CAN, By Martin Mawyer:

When I learned that President Obama had released the five most notorious jihadists from the prison at Guantanamo Bay in exchange for an Army deserter, I reacted as many Americans did: I was horrified to think these savages were being put back into circulation by our own president.

Our recently released video exposé, “Sleeping Giant: Islam Behind the Wall,” demonstrates in shocking detail what President Obama seems not to understand—that prison itself is an incubator for radical Islam.

There is much more to the story of these Gitmo Five than just the near-certain prospect that they will soon all be back on the battlefield engaged in acts of terrorism against us. Islamists cannot be given the freedom to become more virulent in their ideology inside our prisons, only to be set free to commit more jihad. That is suicide. And that’s exactly what’s happening in America’s prisons.

In making our video “Sleeping Giant,” I had the opportunity to interview a convicted felon who spent years in several of America’s most infamous state prisons. It was an eye-opening interview that left me both shaken and convinced that America is literally teeming with radicalized ex-cons who leave prison better equipped and more willing to harm us than when they went in.

Zoran , of Serbian descent, is an American citizen who landed in prison after a felony conviction. After seeing how powerful the Muslim gangs are in prison, he decided to infiltrate them.

“I wanted them to think I hated the government, and that I hated America,” he said.

When I met Zoran, he was covered in some frightening tattoos, most of them obtained in prison. Some were in the Serbian language advertising his gang affiliations. Others were marks of his accomplishments in the martial arts. He is tall, muscular and strong—perfect for a Muslim gang.

“They look at a prisoner’s physique, to see if he is strong,” Zorn explained, “but they also look for a weak individual, someone who needs food, a sense of family, who needs someone to help them.

“They present a sign of hope” to these lost prisoners, he said.

“They ask, ‘Do you need to make a call? Here’s a cell phone, you have five minutes,’” Said Zoran. “If you need drugs, pornographic material, cigarettes, they’ll provide it. And they’ll hold these things for you so you don’t get in trouble with the guards.”

According to Zoran, Muslims in our prisons “control everything. They have everything on lockdown—the jobs, the drugs, the guards, everything.”

Zoran was stunned to see that radical Islamic ideology—including guerilla combat techniques—is taught right in the prisons without any monitoring from the prison authorities.

“One day they saw me practicing some (martial arts) moves,” he said. “They decided I should teach advanced combatives to their Muslim gang members.”

muslims in prisonZoran also explained that books teaching radical Islamic ideology are smuggled into the prisons with ease. Books like “The Anarchist Cookbook”—a murder manual that teaches radicals how to make bombs and other weapons—enters the prisons in the Arabic language in plain bindings so that prison officials and guards think it is the Koran, or other Islamic teachings.

Zoran also learned how to defraud America’s welfare system from his Muslim mentors in prison. “They teach you unemployment fraud, Social Security fraud,” he said. A big scam in the prisons is the illegal use of “green dot” pre-paid cards. Friends and family on the outside help the prisoners use false Social Security numbers to load hundreds of dollars onto the cards so they can be used in the prisons to buy anything the prisoners need—including illegal drugs.

One of Zoran’s most shocking admissions was that the Muslim gangs don’t just stop their indoctrination once the prisoner is let out. They are persuaded to make immediate contact with Islamic communities and mosques on the outside, where they can continue their Islamic jihad training.

Zoran said his Muslim mentors in prison specifically directed him to Islamic guerilla training compounds in Virginia, Georgia and New York as places where he could go for jihadist training when he left the prison system. These training camps have been identified as Muslims of the Americas (MOA) compounds.

MOA has been identified by the FBI as a terrorist organization in America which also runs compounds in a number of other states.

Shoe bomber Richard Reid

Shoe bomber Richard Reid

MOA is known to have recruited many of its members from America’s prisons. One of the most notorious prison converts to Islam, who also had connections to MOA, is “shoe bomber” Richard Reid, who was radicalized in a British prison. Reid tried to blow up an airplane with a bomb in his shoe that failed to properly detonate in 2001, en route from Paris to Miami.

Once Muslim gang members in prison have indoctrinated other prisoners into the Islamic ideology, they begin training them for jihad. Zoran’s advanced experience in martial arts techniques attracted him to Muslim gang members when he was in prison.

“They wanted me to teach advanced combat at these camps” when he got out of prison, Zoran said.

This amazing and eye-opening interview with Zoran is included on a DVD released by Christian Action Network entitled: “Sleeping Giant: Islam Behind the Wall.”

The Rise of Prison Conversions

In 2003 about 20 percent of the prison population was estimated to be Muslim. At least 80 percent of the prisoners who “find faith” in prison convert to Islam. Most of them are black, but a growing number are Hispanic.

In a 2004 report issued by the Justice Department, the nation’s federal and state prison systems were faulted for failing to protect against “infiltration by religious extremists.” That failure is obviously continuing to this day.

Some other notable converts to Islam in prison include Malcolm X, the so-called civil rights activist; Abdul Alim Musa, a Muslim-American activist;  B.G. Knocc Out, a black rapper; Charles Brooks, Jr. , a convicted murderer who converted to Islam before his execution; Flesh N Bone, a member of the rap group Bone Thugs N Harmony; H. Rap Brown, a former Black Panther who is currently in prison for murdering a police officer; Jeff Fort, a former Chicago gang leader who was convicted in 1987 of conspiring with Libya to perform acts of domestic terrorism; José Padilla, who was convicted of aiding terrorists in the “Dirty Bomb” plot; Kevin James, ringleader of the 2005 Los Angeles bomb plot; Mike Tyson, former heavyweight boxing champion;  Bernard Hopkins, former middleweight and light heavyweight boxing champion; and many others.

Recently, Secretary of State John Kerry admitted that “Three dozen U.S. citizens who converted to Islam while in prison have traveled to Yemen, possibly for al Qaeda training.”

“Organized crime is small compared to their operations” in American prisons, said Zoran. “Their master plan is numbers.” The more converts they make in prison, the more Islamists enter the free world to do their bidding—jihad.

‘Muslims of the Americas’ Depositions Reveal New Enclaves

IslambergBY RYAN MAURO:

A senior official of the Muslims of the Americas/Jamaat ul-Fuqra(MOA), a terror-linked group, said during a deposition that it has a “community” outside Anchorage, Alaska. Officials also confirmed the existence of three communes in New York, California and Michigan that have yet to be publicly pinpointed.

The comments came during depositions of three senior MOA officials after the group sued two critics, Martin Mawyer and Patti Pierucci, for $30 million for their book about MOA titled Twilight in America. The judge dismissed the lawsuit last week. Astonishingly, MOA Deputy Director Hussein Adams, the son of terrorist Barry Adams, admitted he had no information to show that the defendants lacked areasonable basis for their claims.

The MOA officials repeatedly denied being a terrorist organization, but would not provide basic details about the group. Adams was especially secretive, claiming that the group had virtually no records and that he didn’t even know the names of those on Islamberg’s town council or who was paying the bills.

MOA says it has 22 “Islamic villages” around the country, including the one named “Mahmoudberg” in Sweeny, Texas that was identified by the Clarion Project.

Other pinpointed communes include Islamberg in Hancock, NY; Holy Islamville in York County, South Carolina;  Islamville in Dover, Tennessee; Hasanville in Barry’s Bay, Ontario, Canada;  Madinah Village near Commerce, Georgia; Aliville in Odum, Georgia;Ahmadabad West in Red House, Virginia and one with an unknown name in Meherrin, Virginia.

Deputy Director Hussein Adams said that MOA has a “community” near Anchorage, Alaska. This is the first time that a MOA enclave has been reported in the state.

U.S. Judge Throws Out Islamist ‘Lawfare’ Case

moa enclave

The documentation of MOA’s extremism is so thick that its $30 million lawsuit was clearly frivolous. It was aimed at bankrupting Mawyer and Perucci and intimidating other potential critics. This Islamist tactic is often referred to as “lawfare” or “legal jihad.”

By Ryan Mauro:

Muslims of the Americas (MOA), a terror-linked group led by a radical cleric in Pakistan, suffered a defeat last week when U.S. District Judge Thomas J. McAvoy tossed out the group’s $30 million lawsuit against an author who documented MOA’s involvement in terrorism, crime and extremism.

Muslims of the Americas states on its website that is “the only indigenous American Muslim organization founded and based in the United States of America.” It claims it is moderate, non-violent and a positive force for interfaith relations. The Clarion Project’s fully-documented profile of the group tells a different story.

In January, Clarion identified an MOA enclave in Texas as proven by declassified FBI documents that clearly identify it as a jihadistenclave and terrorist threat. We have also released a MOA videotape showing its women getting guerilla training at its “Islamberg” headquarters in New York.

Moreover, MOA’s interfaith front, the United Muslim Christian Forum, is rooted in anti-Semitism.

Our revelations prompted over a dozen North American Muslim groups to endorse our initiative for the labeling of Jamaat ul-Fuqra, MOA’s parent group, as a Foreign Terrorist Organization. Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) agrees that MOA should also be designated and said our identification of an enclave in his state was “more than troubling—it’s appalling.”

The FBI document released by Clarion was recently shown on the History Channel 2’s “America’s Book of Secrets” television show on April 12, 2014. MOA accused the History Channel of committing a “direct attack against peace.”

MOA’s $30 million lawsuit was filed against Martin Mawyer and Patti Perucci after they published their book Twilight in America in 2012.  The book includes testimony from Ali Abdel Aziz, a high-level member of MOA who was an informant for the New York Police Department when he lived in “Islamberg.” Aziz says he travelled around the world for MOA, confirmed its terrorist links and expressed grave concern about the treatment of women and children inside MOA’s communes around the U.S.

Jamaat ul-Fuqra Lawfare: Case Dismissed

moa (1)Gates of Vienna:

As reported here last month, the Muslims of America (a.k.a. Jamaat ul-Fuqra) sued Marty Mawyer and the Christian Action Network over Marty’s book Twilight in America . Marty had the temerity to investigate MOA and expose some of the details of their history and current activities in the United States, so the group unleashed its lawyers in an attempt to bankrupt CAN and put it out of business.

Now comes some good news: on Friday a federal judge dismissed the case against Marty, citing a lack of standing on the part of the Muslims of America. Here’s the report from The Washington Times:

N.Y. Muslim group’s libel lawsuit against Christian organization dismissed

ALBANY, N.Y. — A federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit accusing a Christian organization of defaming a Muslim group in a book that alleged that the Muslim group conducted terrorist training.

Judge Thomas McAvoy says The Muslims of America, which incorporated last year, failed to prove it has the legal standing to sue.

He granted Christian Action Network’s motion to dismiss the suit filed last year but rejected its request for sanctions against the Muslim group for allegedly seeking $18 million in damages with no legitimate legal basis.

The suit had accused Christian network founder Martin Mawyer’s 2012 book “Twilight in America” of falsely portraying the Muslim group. The Muslim group says its communities in upstate New York and around the U.S. are peaceful.

Christian Action Network has prevailed, but their legal expenses up to this point have been substantial. Please consider contributing a few bucks at their defense fund page to help them recover their costs. Or you could buy a copy of Marty’s book — see the Amazon link on our sidebar.

Jamaat ul-Fuqra (“Community of the Impoverished”, also known as “Muslims of America”) was founded by a known terrorist, the Pakistani Sheikh Syed Mubarak Ali Hasmi Shah Gilani. Over the past thirty-five years it has established a network of dozens of rural training compounds across the United States and Canada. It recruits new members primarily through proselytizing in the prison system.

The Muslims of America Wage Legal Jihad Against the Christian Action Network

moa

Gates of Vienna, March 28, 2014:

Jamaat ul-Fuqra (a.k.a the Muslims of America, a.k.a. Muslims of the Americas, a.k.a. Quranic Open University) is an Islamic organization boasts dozens of rural compounds throughout the United States, Canada, and reportedly the Caribbean. It is headed by Sheikh Sayed Mubarik Ali Hasmi Shah Gilani, a Pakistani Sufi, who is persona non grata to the U.S. government and has been forbidden entry to the United States for several decades.

Most of the rank-and-file of Jamaat ul-Fuqra are African Americans, and many of them were recruited in the prison system. According to some accounts, the earliest membership of the organization was made up of defectors from the Nation of Islam who had become disenchanted with Louis Farrakhan and his reluctance to plan for an unconstrained violent jihad against the infidel society and government of the United States.

Back in the 1980s and early ’90s, members of Jamaat ul-Fuqra committed a series of fire-bombings, murders, and other crimes, many of them targeting Hindus. Sheikh Gilani reportedly reined them in later in the 1990s, and most of their crimes since have been confined to non-violent offenses such as money-laundering, welfare fraud, product counterfeiting, and unauthorized trafficking in firearms.

For a few years the State Department listed Muslims of America as a terrorist organization, but that designation was mysteriously withdrawn in the year 2000.

Jamaat ul-Fuqra became prominent in the news for a number of weeks in late 2002 and early 2003 when it was revealed that intelligence officials believed that the “Beltway Sniper” John Alan Muhammad had holed up in the MOA compound in Red House, Virginia, during a break from his murder spree in the fall of 2002. After that brief flurry of interest, the JuF story died out until it was picked up in this space, in the earliest days of Gates of Vienna.

When I read those news stories in The Washington Times late in 2002, I was brought up short by the name “Red House”, which I knew to be a tiny hamlet in the middle of rural Charlotte County. I was familiar with the place, having passed through it numerous times on my way to various places. How could Red House be the home of a Muslim terror-training compound?

So I took my camera and paid a visit to Red House one Saturday afternoon in October 2005, intending to write up my findings here at Gates of Vienna.

The rest, as they say, is history. My report went viral, and the story spread rapidly through the blogosphere. Other dedicated individuals and groups took up the research and investigation, notably CP and the Christian Action Network.

A few months later I retired from first-hand investigation of Jamaat ul-Fuqra, at Dymphna’s behest. She was concerned that our proximity to the compounds in Red House and Meherrin might put us in personal danger. Fortunately, there were plenty of capable people looking into the doings of the Muslims of America by then, and media interest in the group has increased even further in the intervening years. The most recent revelations, concerning an MOA enclave in Texas, were broken by Ryan Mauro for the Clarion Project.

For the past eight years Marty Mawyer of the Christian Action Network has been one of the most stalwart and courageous investigators of Sheikh Gilani and the Muslims of America. Marty has visited and overflown several compounds, and even discovered at least one compound that was previously unknown to the FBI.

Marty’s work has not gone unnoticed by Sheikh Gilani and his American lawyers: the Muslims of America have now filed a $30 million lawsuit against Marty and the Christian Action Network. As we all know, the primary goal of “lawfare” is not to win one’s case, but to bankrupt one’s adversary. The legal jihad by MOA is designed to drain CAN of its funds and force it to give up any further investigation of Jamaat ul-Fuqra.

Marty Mawyer has launched a legal defense fund to help defer some of the expenses of fighting the lawsuit. Below is his video appeal:

Marty recently sent out the following email asking interested citizens for financial help:

I have just launched a campaign to help us defend ourselves against a Muslim terrorist organization that is suing us for $30 million.

Please go to this web site if you can help us at all to defend ourselves in this massive federal lawsuit.

I have some bombshell news to report:

After years of sounding the alarm about this Muslim terrorist group that lives and operates on dozens of enclaves around the nation …

… the FBI has just declassified a report that confirms EVERYTHING I have been saying.

This is important validation for our work, and for my book, “Twilight in America” — which exposes the activities of this Islamic organization.

But now that “the jig is up” for this group — which is known as Muslims of America (MOA) — how do we get them shut down for good?

FIRST, Christian Action Network is supporting Congressman Louis Gohmert of Texas in his efforts to get Congress and our national leaders to take this threat seriously.

Rep. Gohmert is deeply concerned about this MOA group
because he is a true patriot who cares about America’s safety …

… and because MOA operates one of its enclaves in his state of Texas.

In fact, a member of this terrorist group shot another member in Texas in a brutal slaying a few years ago.

SECOND, Christian Action Network must be able to continue our work to expose MOA and get them shut down.

MOA is a front group for a notorious jihadist network that operates out of Pakistan known as Jamaat Al Fuqra. This is the same group linked to the beheading of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl and “Shoe Bomber” Richard Reid.

They have committed at least 10 known murders in the U.S., plus fire-bombings, terrorist attacks and plots. They were even involved in the first World Trade Center bombing!

What’s more, the FBI has revealed that they were involved in a coup attempt to overthrow the Caribbean nations of Trinidad and Tobago!!

Our biggest obstacle to shutting down this group and continuing our work with Congress is a massive multi-million-dollar federal lawsuit brought against me, my co-author and our tiny organization by leaders of this TERRORIST ORGANIZATION!

That’s right. My book, “Twilight in America,” exposes MOA’s illegal terrorist activities in America … and proves what the FBI has just confirmed in their declassified document:

That they are still training for jihad — and they are still intent on harming Americans.

Their lawsuit demands a federal court stop publication of my book, place a gag order on me, my organization and my co-author …

… and they are asking for $30 million in compensation for “causing them harm” by publishing the truth about their group.

As you can imagine, the onslaught from this MOA group is horrific. The lies and distortions coming from them are shattering to our tiny organization.

Christian Action Network is a national organization with a major impact on U.S. policy going back more than two decades. But we do our work on a shoestring budget — and we are funded solely through gifts from friends and supporters of our causes and issues.

This lawsuit will shut us down in just a few months if we don’t have some financial help.

Our legal expenses alone have already totaled more than $180,000 and are totaling about $15,000 per month — that’s on top of our monthly operating expenses, overhead, salaries for our small staff, and supplies.

We urgently need supporters to help us pay our legal bills so we can fight these Islamic jihadists where it counts the most right now: in the American courtroom.

We have launched a national campaign to raise $30,000 to offset our legal fees. For a gift as small as just $4 you can download a resource that explains the history of this MOA group in detail.

And for a gift of just $25, I will send you the book that started it all — “Twilight in America.” This Amazon best-seller has sparked a major national debate that has exposed these radicals for what they are!

Any donation through our campaign web site will go toward keeping Christian Action Network in operation, continuing the publication of our book, and — most important — our exorbitant legal expenses to fight this suit.

Could there be more important issues than preserving our First Amendment right to speak the truth without being sued … having our book banned … or having to pay $30 million to Islamic radicals who hate America?

God only knows how they will use $30 million of money from CHRISTIANS to further their jihadist goals!!

You can help prevent this from happening by sending any amount to help through this web site.

Do you agree that we have the right to expose radical terrorist training in America?

Do you agree we have the right to publish this group’s documented criminal history of murders, assassinations, drug crimes, welfare fraud, weapons crimes, and more?

Please help with a gift. We are a verified non-profit organization, and your gift is tax-deductible to the fullest extent the law allows.

Thank you for your help, and may God bless you.

Coming soon: America’s own Islamic ‘no-go’ zones

usa_map_web-terror-campsBy Bob Unruh:

Coming soon to dozens of locations across the United States: America’s own “no-go” zones where Muslims install their own courts, government, justice and punishment, much like the zones that already exist across the European Union.

That’s according to Martin Mawyer of the Christian Action Network.

His organization has been so strong in its opposition to radical Muslim expansion in the U.S., he’s been targeted in a $30 million defamation lawsuit by a group called Muslims of the Americas, founded by Pakistan Sheik Mubarak Ali Gilani.

The claims are that Muslims of the Americas was damaged by CAN’s publication of the book “Twilight in America: The Untold Story of Islamist Terrorist Training Camps Inside America.”

The book accuses Muslims of the Americas of “acting as a front for the radical Islamist group Jamaat al-Fuqra.”

CAN leaders Tuesday told WND the case is at the stage of exchanging documents in preparation for further discovery.

Mawyer recently told Fox News that the leaders of the Muslim organization “feel they have to defend themselves to their own members,” because he would have expected the case to be dropped. It is based on the claims of a former New York informant who posed as a member of the Muslims group and alleged it was involved in “street crimes, drugs, brothels, unemployment fraud and other offenses.”

There is no question that terror training camps exist across the U.S. According to a documentary,  “Homegrown Jihad: The Terrorist Camps Around the U.S.,” there are nearly three dozen Islamist terrorist training compounds operating under the name Muslims of the Americas.

The documentary states: “Under the leadership of a radical Pakistani cleric, Sheik Mubarak Gilani, Muslims of the Americas has thousands of devoted followers who are being groomed for homegrown jihad.”

The project by CAN “exposes these dangerous terrorist compounds and reveals for the first time a secret training tape in which American Muslims are recruited to join one of the most advanced training courses in Islamic military warfare … right here in America.”

Training includes instructions in “explosives, kidnapping, murder, firing weapons and guerrilla warfare,” the documentary explains.

Mawyer told WND he now has learned that the Muslim organization is attempting to model the previously secretive training camps after the European “no-go” zones.

Across the EU, there are enclaves where Muslims make up almost 100 percent of the population. They have been known to set up Shariah religious-law courts alongside secular court systems. They exert control over every facet of life, up to and including applying Islamic limits to what people do, say, wear and believe.

“What they’re trying to do is step up from the training camp, the secretive, plotting location … and become their own state within a state,” he told WND.

Law enforcement often even is afraid to enter such zones, he noted.

Then, he said, they want to “connect the dots” and link all of the “no-go” zones together.

Author says Muslim group’s $30M libel suit will expose terror ties

1376345607By :

The shadowy leader of an American Muslim organization accused of running terror training camps in the U.S. could find himself being questioned under oath if his outfit follows through on its $30 million defamation suit against the Christian group that leveled the charges in a best-selling book.

Muslims of the Americas, a group founded in the 1980s by elusive Pakistani Sheikh Mubarak Ali Gilani, is suing the Christian Action Network for defamation and libel following CAN’s recent publication of the book “Twilight in America: The Untold Story of Islamist Terrorist Training Camps Inside America.” Co-authored by CAN founder Martin Mawyer and Patti Pierucci, the book accuses MOA of “acting as a front for the radical Islamist group Jamaat al-Fuqra.”

In the suit, filed this year in federal court in Albany, N.Y., the Muslim group accuses Mawyer, Pierucci and CAN of “malicious, repetitious and continuous pronouncements and publication of defamatory statements against plaintiff.”

“We’re calling their bluff,” said Mawyer. “I would have thought this would have been dropped a while ago, but I guess they feel they have to defend themselves to their own members.”

Many of the book’s allegations are based on the claims of a former NYPD undercover informant who spent eight years posing as a member of the Muslim group, which has secretive bases in rural areas around the country, including Hancock, N.Y., and York County, S.C.

The book alleges organized criminal activity on the part of MOA and claims profits from “street crimes, drugs, brothels, unemployment fraud and other offenses” have been funneled to Jamaat al-Fuqra. Part of the money has been used to establish a series of Jihadi training camps on American soil, according to the book.

Both Muslims of the Americas — made up primarily of African-American converts to Islam — and the Pakistan-based Jamaat al-Fuqra, are guided by Sheikh Mubarik Ali Gilani, a highly controversial cleric who lived in the U.S. during the 1980s and who was the subject of an investigation by the late Wall Street Journal journalist Daniel Pearl.

In 2002, Pearl was in Pakistan on his way to a pre-arranged interview with Gilani when he was kidnapped by Al Qaeda and eventually beheaded in a brutal case that shocked the world. Gilani was questioned in relation to the investigation but released without being charged.

“Twilight in America” highlights some 17 purported terrorist training camps inside the U.S. Mawyer said he learned of the camps from NYPD informant Ali Aziz, who said one of the camps – often attended by 100 or more followers — was only 30 miles away from the CAN office in Forest, Va.

Aziz allegedly passed on vital information to authorities about MOA’s plans, its activities across the U.S., and the powerful presence of Gilani.

“If Gilani told everyone, ‘Set yourselves on fire,’ everybody would burn themselves,” Aziz toldwww.christianaction.org. “This has been going on for 30 years. And people praise him. They give him money. They kiss his feet. It’s crazy.”

Despite the evidence presented in the book, neither MOA nor Jamaat al-Fuqra is currently designated by the U.S. as a terrorist organization.

New Book Twilight in America Exposes Islamic Camps Where Americans Train for JIHAD

Christian Action Network:

FOREST, VA—An informant with the New York Police Department (NYPD) , who worked for eight years undercover in Muslim American compounds, reveals that the group known as Muslims of the Americas has been training its members to wage jihad—holy war—against American citizens for decades, and has created a secret jihadi army within the United States.

The undercover informant, Ali Aziz of New York, was drafted by the NYPD to inform on Muslims of the Americas (MOA) as part of a long-term, ongoing surveillance program of potential Islamic terrorist activity conducted by the NYPD.

Aziz, who said he wants to tell his story and put an end to his double life, insists he has given enough information of criminal activity—including guerilla training exercises; stockpiling illegal weapons; welfare fraud; physical abuse of women, children and elderly MOA members; forced polygamous marriages—to law enforcement to shut down the camps.

Aziz’s story is told in a new book published by PRB Publishing, Twilight in America: The Untold Story of Islamic Terror Training Camps in America, by Christian Action Network President Martin Mawyer. In it, Aziz reveals that MOA has established a secret army of well-trained Islamists who are ready to attack “at one word” from their leader in Pakistan, Sheikh Mubarik Ali Gilani.

“It’s very simple,” Ali says in the book. “MOA is asleep. They are asleep. They are a bomb.”

MOA was founded in the 1980s by Sheikh Gilani as a front group for the more radical terrorist network known as Jamaat Al Fuqra (“community of the impoverished”).  The group has recruited mostly from the black community, beginning in New York City where Gilani began cementing power. Since then, Al Fuqra has been linked to at least 17 terrorist-related crimes in the United States going back to the 1980s, among them welfare fraud, white-collar crimes, gun running, firebombing, drug crimes, weapons crimes and murder.

An Al Fuqra member was convicted in 2009 of murdering a rival imam in Tucson, Ariz., in 1990, after stabbing him at least 19 times. The group was also involved in the first World Trade Center bombing in 1993, and the Day of Terror plot in 1993—in which numerous New York City landmarks, including the Holland and Lincoln tunnels, were targeted for attack.

In Twilight in America, Aziz describes his work as an undercover informant for the NYPD, how they promised to make his immigration problems go away if he would provide them with information about his associates within MOA.

“This is what the NYPD had wanted for the past 20 years,” Aziz said of his move to the Hancock, New York, headquarters of MOA. “They wanted someone living inside the Hancock camp who’s an undercover informant.”

Aziz’s martial arts skills were highly valued within MOA, and they drafted him to help train recruits and members. Because of his education and ability to speak both Arabic and English, Aziz worked closely with the MOA leadership, including Hancock leader Barry (Hussein) Adams, who Aziz says will one day become the leader of MOA worldwide.

Crimes committed by MOA members go beyond financial, drug running and thievery, Aziz revealed. “A lot of the children that grow up there become drug dealers. Some become murderers …

“I was providing information to the NYPD about people who committed some very serious crimes. I’m talking about  … What is the worse crime you can commit?

“I have evidence … bad people. And people got hurt very badly. And guess what? The crimes haven’t been solved. The NYPD can solve these crimes. They could solve them. They have the evidence.”

It’s unclear how many MOA compounds are in existence today. At one time the State Department identified 35 compounds in rural areas of the United States, including: Philadelphia, Pa.; Fairfax, Va.; Redhouse, Va.; York, S.C.; Commerce, Ga.; Jessup, Ga.; Buena Vista, Co. (raided and shut down in 1992); Baladulla, Ca. (raided and shut down in 2002); and more.

As noted above, several compounds been shut down after law enforcement raids discovered illegal activity being conducted. Others have purposely disbanded, according to Aziz, with members assimilating into nearby neighborhoods. This is what Aziz meant when he said “they are asleep,” according to the author.

The most shocking revelation came when Aziz told the author of Twilight in America that MOA has formed a secret army within the United States ready to carry out Sheikh Gilani’s orders. Although he said MOA no longer does “mass military training” at its camps—because they know they are being watched by law enforcement—they still have members ready to be called up.

“It’s like a formed military squad,” Aziz says in the book. “It’s certain groups. Certain individuals. Certain names. Certain guys. It is a very, very select group they have. It’s a lot of people. But it’s not like they train every day. It’s various people training in different positions.”

Twilight in America also delves into the kidnapping, beheading and dismemberment in 2002 of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl. Pearl was in Pakistan investigating links between the shoebomber (Richard Reid) and Al Fuqra/MOA. Pearl was on his way to an interview in Pakistan with Sheikh Gilani when he was kidnapped. Although Gilani was briefly detained and questioned in 2002 in Pakistan following Pearl’s death, he was released and never charged. In his book, Mawyer researches the links between the self-confessed murderer of Pearl, Khalid Sheikh Muhammad, Gilani and other terrorists involved in the kidnapping.

“Muslims of the Americas pretends to be a peaceful organization of poor Muslims who want to live separated from the rest of the world, free to practice their religion away from American influences,” says author Mawyer. “Nothing could be further from the truth. There are so many connections to terrorist activity, not to mention connections to the Muslim Brotherhood and proven, prosecuted acts of terrorism, white-collar crime and outright murder, that law enforcement needs to shut these camps down.”

Mawyer believes the information provided by Aziz, as well as other undercover informants, is more than enough to raid the camps, rescue the abused members, and shut them down—but law enforcement at all levels is afraid to act against them for fear of being labeled anti-Muslim.

“I hope this book is a wake-up call to American citizens,” said Mawyer. “It is not a question of being anti-Muslim to investigate and shut these camps. It is a question of being anti-terrorism … and keeping America safe.”
