JIHADIS AND FELLOW TRAVELERS WANT A USG RE-EDUCATION PROGRAM

muslimgroupcoalitionBreitbart, by CLARE M. LOPEZ:

In a chilling 14 August 2014 letter to Lisa O. Monaco, Homeland Security and Counterterrorism advisor at the National Security Council (NSC), reminiscent of the Red Chinese and Soviet gulags, a group of 75 signatories urged the Obama administration to “implement a mandatory retraining program for all federal, state, and local law enforcement officers” who have been exposed to “anti-Muslim” training.

Former FBI counter-terrorism Special Agent, former head of the FBI SWAT team and former combat Marine John Guandolo– a member of the Center for Security Policy (CSP) Team B IIand Founder of Understanding the Threat– was singled out for particular criticism, as was FBI analyst William Gawthrop.

Among the signatories to the letter are CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations, the U.S. HAMAS wing), the Council of Islamic Organizations of Greater Chicago (CIOGC), which includes Helping Hand for Relief & Development USA, the charitable wing of Muslim Brotherhood front group, Islamic Circle of North America), the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC), and the Muslim Alliance in North America (MANA), whose Executive Committee includes the likes of Siraj Wahhaj (named an unindicted co-conspirator in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing) and Ihsan Bagby (member of several U.S. Muslim Brotherhood organizations including the Fiqh Council of North America, the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), and the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR)). To round out the Islamic representation, there are two Shi’ite affiliates, the Imam Hussain Islamic Center and Universal Muslim Association of America (UMAA, which seems to have only a Facebook presence online).

Joining them in signing the letter was a gaggle of fellow travelers drawn from across a span of leftist organizations. Perhaps it’s all the ghastly publicity from the Middle East that’s been drawing attention to how Islamic Law (shariah) really looks when it’s implemented in all its barbaric fulsomeness. Or maybe the signatories just decided it was time for the old Red-Green alliance to reprise the glory days of its original efforts to remove training about how Islamic terrorism takes its inspiration from Islamic doctrine, when a 19 October 2011 letter to Monaco’s predecessor, John Brennan, succeeded in launching a U.S. government-wide purge of such curriculum. Then again, it’s possible somebody pulled out a dog-eared copy of Saul Alinsky’s “Rules for Radicals” to review some tips on how to neutralize Guandolo’s stunningly effective law enforcement training about Islam, shariah, and the Muslim Brotherhood.

The Red-Green coalition obviously has realized (likely with dawning horror) that even if Guandolo weren’t still out there reaching sheriffs’ departments across the country, the residual effects of earlier pre-purge training still inform countless law enforcement counterterrorism programs. And the thought that such training lately must only be reinforced by the never-ending stream of atrocities out of the Middle East may have been just enough to tip the group over into serious panic. Hence the letter to Ms. Monaco to urge a little brainwashing, just to make sure nobody somehow connects any of those awful beheadings and crucifixions with Islam (see Qur’anic verses 8:12 and 5:32-33 for details).

First came the physical purge of the training materials. Now must follow the psychological purge of all those minds that absorbed that training. Stalin and Mao—never mind Qutb and Khomeini—would be so proud.

BY RYAN MAURO:

Former President Jimmy Carter will speak and sign books at the 51stannual convention of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), the organization has announced. Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN) is also listed as a speaker on its program.

The U.S. Justice Department labeled ISNA an unindicted co-conspirator in the largest terrorism-financing trial in American history and listed the group as a Muslim Brotherhood entity. The event’s speaker lineup includes many Islamist radicals, debunking the moderate image ISNA puts forth.

The name of this year’s conference is, “GenerationsRise: Elevating Muslim American Culture.” It will be held in Detroit on August 29-September 1.

Clarion Project analysis in March showed that ISNA’s religious leadership is made up of radicals, including one whose deportation is sought by the Department of Homeland Security because of his links to Hamas.

Sayyid Syeed, former ISNA Secretary-General and current National Director of its Office of Interfaith and Community Alliances, was videotaped in 2006 declaring, “Our job is to change the constitution of America.”

1991 U.S. Muslim Brotherhood memo explicitly identifies ISNA and its various components among its fronts. The memo states the Brotherhood network’s “work in America is a kind of grand jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within.” Another Muslim Brotherhood document from 1988 states ISNA is part of its “apparatus.”

In 2007, the Justice Department labeled ISNA an unindicted co-conspirator in the successful trial of the Holy Land Foundation, a Muslim Brotherhood front found to be financing Hamas. The U.S. government also listed ISNA as one of the “individuals/entities who are and/or were members of the U.S. Muslim Brotherhood.”

Specifically, federal prosecutors revealed how checks for the “Palestinian Mujahideen” were deposited into ISNA accounts and then transferred to the Holy Land Foundation for distribution to Hamas. A federal judge upheld the unindicted co-conspirator designation in 2009, citing “ample” justification and observing that the Foundation “operated from within ISNA.”

ISNA’s Canadian affiliate lost its charitable status last year due toevidence it was financing Pakistani terrorist groups, but ISNA claims it has nothing to do with ISNA-Canada.

ISNA portrays itself as the leader of the Muslim-American community, but a 2011 Gallup poll found that only 4% of Muslim-American males and 7% of females see ISNA as the group that most represents their interests. Nonetheless, its organizational capabilities and high profile have given it access to American leadership on a bi-partisan basis.

ISNA, like other American Islamist groups with radical backgrounds, were also embraced by the Bush Administration following the September 11, 2001 attacks. Last year, President Obama delivered avideotaped address for ISNA’s convention, praising it despite that event’s extremist lecturers.

This year’s event is no different. Carter is adding his name to a lineup that includes:

Imam Siraj Wahhaj, whose history of extremist and anti-American incitement is too long to review. For example, in 1992, he said, “If only Muslims were clever politically, they could take over the United States and replace its constitutional government with a Caliphate. If we were united and strong, we’d elect our own emir and give allegiance to him. Take my word, if eight million Muslims unite in America, the country will come to us.”

His rhetoric became more cautious after the 9/11 attacks. In 2011, he preached, “The trap we fall into is having a premature discussion about sharia when we are not there yet.” In November, the New York Police Department disclosed frightening information about his mosque’s activity.

He is scheduled to teach at the conference on the topic of elevating Muslim-American culture.

Evidence Supports NYPD Counter-Terrorism Ops

NYPD3

Better that the NYPD be falsely accused of racial profiling by terrorism-linked Islamists than surrender its duties to protect the country.

BY RYAN MAURO:

Three Islamic organizations and three individuals suing the New York Police Department (NYPD) for religious profiling have significant ties to extremism and terrorism, according to an NYPD letter filed on September 10.

The NYPD is under heavy fire for its counter-terrorism intelligence-gathering operations. The Islamist targets of that surveillance and their interfaith allies accuse the NYPD of conducting blanket surveillance of Muslims without justification.

The NYPD letter states:

“Nor did the NYPD target mosques wholesale for surveillance simply because the attendees were Muslim; rather, the NYPD followed leads suggesting that certain individuals in certain mosques may be engaging in criminal, and possibly terrorist, activity, and investigated those individuals where they happened to be, including, at times, in certain mosques.”

The NYPD explains that surveillance of individuals in Brooklyn’s Masjid At-Taqwa, one of the organizations suing the NYPD,is justified by an abundance of evidence.

The mosque is led by Imam Siraj Wahhaj, a very radical cleric that has preached in favor of violent jihad. Wahhaj was also named a possible unindicted co-conspirator in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing and testified on behalf of the terrorists involved. The NYPD says there is evidence that the mosque was used by its assistant imam to raise money for terrorist groups.

The mosque allegedly has a “gun club” and its security team and some attendees have illegally procured weapons. The security team has been taught how to disarm law enforcement officers and the mosque’s martial arts classes have been attended by individuals convicted on terrorism charges.

The mosque has organized paintball trips and survival training. At least one was attended by Farooque Ahmed, who pled guilty to trying to bomb the Washington, D.C. metro. During one paintball exercise, the security team leader called his teammates “jihad warriors” and ordered them to “form up, jihad assassins.”

Ford Interfaith Network Embraces CAIR-Michigan

Dawud Walid

CAIR-MI’s Dawud Walid, says the FBI is ‘manufacturing their own terrorism.’ He has spoken at Ford three times.

BY RYAN MAURO:

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), a U.S. Muslim Brotherhood entity linked to the Hamas terrorist group, is boasting that the Executive Director of its Michigan chapter, Dawud Walid, spoke at Ford World Headquarters in Dearborn on October 24.

According to CAIR’s press release, it was the third time that Walid spoke for the Ford Interfaith Network’s yearly gathering. He was put on a pedestal as the event’s keynote speaker.

The federal government designated CAIR an unindicted co-conspirator in the largest terrorism-financing trial in U.S. history. It listed CAIR as an “entity” of the U.S. Muslim Brotherhood’s Palestine Committee, a secret body that was set up to advance the agenda of Hamas in America.

The designation was upheld by a federal judge in 2009 because of “ample” evidence linking CAIR to Hamas. The FBI ended its use of CAIR as an outreach partner in July 2008 because of this evidence.

Federal prosecutors stated in a court filing, “From its founding by Muslim Brotherhood leaders, CAIR conspired with other affiliates of the Muslim Brotherhood to support terrorists…the conspirators agreed to use deception to conceal from the American public their connections to terrorists.”

CAIR’s founders previously belonged to the pro-Hamas Islamic Association for Palestine, a group that is now defunct. A 1991 U.S. Muslim Brotherhood memo unequivocally identifies the group as part of its apparatus. The memo says its “work in America as a kind of grand jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within.”

CAIR is also extremely hostile to rival Muslims that oppose its Islamist doctrine that is friendly to the Muslim Brotherhood. In May, CAIR lashed out at a moderate Muslim group without provocation, essentially accusing it of being a Trojan Horse and traitor to the Muslim community.

The Investigative Project on Terrorism has a 16-page report chronicling Walid’s extremist record. He has a history of incendiary rhetoric against the U.S. government and Jews and his CAIR chapter fundraises with the assistance of some of the most extreme Islamists around.

******

If Dawud Walid and CAIR-MI are moderates, why would they use Wahhaj to fundraise—and why would Wahhaj agree to help the group fundraise?

We have sent an email to Ford asking the company to reconsider its embrace of CAIR and whether it has donated to the organization or its events. We will update you on any response we receive.

Stoning, Terrorism Defender Keynotes D.C. Banquet

130928SirajWahhaj-340x170WASHINGTON – It was a sellout crowd at the Council of American-Islamic Relations’ 19th annual fundraising banquet this weekend at the Crystal Gateway Marriott in Arlington, Va.

And one of the featured attractions was a notorious imam who has variously supported stoning or jailing apostates of Islam, the arming of American Muslims and turning the U.S. into an Islamic state governed by Saudi-style Shariah law.

Siraj Wahhaj is also one of the unindicted co-conspirators of the 1993 bombing at the World Trade Center.

“He has a message of Islam reigning supreme, and mixed with his message is the fact of the U.S. being an evil country, and defending terrorism,” said Steven Emerson, a former CNN newsman who now heads the Investigative Project on Terrorism, one of the world’s largest storehouses of archival data and intelligence on Islamic and Middle Eastern terrorist groups.

Wahhaj, a witness for blind Sheikh Omar Abdel-Rahman, convicted in the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center, is infamous for statements like this: “In time, this so-called democracy will crumble, and there will be nothing. And the only thing that will remain will be Islam. If Allah says stone them to death, through the Prophet Muhammad, then you stone them to death, because it’s the obedience of Allah and his messenger – nothing personal.”

Wahhaj has served as a board member of CAIR, a Muslim Brotherhood front group and itself an unindicted co-conspirator in the largest terrorism financing case in American history.

Wahhaj was also the first Muslim to deliver the daily prayer in the U.S. House of Representatives in 1991.

“On that occasion he recited from the Quran and appealed to the Almighty to guide American leaders,” wrote Daniel Pipes, another expert on Islam. “A little over a year later, addressing an audience of New Jersey Muslims, the same Wahhaj articulated a rather different vision from his mild and moderate invocation in the House. If only Muslims were more clever politically, he told his New Jersey listeners, they could take over the United States and replace its constitutional government with a caliphate.”

Wahhaj told the audience: “If we were united and strong, we’d elect our own emir [leader] and give allegiance to him. … [T]ake my word, if 6-8 million Muslims unite in America, the country will come to us.”

He added later in his talk: “I see the demise of the Soviet Union as a sign for the American people that what happened in the Soviet Union will definitely happen in America unless America changes its course from the new world order and accepts the Islamic agenda.”

On a religion blog, he was quoted as telling his followers that a society governed by strict Islamic law, where adulterers would be stoned to death and thieves would have their hands cut off, would be superior to American democracy.

Wahhaj has also labeled FBI and CIA agents “real terrorists,” according to a report by the New York Post.

“In time, this so-called democracy will crumble, and there will be nothing, and the only thing that will remain will be Islam,” Wahhaj said in a sermon.

As WND reported, Wahhaj – who is on record urging a violent overthrow of the “filthy” U.S. government, assisted by jihad warriors armed with Uzis – also gave a fundraising appeal for CAIR at its 15th annual banquet.

The New York City-based Clarion Fund points out Wahhaj was featured on a panel in 2005 titled, “Replacing the Constitution with the Koran: ‘Conquest or Conversion’ through Islamic Propagation.”

The Islamist Ties of ‘Religions for Peace USA’

religionsforpeace_lgBy :

Religions for Peace USA (RFPUSA), which says it is “the largest and most broadly-based representative multi-religious forum in the United States,” is holding a webinar on July 25 titled, “What You Can Learn from the Fight to End Islamophobia.” The group is yet another coalition of Islamists and their non-Muslim political allies. And, as usual, it is tarring the Islamists’ opponents as “Islamophobes.”

The webinar is being jointly held with the American Center for Outreach, a Tennessee Muslim group that will use the event to highlight its “successful challenge to the nation’s most vehemently anti-Muslim legislation in 2011.”

The seminar is being promoted by the Shoulder-to-Shoulder Campaign, another interfaith bloc allied with the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), a U.S. Muslim Brotherhood entity. You’ll notice a lot of cross-pollination if you look at the leadership of RFPUSA, Shoulder-to-Shoulder and ISNA’s declared“interfaith partners.”

Naeem Baig, President of the Islamic Circle of North America, sits on RFPUSA’s Council of Presidents and Executive Council. A 1991 U.S. Muslim Brotherhood memo identifies ICNA as one of its fronts as part of its “kind of grand jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within.” The memo instructs its members to use “the art of ‘coalitions,’ the art of ‘absorption’ and the principles of ‘cooperation.’”

ICNA’s conferences bring together the rock stars of the Islamist movement. At its 2011 event, radical imam Siraj Wahhaj advised the audience to wait to talk about Sharia because “we are not there yet.” At ICNA’s event over Memorial Day Weekend, radical imam Zaid Shakir told the audience of 32,000 that the U.S. Constitution is inferior to Sharia because Muslims and non-Muslims are equal.

Iran’s Secret ‘Interfaith’ Outreach in America

alaviBy :

The Clarion Project recently exposed how an Iranian regime front based in New York donated to over 30 colleges and over 60 Islamic centers and organizations in North America. Like Sunni Islamists, the Shiite Iranian regime also finds interfaith engagement to be a worthwhile investment.

The data was found by combing the website and published financial reports of the Alavi Foundation, an alleged Iranian regime front. The Foundation’s offices were searched after evidence surfaced that it was sending money to a bank that is sanctioned by the U.S. because of its role in Iran’s nuclear program. U.S. government investigator said “the government of Iran really controlled everything about the foundation.”

One of the Alavi Foundation’s primary functions is to influence public opinion. U.S. officials said that it “promotes Tehran’s views on world affairs” and a prominent Iranian in California bluntly accuses it of being part of the regime’s “propaganda machine.” This should put the foundation’s donations in new light, especially when the money went to major power players like the William J. Clinton Foundation, which received $30,000 in 2005.

The Alavi Foundation is not a small operation. Its 2010 financial report states that the market value of all its assets was almost $125 million. To this day, the Alavi Foundation is accepting applications for grants from its “interfaith dialogue and religious pluralism” initiative. The page states that the organization has funded interfaith conferences at the Temple of Understanding in New York, Eastern Mennonite University in Virginia and Hartford Seminary in Connecticut.

The Alavi Foundation’s financial reports and website disclose that it donated heavily to the Catholic University of America in Washington D.C., making contributions of $45,000 in 2007; $60,000 in 2006; and $75,000 in 2005 and 2004.

The Roman Catholic Sacred Heart University in Connecticut received $5,000 in 2008; $39,000 in 2007; $60,000 in 2006; $10,000 in 2005 and $3,000 in 2004.

Hartford Seminary, a theological college, was awarded $35,000 in September 2012; $47,000 in August 2011 and $17,500 in 2008. The International Institute of Islamic Thought (IIIT), a U.S. Muslim Brotherhood entity, also has a close relationship with Hartford University and donated over $1 million to endow a chair in Islamic Chaplaincy.

Eastern Mennonite University received $20,000 from the Alavi Foundation in 2010. The IIIT has also partnered with this Christian school. In August 2011, the director of the University’s Center for Interfaith Engagement attended an IIIT fundraiser.

The Iranian regime front also donated $5,000 to the Interfaith Center of Greater Philadelphia in 2009. Last month, we exposed how two colleagues of radical imam Siraj Wahhaj have had official positions in the Center. Wahhaj has restrained his rhetoric a bit since 9/11 out of necessity. In 2011, he advised Muslims not to discuss Sharia Law because “we aren’t there yet.”

Popular Muslim Imam: Working Towards Sharia for America

siraj

Sirhaj Wahhaj

By Ryan Mauro:

In 2011, popular Imam Siraj Wahhaj offered Muslims a recommendation: Don’t talk about Sharia Law because “we are not there yet.” He didn’t argue for an interpretation of Sharia that is permanently compatible with the West. Instead, he advised that Muslims be quiet for now, in accordance with the Muslim Brotherhood’s doctrine of “gradualism.”

The most unsettling thing about Wahhaj’s sermons is that he’s extremely influential. He isn’t on the fringe. These quotes are known, but major Muslim-American organizations still put him on stage as a voice of wisdom.

“The trap we fall into is having a premature discussion about Sharia when we are not there yet,” Wahhaj said at the 2011 annual Islamic Circle of North America-Muslim American Society convention.

Wahhaj’s past, less-restrained preaching about Sharia law replacing the U.S. Constitution proves that he isn’t talking about Sharia as a personal code of conduct, like praying five times a day and abstaining from alcohol. He is talking about a political system. Consider what he has said when he wasn’t under the microscope as much:

“Islam is better than democracy. Allah will cause his deen [Islam as a complete way of life], Islam to prevail over every kind of system, and you know what? It will happen.”

A Radical Imam’s Infiltration of Philadelphia

0-450x337By Ryan Mauro:

Radical Imam Siraj Wahhaj isn’t who comes to mind when you think of interfaith partnerships, but two of his associates have served at the Interfaith Center of Greater Philadelphia. The two are colleagues of Wahhaj and they lead their own Islamist groups, one of which even used to go by the name of International Muslim Brotherhood.

Wahhaj’s notable quotes include, “America is the most wicked government on the face of the planet Earth” and “If only Muslims were clever politically, they could take over the United States and replace its constitutional government with a caliphate.” He is also listed as “unindicted person who may be alleged as co-conspirators” in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.

Wahhaj is the Amir of the Muslim Alliance in North America (MANA). Two of its Shura Council members have served on the board of the Interfaith Center of Greater Philadelphia. The Interfaith Center boasts that in 2010 it “served nearly 10,000 individuals, partnered with more than 150 local religious congregations and institutions and two dozen civic and service organizations…”

MANA Shura Council member Anwar Muhaimin is on the Interfaith Center’s board of directors and is one of its founders. He is also a member of the Interfaith Center’s Religious Leaders Council of Philadelphia, which organized the inaugural prayer services for Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter. Muhaimin currently leads the Quba Institute, previously called the International Muslim Brotherhood.

Although Muhaimin was educated in Saudi Arabia, he says he is not a Salafist and that his group is not affiliated with the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood. However, its website has said that it’s been long partnered with the Muslim Students Association, a group that a 1991 U.S. Muslim Brotherhood memo lists as one of “our organizations and the organizations of our friends.” More alarmingly, the Quba Institute’s former website said that Sudanese Muslim Brotherhood cleric Hasan al-Turabi was “instrumental in contributing instruction.” Al-Turabi has been called the “The Pope of Terrorism.”

Other supporters of the Quba Institute/International Muslim Brotherhood include Abdul-Hamid Abu Sulayman, former rector of the Islamic University of Malaysia and Medhat Hassanein, former Egyptian Finance Minister. The website used to acknowledge that they and al-Turabi “added their voices and their efforts to replenish and support International Muslim Brotherhood’s educational agenda.”

The former website of Muhaimin’s organization also said it rejects “’jihad al-saif’ (armed warfare) under one condition: unless in the context of self-defense or guarding the sacred, holy lands of Islam.”

Largest U.S. Muslim Group Features Terror in Flagship Publication

2422069_origBy Joe Kaufman:

The Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) is the largest Muslim organization in the United States and Canada. It encompasses youth movements — including the largest Islamic collegiate group, the Muslim Students Association (MSA) — as well as hundreds of mosques throughout North America.

ISNA issues a bi-monthly publication titled Islamic Horizons. At face value, the magazine seems innocuous. However, it is filled with features and advertisements linked to radical Islamic thought and activity.

A feature story from the January/February 2013 issue covers the life of Nihad Awad, and how he came to found the Council on American-Islamic Relations. CAIR was established as a part of an umbrella organization created by then-global head of Hamas, Mousa Abu Marzook. Awad founded CAIR with two others via the then-American Hamas propaganda wing [1], the Islamic Association for Palestine (IAP), in which Awad held a leadership position.

The article conveniently leaves out the associations with Hamas of Awad and CAIR.

Another story in the same issue promotes Siraj Wahhaj, the imam of Brooklyn’s al-Taqwa mosque. This is the same Siraj Wahhaj named by the U.S. government as an “unindicted co-conspirator” for a trial dealing with the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center, an act which resulted in the deaths of six innocent Americans. Wahhaj had been linked to the bombmaker of the attack [2], Clement Rodney Hampton-El, and during the trial he was a character witness for the spiritual leader of the attack — “Blind Sheikh” Omar Abdel Rahman — whom Wahhaj has openly praised.

Page 2 of last month’s issue of IH carried a full-page advertisement for Islamic Relief, asking readers to donate $10 for “Palestine emergency aid.” In May 2006, Israel labeled Islamic Relief a front for Hamas [3] after arresting the group’s Gaza program manager, Ayaz Ali, for providing “funds and assistance to various Hamas institutions and organizations.” Ali admitted that he had cooperated with local Hamas operatives.

Inside the Muslim Student Association Conference, Part 2

newlogo-450x297By Mark Tapson:

To read Part I, click here

In the previous installment of this short series on the recent 15th Annual Muslim Student Association (MSA) West Conference, which I attended at the University of California, Santa Barbara, I gave a general overview of the conference. The article summarized its pro-Palestinian political agenda, its preoccupation with hyping the threat of Islamophobia, its appeal to political activism in addition to its emphasis on strengthening one’s Muslim faith and community, and its support from some of the most influential Muslim Brotherhood front groups in America. Now let’s look at some of the principal individual speakers involved and their messages.

Edina Lekovic

Edina Lekovic

The conference featured a range of professors, imams, businesspeople, media representatives, linguists, and even engineers. The biggest names were Imam Siraj Wahhaj and Edina Lekovich, Director of Policy and Programming for MPAC, the Muslim Public Affairs Council. Lekovich, a prominent Islamic face in the mainstream media, has claimed in the past that Muslims are everywhere being slaughtered by “Zionists,” and she edited a UCLA Muslim student paper that cast doubt on Holocaust claims and praised Ayatollah Khomeini and bin Laden as freedom fighters. At the UCSB conference her topic was “Beyond the Muslim Bubble,” which emphasized the very innocuous-sounding aim of “integrating ourselves into American society” to “build bridges with non-Muslims”: “We weren’t made to sit on the sidelines and not play an active role in society.”

Siraj Wahhhaj

Siraj Wahhhaj

Siraj Wahhaj, the imam of the Al-Taqwa mosque in Brooklyn, spoke at two main sessions at the conference: “Messengers of the Messenger,” about committing oneself to carrying forth the message of Muhammad today, and “Cultivating Our Own Spring,” about “actualizing our potential” to create a concrete foundation and strategy for the future. Both of his presentations were very vague and rambling. In the program booklet’s biography of Wahhaj, it wasn’t mentioned that he had been named as a possible co-conspirator in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, and had invited the infamous Blind Sheikh to address his congregation several times. It neglects to point out that he advocates replacing the U.S. government with an Islamic caliphate, and has supported violent jihad. “You don’t get involved in politics because it’s the American thing to do,” Wahhaj said in 1991. “You get involved in politics because politics are a weapon to use in the cause of Islam.” A few years later he stated that “In time, democracy will crumble, and there will be nothing, and the only thing that will remain will be Islam.”

The cagey Wahhaj and Lekovich said nothing so controversial in the course of their MSA West conference sessions, however. After all, in addition to avoiding exposing their radical message to outsiders like myself, they are also keen to seduce into the Brotherhood fold any naïve Muslim students who might be in attendance. But the mere presence of Wahhaj and Lekovich, as well as the involvement of Brotherhood legacy groups, as I mentioned, confirm the radical underpinnings of the MSA West conference.

9/11 warrior Myrick leaves legacy of courage

sue_myrick2-340x161Congresswoman retires after boldly sounding alarm about Islamist infiltration

WASHINGTON – Just hours before a group of U.S. lawmakers were scheduled to hold a press conference to blow the whistle on a secret plan by the radical Council on American-Islamic Relations to infiltrate sensitive committees dealing with homeland security on Capitol Hill, lawyers for CAIR contacted the group’s leader and tried to intimidate her into canceling the news conference.

CAIR’s threatening tactics, which had worked on countless other officials, did not work this time, however.

The leader of the group, Rep. Sue Myrick, R-N.C., co-founder of the bipartisan House Anti-Terrorism/Jihad Caucus and a member of the House Permanent Select Committee On Intelligence, went ahead with the event, showing again an intrepid spirit that has marked the retiring congresswoman’s 18-year career in Washington.

At the 2009 press conference, Myrick revealed an internal CAIR memo written in 2007 that called for infiltrating the “judiciary, intelligence and homeland security committees” by, among other things, “placing Muslim interns” in those offices.

The memo was obtained by the authors of “Muslim Mafia: Inside the Secret World That’s Conspiring to Islamize America,” which also uncovered new evidence that CAIR directly funded Hamas and al-Qaida terrorist fronts.

Fight back against CAIR’s attack on First Amendment by making a contribution to WND’s “Legal Defense Fund.” Donations of $25 or more entitle you to free copy of “Muslim Mafia” – the book so devastating to CAIR the group is trying to ban it.

At the time, the Washington-based group was under federal investigation for terrorist activities. In court testimony, the FBI identified CAIR as a front group for Hamas, and the Justice Department named it an unindicted co-conspirator in the largest terrorist finance case in U.S. history.

“Groups like CAIR, ISNA (the Islamic Society of North America) and others have a proven record of senior officials being indicted and either imprisoned or deported from the United States,” Myrick said. “There was a lot of evidence presented at the Holy Land Foundation trial which exposed CAIR, ISNA and others as front groups for the Muslim Brotherhood here in the United States.”

Hamas is the Palestinian branch of the Egyptian-based Muslim Brotherhood.

The revelation was alarming. Myrick exposed that Congress does not have a formal vetting process for screening radical Muslims invited to work or pray or speak at the Capitol. As a result, CAIR was able to not only place a number of employees within the Capitol, but also known terrorists and terrorist suspects.

One of them, al-Qaida terrorist Anwar Awlaki, was invited to speak and pray at the Capitol by CAIR Executive Director Nihad Awad, who also helped get Awlaki into the Pentagon – outrageously, within months of Awlaki assisting the 9/11 hijackers in their plot to fly a jumbo jet into the Pentagon, as Catherine Herridge later revealed in her book “The Next Wave.”

“There is not a formal vetting process,” Myrick said. “Back in the 1990s, Siraj Wahhaj became the first Muslim chaplain to give the opening prayer to Congress. Siraj Wahhaj was also an unindicted co-conspirator in the first World Trade Center bombing in 1993.”

Wahhaj also happens to be a CAIR board member and one of its largest fundraisers.

Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner at CAIR Tampa

by Joe Kaufman:

Those who attend CAIR’s fundraising banquet in Tampa tomorrow should understand that they are bringing money to an organization that employs radicals – a group that raises many “red flags” if not black flags.

Tomorrow, November 10, the Tampa chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) will be sponsoring its Mid-Florida Region’s 8th Annual Banquet at a hotel on the campus of the University of South Florida (USF) — a fundraising event featuring a number of questionable individuals, from its speakers to its attendees to its organizers.

One of the advertised speakers at the banquet is Siraj Wahhaj, named an “unindicted co-conspirator” for a federal trial dealing with the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center. Other named co-conspirators for the trial were, among others, Osama bin Laden and bin Laden’s mentor, Abdullah Azzam.

Wahhaj has been linked to the bomb maker of the attack, Clement Rodney Hampton-El, and during the trial, was a character witness for the spiritual leader of the bombing, “the Blind Sheikh” Omar Abdel Rahman, whom Wahhaj has openly praised.

According to the Facebook page for CAIR-Tampa’s banquet, also attending the event will be Yahia Megahed. In October 2007, Megahed was accused by U.S. prosecutors of signing and using coded language to communicate with his brother, Youssef, who at the time was in prison and charged with illegally transporting explosive materials.

Yahia’s own Facebook page contains a photo of himself brandishing a rifle, while prosecutors argued against his brother’s release due to what was called his brother’s “growing interest in firearms.”

Hassan Shibly, the Executive Director of CAIR-Tampa since June 2011, had, before that, been the subject of a number of controversies.

In December 2004, while heading back from a radical Muslim conference in Toronto, Shibly was detained by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents, “singled out,” as one publication put it, “as a possible terrorist.” According to court documents, the CBP “received intelligence that gave them reason to believe that persons with known terrorist ties would be attending certain Islamic conferences to be held during the year-end holiday season of 2004, including the Reviving the Islamic Spirit Conference at the Skydome in Toronto, Canada.”

CAIR Banquet Features Al Sharpton, Siraj Wahhaj

Radical Islam:

Reverend Al Sharpton will offer the keynote address at CAIR’s annual banquet being held this year on September 29 in Arlington, Virginia. Another famous personage that will be featured at CAIR’s banquet is Imam Siraj Wahhaj.

Sharpton is a contentious, controversial figure known for his incitement of the anti-Jewish riots in Crown Heights, New York, in 199. He is also known for his anti-Semitic incitement against a Jewish business in Harlem as well as his conviction of libel for his role in the racially charged Tawana Brawley rape hoax.

Wahhaj was named an unindicted co-conspirator in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. He has been quoted as saying that he hopes all Americans eventually become Muslim. He refers to the FBI and CIA the “real terrorists.” Wahhaj defended the “Blind Sheikh,” Omar Abdel-Rahman, who was the former leader of the Egyptian terrorist organization Gama’a al-Islamiyya, by testifying on his behalf at his trial. Abdel-Rahman is currently serving a life-sentence in a U.S. prison for his involvement in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. Wahhaj also advocates the replacement of the U.S. government with an Islamic Caliphate. He has also served as an advisory board member of CAIR.

Ironically, the theme of CAIR’s banquet is “Upholding Our Constitution, Defending Our Faith.” The evening also features Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-OH). Kucinich, a long-time promoter of CAIR. Kicinish was defeated in the latest primary and will be leaving the U.S. House of Representatives in January , 2013.

Democrats Embrace Siraj Wahhaj: Supporter of Cop-Killer, Al Qaeda and Hamas, Part II

Siraj Wahhaj

In just a few days, the Democratic National Convention “Kick off events”week will include its first ever “Jumah (gathering) at the DNC” – three Islam-centered events beginning with a Friday prayer and sermon, an evening Islamic banquet and an all day Islamic festival.

Many of the individuals scheduled to speak during the DNC week have extremely spurious backgrounds, including support for Al Qaeda and the U.S. State Department designated terrorist organization, HAMAS.   Brooklyn-based Imam Siraj Wahhaj will headline the Muslim portion of the convention.

This is part two of an in-depth study of a man who will have the ear of thousands planning to attend the DNC Convention, thanks to Debbie Wasserman Schultz’ DNC. [To see Part I, click here]

Wahhaj Supports Islamic Extremism in Sudan

Hassan Al-Turabi was the leader of the National Islamic Front (NIF) political party in Sudan In the 1980’s. [i]   It was then that shari’ah law was implemented nationwide to Muslim and non-Muslim people alike.  The criminal code was changed to include such barbaric punishments as cross amputation (cutting off the left hand and right foot), stoning, flogging, and death sentences for apostasy and blasphemy.  The prominent Islam reformer, Mahmoud Mohammed Taha (“Taha”) was executed in 1981 for apostasy. [ii]  Siraj Wahhaj supports Al-Turabi’s draconian shari’ah as it was enforced.  In one sermon at his mosque, Wahhaj proclaimed “I would cut off the hands of my own daughter (if she stole) because Allah stands for Justice.” [iii]

Sudan became a safe-haven for terrorists i.e. Osama Bin Laden and HAMAS, under Al- Turabi, And in 1993, after the World Trade Center bombing, Sudan was named by the U.S. State Department as a state sponsor of terror. [iv]

Siraj Wahhaj made these statements at the time Sudan was listed as a state sponsor of terror:

May Allah bless Sudan…these are people who want to establish the Shari’ah, establish Quran, and Sunnah, they want to establish the religion and therefore hated by the government of the U.S.A…I’m not going to make you comfortable because our book, the book we believe in, is not Dale Carnegie’s, How to Win Friends and Influence People; But it’s the Quran.

Wahhaj Joins ISNA in Support for HAMAS and the National Islamic Front (NIF)

The Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) calls itself the largest Islamic organization in the U.S..  The leaders of two terror groups Sami Al-Arian – Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ), and Mousa Abu Marzook- HAMAS  “helped establish” ISNA in 1981.[v]

Wahhaj became a member of the ISNA Advisory Council in 1987.  10 years later, HAMAS leader, Mousa Abu Marzook who had been deported from Jordan for his terror related activities[vi], wrote a thank you to many organizations in The Washington Report Middle East Affairs (WRMEA) for their support of him..  One of the organizations he thanked was ISNA.  It was at that time, Wahhaj was ISNA Vice President, having been named to that position the same year, in 1997. [vii]

In the Spring 2001 edition of the ISNA publication, Islamic Horizons, the Sudanese leader Hassan Al Turabi, of the NIF, stated: “I do not think that it is only a dream, but there is a possibility not only for America to be Islamized, but also in fact to develop as the role model of Islam.” [viii] This ISNA article was published while Sudan was listed as a state sponsor of terror.

When asked, Siraj Wahhaj refuses to condemn HAMAS.  [ix]

Siraj Wahhaj and CAIR

Not only were Marzook and Al-Arian co-founders of ISNA, they were also co-founders of an Islamist organization, which evolved into the Council for American- Islamic Relations (CAIR).  Marzook and Al-Arian co-founded the precursor to the Council for American Islamic Relations, a U.S. front group for HAMAS.[x]

Article Eight of the 1988 HAMAS Charter proclaims:

“Allah is its goal; the Prophet is its model, the Quran its constitution: Jihad is its path and death for the sake of Allah is the loftiest of its wishes.”

Omar Ahmed, who co-founded the Council for American Islamic Relations (CAIR), was caught just a few years after CAIR’s incorporation publicly stating similar goals:

Islam isn’t in America to be equal to any other faith, but to become dominant. The Quran . . . should be the highest authority in America, and Islam the only accepted religion on earth. [xi]

Siraj Wahhaj has been on CAIR’s Advisory Board, [xii] and for over the last decade has been the designated fundraiser at many CAIR fundraiser banquets.  Wahhaj has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for CAIR. [xiii]  At a recent CAIR San Francisco fundraiser, where Siraj Wahhaj was listed as fundraiser, CAIR’s guest speakers included the attorney for Sami Al-Arian, Linda Moreno.[xiv]
