A group of 11 terrorists with links to Al Qaeda were yesterday being interrogated on whether they are behind the disappearance of Malaysia Airlines flight MH370.
The suspects were arrested in the capital Kuala Lumpur and in the state of Kedah last week and are members of a violent new terror group said to be planning bomb attacks in Muslim countries.
The interrogations come after international investigators, including the FBI and MI6, asked for the militants, whose ages range from 22 to 55 and include students, odd-job workers, a young widow and business professionals, to be questioned intensively about Flight MH370.
Nearly two months after the Beijing-bound plane vanished soon after take-off from Kuala Lumpur, no trace has been found despite a huge sea search costing hundreds of millions of pounds. It is thought to have crashed into the Indian Ocean with 239 people on board.
An officer with the Counter Terrorism Division of Malaysian Special Branch said yesterday the arrests had heightened suspicion that the flight’s disappearance may have been an act of terrorism.
‘The possibility that the plane was diverted by militants is still high on the list and international investigators have asked for a comprehensive report on this new terror group,’ the officer said.
In interviews conducted so far, some suspects have admitted planning ‘sustained terror campaigns’ in Malaysia but denied being involved in the disappearance of the airliner, he added.
Osama Bin Laden’s son-in-law, Saajid Badat, a British-born Muslim from Gloucester, said he had been instructed at a terrorist training camp in Afghanistan to give a shoe bomb to the Malaysians.
He said: ‘I gave one of my shoes to the Malaysians. I think it was to access the cockpit.’
Badat, who spoke via video link and is in hiding in the UK, told the New York court the Malaysian plot was being masterminded by Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the principal architect of 9/11.
A mystery surrounding the cargo being carried by the missing Malaysian Airlines plane emerged on Friday when it was discovered that it had been loaded with items not specified on the manifest.
The aircraft was carrying 4.566 tonnes of mangosteens – an exotic fruit – and a shipment of lithium batteries, which were part of a separate consignment.
The batteries weighed 200kg, but that separate consignment totalled 2.453 tonnes. So what was being carried to make up the 2.253 tonnes in that separate shipment?
Questions have been raised as Malaysia Airlines said it will close assistance centres in Beijing and Kuala Lumpur for the families of the 239 passengers and crew on board the Boeing 777-200ER jet.

Could anything prevent an American plane suffering the same mysterious fate as Malaysian Airlines flight MH370?
Exactly what happened to flight MH370 is still unknown. Investigators and terror experts now believe the pilot, Zaharie Ahmad Shah, was solely responsible for the downing of the flight, and did so deliberately as a suicide mission.
A friend of Captain Zaharie said, according to the New Zealand Herald, that Zaharie was “in no state of mind to be flying a Boeing 777,” as he “had personal issues; having recently separated from his wife – whom he had children with. It is thought his relationship with another woman was also on the rocks.” The friend said that Zaharie’s “world was crumbling and felt the captain had taken MH370 on a ‘last joyride.’”
While it is remotely possible that this was all there was to it, Captain Zaharie is by no means the first or only pilot to take the helm while his world is crumbling or he is distraught over a failing marriage; yet few have taken their planes on a “last joyride.”
What is more likely, albeit not conclusive, is that Captain Zaharie, who apparently reprogrammed the flight himself in order to take it hundreds of miles off course, was on a jihad mission related to his “fanatical” support for Malaysian opposition politician Anwar Ibrahim, who has recently been jailed on sex charges that his supporters say are trumped-up. The spiritual guide of the Muslim Brotherhood, Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi, who has praised Hitler and prayed that Allah would exterminate all the Jews, has endorsed Ibrahim for Prime Minister of Malaysia.
Anwar Ibrahim is a founder of the International Institute of Islamic Thought (IIIT), which was named in a captured internal Muslim Brotherhood document as one of the Brotherhood’s “organizations of our friends” dedicated to “eliminating and destroying Western civilization from within and sabotaging its miserable house.” He has also served as a trustee for the World Assembly of Muslim Youth (WAMY), another Brotherhood organization.
None of this proves that Captain Zaharie was on a jihad-martyrdom suicide mission, but the possibility cannot be ruled out – as even Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel acknowledged Wednesday. And in light of recent warnings from the Department of Homeland Security about renewed jihad terror plots against airplanes, it is useful to ask if there are any safeguards in place to prevent such a plane takeover from happening in the U.S.
Imagine a pilot for a U.S. air carrier who was a “fanatical” follower of a political leader with extensive connections to a group dedicated to “eliminating and destroying Western civilization from within.” There could actually be such pilots flying commercial planes in the U.S. today, since there is absolutely nothing in place that would prevent it. As I detail in my new book Arab Winter Comes to America: The Truth About the War We’re In, counter-terror measures have been overwhelmed by a politically correct delicacy that places the fear of offending Muslims over the fear of mass murder, such that government, law enforcement and private businesses are today woefully unequipped – often by their own choice – to deal adequately with the threat of Islamic jihad.
As I detail in the book, the Obama Administration, under pressure from Islamic groups, many of which were tied to Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood, in 2010 and 2011 mandated the removal from all counter-terror training materials of all mention of Islam and jihad in connection with terrorism.
In a sane society, a pilot who had allegiances such as those of Zaharie Ahmad Shah would be carefully scrutinized, and would not have had the freedom Zaharie apparently had to reprogram the direction of his flight, as well as to commandeer it under the nose of a stunned world. But as Arab Winter Comes to America shows, the premium is on political correctness, even above protecting airline passengers from suicidal ideologues. Consequently, not only has Malaysian Airlines flight MH370 apparently gone down, but there are almost certain to be many more tragedies like it in our future.

I believe the airplane was hijacked by the air crew..the pilot and the co-pilot.
I believe they just didn’t do it to fly 7 hours down into the southern Indian Ocean and crash it. It’s against their religion unless they are Shahids or martyrs. We haven’t heard anything like that. But the fact is that out of the 45 thousand terrorist events since 1998, only 14% have been claimed. So I believe another shoe will fall.
I believe Pakistan or elements in Pakistan, the ISI, Taliban, al-Qaeda, are involved in a second shoe. I don’t know what that second shoe to fall will be but I believe we’ll see that airplane involved in a terrorist incident in the near future.
In all the actions leading up to it, clearly, the plane was hijacked by the air crew.
Everybody has heard ad nauseum the different moves, etc. But the question then is, why would they do that?
I don’t have the why except I know that they were radicalized..and the degree I don’t fully understand yet but I know its there and we’re against a very formidable adversary that will have a huge impact on civil aviation in the world if they’re successful in pulling this off.
First of all, most of them [Americans] know where Osama Bin Laden was killed…in Abbottabad, right in the heart of their military academy.Number two, most Americans don’t fully understand that the Taliban was created by Pakistan – their intelligence service- the ISI. Most Americans do not fully understand that as the ISI is supporting the Taliban in Afghanistan and we probably ought to be fighting them rather than fighting in Afghanistan. They control the Taliban…if they say cut it off it’s all over.
I think our government knows a lot of what’s going on and for certain reasons they may want to have a diversion down in the south Indian Ocean while, for instance, why isn’t the Global Hawk sown there which could stay up 32 hours and continuously surveill that with it’s synthetic aperture radar. But they’re keeping them up in the Middle East. Probably to watch certain air fields Pakistan which they can fly over Afghanistan and look into those airfields.
I think there are other things that the US government is doing that I do not want to talk about here because there may be operations ongoing. But the fact is we have our best censors in the world, Governor, in the Middle East in Afghanistan right now.

Langley Intelligence Group Intel Group released a second report Friday on the missing plane.
As the search for Malaysian Airlines Flight 370 drags on without a trace of wreckage at sea, the likelihood of foul play looms larger. One country keeps rising to the top of the list of suspects: Pakistan.
Ten days after the flight vanished, LIGNET learned that engineers at Boeing, the plane’s manufacturer, believed the missing aircraft was on the ground in Pakistan. For several reasons, including al-Qaeda’s presence there, historical attack patterns, corruption, weakness and terrorist sympathies at the highest levels inside Pakistan, that hunch may be right.
Lt. Gen. McInerney discussed why the plane flew to Pakistan.
“LIGNET put out a report, substantiated yesterday, that there sources got their information from Boeing sources, which is covert. Not that they got their information from the Boeing Company because they’re involved in the investigation, that the airplane was in Pakistan. That was confirmed by LIGNET on Monday and I got another source at LIGNET that confirmed it yesterday… I do believe that those people in Pakistan, in the ISI, those people who knew where Osama Bin Laden was and didn’t tell us. I believe those same elements could be involved with getting that airplane into a Pakistan air force base.”

He’s a chameleon.
Adnan el-Shukrijumah possesses an uncanny ability to blend into a crowd, to alter his looks, and to assume a multitude of identities. Few things about him indicate his Islamic orientation. He is often clean-shaven and rarely wears a long shirt (shalwat kameez) or chews a toothpick. He has been known to have a beer (like an average American Joe), to smoke a Marlboro, and to carry rosary beads in his pocket. He has posed as an Italian-American, a Mexican-American, a Canadian, a Saudi, a Jamaican, an Arab, and a Latino from Trinidad. He stands somewhere between 5’4″ and 5’6″; weighs 140 pounds; and suffers from sacute asthma. He has black hair, dark brown eyes, an olive complexion, a mole on one cheek and a very prominent Mediterranean proboscis. A key distinguishing feature is a scar on the left side of his face below and forward of his earlobe.
Adnan is fluent in English, Spanish, Urdu, and Arabic. He is a trained pilot and a computer whiz. But, his central area of interest, training and expertise is nuclear engineering.
…After days of interrogation, coupled with severe sleep deprivation, Mohammed told U.S. officials that bin Laden was planning to create a “nuclear hell storm” in America.[iv] Unlike other attacks, the terrorist chief said, the chain of command for the nuclear attack answered directly to bin Laden, al-Zawahiri, and a mysterious scientist called “Dr. X.” Mohammed later admitted that “Dr. X” was Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan, the Pakistani father of the Islamic bomb and the godfather of modern nuclear proliferation. He further confessed that the field commander for this operation was a naturalized American citizen whom he also referred to as Mohammed Sher Mohammed Khan and “Jafer al Tayyar” (“Jafer the Pilot”).[v] Both names are aliases of Adnan el Shukrijumah.
Khalid Mohammed went on to say that Adnan represents a “single-cell” – – a lone agent capable of launching a solo nuclear or radiological attack on a major American city.
Lt. Gen. Thomas McInerney was on “Hannity” tonight to explain how missing Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 could have landed in Pakistan to be used for terrorism.
McInerney said that according to unverified reports, the plane could have been flying in the shadow of Singapore Airlines Flight 68 over India. He said a LIGNET report says that Boeing sources believe the plane is in Pakistan.
McInerney said that most of the world’s sensors are in that region, and that between Rolls-Royce, Boeing and the U.S. government, officials know a lot more than has come out.
“When the U.S. Navy quits their search, their ship search, they must know something in the Indian Ocean. When the Israeli defense forces, when they increase their defense alert, they must know something,” McInerney said.
If McInerney’s theory is right, the airplane would have landed at 5 a.m. Pakistan time, and it would have still been dark out.
