with babies a lot lately. In her speech she presents at colleges, churches and law schools tells a lie about an Arab woman who lost two fetuses at a checkpoint because Israeli soldiers would not let the woman through a checkpoint. The woman originally in her speeches was supposed to a Palestinian ISM leader named Lamis Deek, but the name and identity changed to Hessa in Der Balut.  Those who attend her presentation do not know that there are hospitals in Ramallah accessible from Der Balut, so why she would even need to go to an Israeli hospital isn’t answered.

Anna will soon be back on the travel stump promoting the boycott of the Jews in America and Israel and telling her lies about Israel committing atrocities as before and no doubt extolling the virtues of the Al Aksa Martyrs Brigade and their noble acts of “resistance.” But before she does, people opposed to the likes of Anna can and should do something about it:

There is a list below of the over 500 venues where she spoke before. She will no doubt repeat her lectures at many of them. The SJP venues and mosques will not care if she tells the truth. However, the colleges and law schools need to read this article and the others where she has been exposed so she won’t be invited back. Individuals can take action and write to these venues and send them this article so hopefully she will not be returning now that the truth is known.

UC Berkeley “Islamophobia” Conference: Pseudo-Scholarship at Taxpayer Expense

islam (1)by :

At taxpayer expense, one of the most prominent universities in America, UC Berkeley, recently hosted an Islamic propaganda-fest promoting Sharia Law and ways to use the educational sphere to obstruct national security by blaming “Islamophobia” and “white racism.” Participants hailed their “research” as the cause of the cancellation of the NYPD’s counterterrorism intelligence program and called for “Islamophobia Studies” to be a college major worldwide.

A peculiar theme was repeatedly advanced throughout the three-day Fifth Annual Conference on Islamophobia, held at UC Berkeley’s prestigious Boalt Law School in Berkeley, California April 17-19. Almost all presenters who spoke about the 34 or more “academic” papers that were discussed continually asserted that white racism and colonialism were the causes of “Islamophobia” throughout America and Europe. In their view, this “Islamophobia” is driven by the media, while racism against people of color is the main cause overall behind the (supposed) persecution of Muslims. Fear of terrorism was of no legitimate concern.

Discussions also centered on discrimination against women and gays, a practice deemed not to be a widespread problem in Islamic practices, but the result of “Islamophobia.”

Hatem Bazian was the main organizer of the event. A Senior Lecturer in the Near Eastern and Ethnic Studies at UC Berkeley, Bazian was an adjunct Professor of Islamic Law at Boalt Law School from 2002-2007. As an undergrad, Bazian was a student leader among the General Union of Palestinian Students at San Francisco State, where he ultimately earned an M.A. in International Relations. He then went through UC Berkeley’s PhD program while being a Palestinian activist on that campus with the Students for Justice in Palestine. He is one of the founders of Zaytuna College in Berkeley, the nation’s first “Islamic college” that is graduating its first class this month. Bazian was a co-founder of American Muslims for Palestine that has been featured in the news as a Hamas front.

Bazian kicked off the conference with an introduction that discussed Islamophobia as an irrational fear of Islam and a major issue for Muslims worldwide. He cast much of the blame for this (supposed) situation on Steven Emerson of the Investigative Project. Bazian stated that the conference would deal with deciphering the causes and activities of latent and manifested Islamophobia and that similar conferences were already in the works to take place in Paris, France and Salzberg, Austria next year to reach European audiences. He also discussed a similar conference to take place in Turkey because, as he explained, “Islamophobia takes place in the Middle East and Muslim countries also.” He concluded by saying that he hoped to see “Islamophobia” as a major studies course in universities and colleges across America and the entire world.

As the conference ensued, the speakers blamed the news media for Islamophobia and complained of so-called “experts” on Islam who allegedly “had no knowledge” and were supposedly inflaming public opinion against Muslims. These individuals included Pamela Geller, Ann Coulter and Robert Spencer, who, like Steve Emerson, were all accused of making “false accusations” against Muslims. Photos were displayed of the controversial bus ads placed by Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer’s American Freedom Defense Initiative condemning jihad in Boston, with examples of how the organizers had managed to get the bus companies to change the wording on the ads to make them less “anti-Islamic.”

At no time during the conference was there a condemnation of terrorism or any other security threat to the United States, despite an agreement by all that 9/11 was a watershed moment for Muslims, particularly in America. Israel also was not mentioned, save for once when the word “occupation” was used. Any type of national security that scrutinized Muslims was deemed “Islamophobic,” as if actual terrorism does not exist and has never been carried out by Muslims — who are, according to the conference’s main theme, only falsely profiled or accused and are, therefore, victims.

Op-Ed: Medea Benjamin: Deported From Egypt, Admired by Obama

140304161640-medea-benjamin-story-topBy Lee Kaplan:

Last week Medea Benjamin of Code Pink was stopped at Cairo’s airport by Egyptian security and ultimately deported to Turkey to be sent on her way home. Our agency, was responsible for this.

Subsequent reports elsewhere suggested the deportation was because of a photo of her taken in Tahrir Square during the riots that led to the downfall of Hosni Mubarak. But that is not the real reason.

The real reason Medea Benjamin was deported from Egypt and denied access to enter Gaza was that she was on her way to provide material support to Hamas in Gaza  in yet another trip there for phony “humanitarian reasons”, with celebrating  International Women’s Day as her cover.

The Women’s Day conference was in fact a ruse to get Benjamin and another 100 ISM interlinked people from Code Pink and other countries into Gaza to aid Hamas. Everyone knows that women living under Hamas rule are treated as chattel – as they are in all the conservative parts of the Islamic world. Medea Benjamin and her cronies have no concern for such abuse by Hamas and the other terrorist groups. But the notion of helping women’s rights sells well in the West and gives Benjamin a cover for what she was really up to.

And the “Woman’s Day” event she was touting is actually a holdover from a Stalinist event put on in the Soviet Union in 1934, so it allowed Benjamin and her fellow wannabe communist revolutionaries and acolytes a communist-inspired venue.

Born Susan Benjamin to a Jewish family in New York about sixty years ago, Benjamin changed her name to Medea, the mythical Greek woman who murdered her children to get back at her husband. That should give some idea of the woman’s mental state; in fact, many of the “Jews” in the ISM are anti-authoritarian and getting back at mommy and daddy by damning Israel and the Jewish people. She lived in Fidel Castro’s Cuba  which she described as being “in heaven,” but was deported by Castro’s government for being a troublemaker there. After that, she had the good sense not to go live in another communist country.

Benjamin first came under’s radar when she sent $600,000 in “medical supplies” to the Iraqi “resistance” at the height of the battle for Fallujah where our marines were being killed and losing limbs in house to house battle. Incredibly, she got this act cleared with the help of a Jewish congressman, Henry Waxman, and former President George W. Bush. Her claim that this was needed for humanitarian reasons won them over.

Never mind that those medical supplies were probably sold on the black market to further finance the killing of U.S. and coalition forces. Benjamin will support any communist insurgency in South America, North Korea or Cuba. Despite this, this anti-capitalist virago has two retail shops where she makes money for her revolutionary plans – and she enjoys non-profit status thanks to the U.S. taxpayer.

As with any good Stalinist communist wannabe, her main target is Israel and until recently she provided a sinecure for the transsexual anarchist Dalit Baum within Code Pink, paying her to promote the boycott of all of Israel at American colleges. Benjamin personally brought a letter from the Hamas “foreign minister” to President Obama during one of her Support Hamas visits.

What readers should find most disturbing is that she has gained credibility with the White House, is at least able to use the connection as a sounding board. Medea Benjamin heckled President Obama during a speech in Washington and Obama actually allowed her to speak over him.She was complaining about the U.S. military using drones to fight Al Qaeda in Yemen and keeping prisoners of war in Guantanamo.

Op-Ed: Egypt Deports Code Pink Leader: ‘Stop the ISM’ Did It

medea-benjaminArutz Sheva, By Lee Kaplan:

The news wires were all abuzz today with the report that Medea Benjamin of Code Pink was deported from Egypt on trying to enter Gaza through the Rafah crossing. Stop the ISM, a division of was responsible for this.

Upon learning that Benjamin was planning a trip to Gaza under the ruse of bringing lanterns to the Palestinian Arabs, our agency contacted the Egyptian embassy in Washington D.C.  and alerted them to her plans. The result was  Egyptian officials met her airplane when she arrived and immediately arrested her.

Benjamin, who exults in creating media scenes, attempted to resist the Egyptian police who, she claims, then dislocated her shoulder as they dragged her to a holding cell prior to her deportation to Turkey.

Benjamin is a lifelong communist and funds the BDS movement in the United States through one of her nonprofits, Global Exchange, in the San Francisco Bay Area. Until recently, Benjamin was employing Dalit Baum of Who Profits in Israel to tour the U.S. and promote BDS against Israel and Jewish institutions as well as corporations that do business with Israel.

Baum now works for another part of the ISM, the American Friends Service Committee, which helps her organize her tours, mainly of college campuses.

Benjamin has become famous by creating rackets and demos in the U.S., demonstrating against the United States and Israel, appearing topless on more than one occasion. She even interrupted President Obama during a speech in Washington to scream about drones being used against al Qaeda in Yemen. In that instance, she was not arrested, as usual, and got away with her antics.

Benjamin’s arrest and deportation show a serious shift in Egypt’s relationship with Hamas since the ouster of the Muslim Brotherhood and Morsi from that country. Only days ago, Egypt closed the Hamas office in the country and put out a clear signal that Egypt recognizes that the threat from Hamas extremists poses just as much of a threat to stability in Egypt as elsewhere in the Middle East.

Benjamin is part of the ISM network in the United States and was involved in several excursions to Gaza where her NGO’s would bring support to the Hamas terrorist leadership in Gaza.

Egypt is to be commended for finally putting a stop to this woman’s penchant for encouraging aid to a terrorist organization and disguising that aid as “humanitarian work.”  In any case, her arrest and removal by the Egyptian authorities is the first concrete step taken toward reining in Hamas in Gaza.

Hamas has been aligning itself more and more with Iran, also increasingly supported by Benjamin, so that she is seen as posing a security concern for Egypt.

Will the Real Anna Baltzer Please Rise?

Anna J. Piller, aka Anna Baltzer

Anna J. Piller, aka Anna Baltzer

By Lee Kaplan:

The individual known as Anna Baltzer, whose name remains questionable in terms of legal legitimacy, leads the US Campaign Against the Israeli Occupation and the Boycott and Divestment Movement (BDS) against Israel. Under that name, she has developed a sinecure traveling to churches and colleges worldwide regaling false tales of atrocities by Israel’s Jews against innocent Palestinians with slick presentations, somehow even grabbing a television appearance at Oxford University.

What’s in a Name?

Using the identity of Anna Baltzer, she claims to have appeared at over 500 venues spreading her revisionist history. Billing herself as the “grandchild of Polish-born Holocaust survivors” and a “Fulbright Scholar” to lend her legitimacy in college venues, Baltzer would appear to be the perfect foil to the Jewish state. But what appears to be emerging now is that the woman known as Anna Baltzer is not who she claims to bet While in the’ West Bank’, she routinely rubs elbows with known terrorists while citing her very questionable background.

Based on my investigation, it would appear that she is enough of an embarrassment to some of her family that she allegedly fabricated the name Anna Baltzer – or otherwise associated herself with that name without undergoing any obvious legal means allowing her to do so, to conceal her true identity. Research found that she has at least three aliases, including the identity as Anna Baltzer under which she personally collects money while rewriting history and spreading disinformation about the Jews

Fulbright Exaggerations & Damage Control

As a journalist I first ran afoul of reporting about Anna Baltzer, when I wrote a series of articles for the Gatestone Institute about her. In those articles I reported that there was no Anna Baltzer on record as being a Fulbright Scholar; that no one with the name Baltzer was on record as a Holocaust survivor from the death camps of Poland, and that no record existed of an Anna Baltzer ever going on a Birthright Tour to Israel. The Birthright Tour is of critical importance to her saga as it is during this event that Baltzer claimed she had been falsely indoctrinated into a pro-Israel position and that it inspired her to research the truth about the Palestinian plight.

When my first investigative article was published, a self-described Jewish anarchist named Daniel Sieradski  began tweeting about her at Oxford.. Sieradski, having the same objectives to eliminate Israel, writes all manner of cynical “Jewish” materials, and continually defends anti-Semites and blames Jews for anti-Semitism.

He then contacted Gatestone with false accusations of sloppy journalism, contending the inaccuracy of my information about Baltzer despite the authenticated data contained in my report. For his evidence, Sieradski merely sent a computer screenshot from the Fulbright website that listed Baltzer’s real name, Anna J. Piller, suggesting that my initial information was incorrect.

Inspection of his “evidence” determined that the page he proclaimed as evidence that Baltzer, known as Anna Piller, was indeed a Fulbright Scholar was quickly dismissed. The “evidence” Sieradski offered was nothing more than a page devoted to students hired as teaching assistants by Fulbright, and not a list of actual Fulbright scholars. That page merely proved that Baltzer, under the surname Piller, was hired as a teaching assistant to teach English at an English language program in Turkey – an Islamic country. A separate list of legitimate Fulbright scholars dating back to 1990 showed no entries or listings under her legal name or alias. At best, she exaggerated her academic qualifications to gain entry to the university speaking circuit. Yet, Sieradski suggested that as a Jew, he felt I owed Anna Baltzer an apology.

Fellow activists from the ISM and Sieradski, who also encourages boycotting of Israel like Anna Baltzer does, flew into action and changed biographical data on the  Wikipedia site to reflect now that her real name was Piller, explaining that this surname was the reason that Baltzer did not appear on the Fulbright Scholarshipwebsite. Such revisions were done after and in likely response to the findings from my initial investigative report.

Roseanne Barr bakes and more names for Baltzer appear

It is important to note that Sieradski is a Jew who is part of the in-house staff and writes for the anarchist magazine, Heeb. The word Heeb is considered a racial slur for Jews. The cover of that magazine once featured the notoriously anti-Israel Roseanne Barr, sporting a Hitler moustache and placing cookies shaped as Jewish people into an oven.

Gatestone removed my articles. Undeterred, I moved my investigative report to to a more heavily trafficked site. I decided to increase the scope of my investigation of the individual using the name Anna Baltzer. There was indeed more to be found.

Most important was her claim of being the grandchild of “Polish-born holocaust survivors”. Today, she is against the existence of Israel as the Jewish national homeland and not only a vindicator of the Palestinian goal to replace the Jewish state with an Arab one, but even of the violence that is practiced by Palestinian terrorists against Jews and other Israelis.
