Paul Sperry: Khzir Khan Is a ‘World-Renowned Expert on Sharia, Not the Constitution’

Breitbart, by John Hayward, Aug. 3, 2016:

New York Post columnist and former Hoover Institution media fellow Paul Sperry appeared on Wednesday’s Breitbart News Daily with SiriusXM host Stephen K. Bannon to discuss his column for Breitbart News, “Khizr Khan Believes the Constitution ‘Must Always Be Subordinated to the Sharia.’”

“It turns out that we were conned by Khan,” Perry quipped. “His past Islamic writings reveal his support for sharia, and extreme sharia enforcers, which totally contradicts his support for the Constitution he waved in all our faces at the Democratic convention.”

“Specifically, in a book review I unearthed from the ’80s, Khan praises a Pakistani mullah — of course, Khan is an immigrant from Pakistan — he praises this Pakistani mullah who advocates for the enforcement of barbaric sharia punishments, like floggings, amputations, and beheadings, for those who violate Islamic laws,” Sperry said.

“In another paper he wrote, ‘Defining Sharia Law,’ Khan gratefully cites the notorious Muslim Brotherhood radicals who called for installing Islamic regimes in the West through ‘civilization jihad,’ which is what you’re talking about in terms of the infiltration of this fifth column that the Muslim Brotherhood has built up with their infrastructure in the United States, this terrorist support network too,” Sperry continued.

“If I can just say, it was an absolute mistake, the more we learn about Khan, to assume that the father was just as patriotic as his war-hero son,” he argued. “And Republicans were stupid to create a no-fire zone around him. I mean, this guy is not the champion of the Constitution and Western principles we were told he was. It turns out he’s not an expert on the Constitution, he’s an expert on sharia law, which makes an absolute mockery of the Constitution.”

Bannon noted that some Republicans, even previously dedicated Trump supporters like New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, insist that Khan should be given unlimited deference as a Gold Star father.

“I don’t honor anybody higher than Gold Star mothers and fathers, people that have lost their sons and daughters in combat, in defense of their country,” Bannon said. “I haven’t heard any question at all that the son was an absolute hero, in fact walked toward the danger, in protection of his men, and gave his life for his country and his men. His son’s an absolute hero.”

‘However, Chris Christie’s just dead wrong,” Bannon continued. “It doesn’t give you a free shot on goal to say anything.

Sperry agreed, and also supported Bannon’s characterization of Khizr Khan as “one of the biggest proponents in this country of sharia law.”

“He’s got dozens of citations in Islamic law journals, and syllabi, teaching sharia law. He is a world-renowned expert on sharia, not the Constitution,” Sperry said. “He’s a devout Muslim, this is what he believes in. I think you’re right – you have to separate both the son and the mother from the scrutiny, but the father deserves a lot of scrutiny. He’s clearly got an agenda. He’s an angry political activist up there, in a non-stop parade on the cable networks, haranguing and wagging his finger at Trump and all of us, lecturing us.”

“Speaking of the mother, I think it was Monday night, on Don Lemon of CNN, he hectored Trump for having, quote, ‘no respect of women.’ And then last night, on Anderson Cooper, Khan said, wagging that finger at Trump, quote, ‘You have disrespected women.’ Yet, this is the same guy who admires, from his writings — and this goes back to the ’80s – he admires a Pakistani mullah who says it’s the right of men to beat their wives,” Sperry said.

He also mentioned the sharia standards for women to prove charges of sexual assault against men, noting that “she’ll get charged, because she’s not good enough, as a witness” unless she has multiple male witnesses to back up her claims.

“That’s doctrinal,” Sperry noted. “That’s not something anybody is making up. That’s doctrinal. But this is what this Khan evidently believes as well. I mean, he’s praising the guy who blatantly said, you know, this is a right for men to have.”

Bannon pointed out that during his Anderson Cooper interview, Khan claimed, “I do not stand for any sharia law, because there is no such thing.”

Sperry said that was a “howling lie.”

“I mean, you go through all his writings, he clearly goes into great detail about what sharia is, and is a strong proponent of it,” he pointed out.

“Did he lie on national TV?” Bannon asked.

“It appears that way,” Sperry replied. “The bloom is really coming off the rose here on this guy.”

He further questioned the veracity of some of the claims in Khzir Khan’s bio: “In his background, there’s some serious questions, so I’m digging into that. There’s probably going to be a lot more coming out on this guy, as he continues wagging his finger.”

DNC Speech: Hillary Clinton Deletes Foreign Policy Disasters as Secretary of State

Breitbart, by Aaron Klein, July 29, 2016:

PHILADELPHIA – Notoriously missing from Hillary Clinton’s acceptance speech here at the Democratic National Convention was a list of any significant accomplishments from her time as Secretary of State.

The words “secretary of state” only appeared twice in her speech.

One of those times she stated, “I have to tell you, as your Secretary of State, I went to 112 countries, and when people hear those words – they hear America.”

Here, she seems to be brandishing her foreign travel as a signature achievement while she was one of the nation’s highest serving diplomats.

The second and final direct mention of her former State position came when she exclaimed, “As you know, I’m not one of those people. I’ve been your First Lady. Served 8 years as a Senator from the great State of New York. Then I represented all of you as Secretary of State.”

When she did briefly mention her record, Clinton mostly spoke in generalities and she seemed to be combining her time as  a Senator and Secretary of State.

She stated:

Look at my record.  I’ve worked across the aisle to pass laws and treaties and to launch new programs that help millions of people.  And if you give me the chance, that’s what I’ll do as President.

I’m proud that we put a lid on Iran’s nuclear program without firing a single shot – now we have to enforce it, and keep supporting Israel’s security.

I’m proud that we shaped a global climate agreement – now we have to hold every country accountable to their commitments, including ourselves.

I’m proud to stand by our allies in NATO against any threat they face, including from Russia.

While she didn’t outline her role in the talks with Iran that led to the nuclear agreement with Tehran, Clinton did tangentially mention the Iran deal. “I’m proud that we put a lid on Iran’s nuclear program without firing a single shot – now we have to enforce it, and keep supporting Israel’s security.”

Absent from her DNC speech was Clinton’s central role in the U.S.-NATO intervention in Libya in 2011, a military campaign that directly resulted in the destabilization of that country and its subsequent descent into chaos. Islamic extremists have since taken over large swaths of Libya, and have used the country as a staging ground to attempt to infiltrate Europe.

Islamic terrorists infamously carried out deadly attacks on the U.S. Special Mission in Benghazi on September 11, 2012. Clinton did not bring up her State Department’s role in denying security requests to the woefully unsecure U.S. facility.

Clinton further failed to mention her strong support for the so-called Arab Spring, including the toppling of the regime of Hosni Mubarak, a staunch U.S. ally, and the Muslim Brotherhood’s resultant rise to power there until a military coup in 2013.

Clinton referenced the threat of the Islamic State without explaining that the global jihadist group has taken up sanctuary in countries that were destabilized during her tenure as Secretary of State.

She stated:

I’ve laid out my strategy for defeating ISIS. We will strike their sanctuaries from the air, and support local forces taking them out on the ground. We will surge our intelligence so that we detect and prevent attacks before they happen. We will disrupt their efforts online to reach and radicalize young people in our country. It won’t be easy or quick, but make no mistake – we will prevail.

Frank Gaffney: Democratic Party Is ‘Aligned with Our Enemies, and Not with America’

Kevin Dietsch-Pool/Getty/Reuters

Kevin Dietsch-Pool/Getty/Reuters

Breitbart, by John Hayward, July 27, 2016:

Center for Security Policy founder Frank Gaffney told SiriusXM host Stephen K. Bannon of Breitbart News Daily that curing the “plague” of Islamist terrorism will first require a proper diagnosis.

Gaffney said it was important to understand that “Yes, these are individuals that want to attack Western civilization, but they also are all about Islamic supremacism over other faiths, as well as other civilizations.”

He was speaking, of course, in the context of the savage murder of a Catholic priest, in his Normandy church, by Islamic State jihadis.

He described the Islamic State as “just one manifestation of this global jihad movement,” stressing that “you could destroy every single operative, in Europe, in the Middle East more generally, and you still have not taken down this Islamic supremacist, jihadist enterprise.”

“You can set it back – and you have to do that, don’t get me wrong – it’s just that you also have to be going after the underlying ideology,” he explained. “And let’s call it what they call it: sharia. And that ideology is at the core of every jihadist enterprise in the world, violent and non-violent, as well.”

Bannon asked if Western nations should shut down mosques and Islamic centers that preach the supremacy of sharia law and deport their clerics.

“Let me suggest three things. One, we’ve got to stop importing more of these jihadists,” Gaffney responded. “I mean, before we get to the ones we’ve got here, don’t bring more in. Whatever the number is, we’ve got plenty. We’ve got too many, in fact.”

“Secondly, we need to designate the Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist organization,” he stated, adding:

That’s what it is. Once you’ve designated it as such, then those mosques, then those front groups, then those influence operations that it is running here, as well as in Europe, to enable the other kind of jihad – not this stealthy civilization kind, the violent kind – you stop that.

Third, Gaffney said, “We need to set our sights on nothing less than victory over jihad,” expressing hope that Donald Trump would issue such a call during his presidential campaign.

“Setting our sights on that is the critical step to making sure that the rest of this gets done,” he urged.

Bannon noted that two days into the Democratic National Convention, there has been no mention of ISIS, radical Islam, or the Muslim Brotherhood. “Are we at war, or are we not at war?” he asked.

“Of course, we are at war with Islamic supremacism because they are at war with us,” Gaffney replied. “Whether the President, whether the former Secretary of State, whether their party chooses to ignore it, Steve, or not, that war is ongoing, and will kill more of us.”

“The bigger question, which I think more and more of us are tumbling to, watching this spectacle, is not just the ignoring of that reality; it is the aligning with our enemies,” he said, continuing:

You talked earlier about Tim Kaine having done a lot of that with the Muslim Brotherhood, but he’s not alone. There are whole bunches of the progressive movement. Look at the Palestinian flags. Look at people burning Israel’s flag and burning the American flag. These people are on the wrong side.

“I’m sorry for Democrats – I used to be one myself – who are now being completely disenfranchised by a party that is aligned with our enemies, and not with America,” Gaffney declared. “They will doom all of us, if they had their way.”

Democrats Embrace Siraj Wahhaj: Supporter of Cop-Killer, Al Qaeda and Hamas

By Laura L. Rubenfeld:

In just a few days, the Democratic National Convention “kick off events” week will include its first ever “Jumah (Arabic for gathering) at the DNC” – three Islamic-centered events beginning with a Friday afternoon prayer and sermon, an evening Islamic banquet and an all-day Islamic festival.

Many of the individuals scheduled to speak during the DNC week have extremely spurious backgrounds, including, astonishingly, support for Al Qaeda and for the U.S. State Department-designated terrorist organization, Hamas.

The celebrity Imam or “Grand Imam” slated for the event is Imam Siraj Wahhaj (pictured on the top far-left of the picture above).

As this article will demonstrate, Wahhaj has a thirty-year, well-documented history of supporting  terror and preaching religious and racial intolerance against Americans.  For decades, Wahhaj has preached violence and insurrection against the U.S. with the goal of replacing the Constitution with shari’ah law, as the law of the land.

Here is Wahhaj in his own words:

“Islam is better than democracy- Allah will cause his deen [Islam as a complete way of life], Islam to prevail over every kind of system, and you know what?  It will happen.” [i]

The following is a two-part profile on the man who will headline “Jumah at the Democratic National Convention.”

Read these mind-blowing statements from Wahhaj, and ask yourself, “How could the Democrats associate their party with such a man?”

“As long as you remember that if you get involved in politics, you have to be very careful that your leader is for Allah.  You don’t get involved in politics because it’s the American thing to do.  You get involved in politics because politics are a weapon to use in the cause of Islam.” [ii]

“If only Muslims were clever politically, they could take over the United States and replace its constitutional government with a caliphate.  If we were united and strong, we would elect our own emir and give allegiance to him.  Take my word, if eight million Muslims unite in America, the country will come to us.” [iii]

THE RADICALISM OF IMAM SIRAJ WAHHAJ

Wahhaj’s Mentors Preached Anti-Semitism and Supported Nazi Germany

Siraj Wahhaj was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. He became a card-carrying member of the Nation of Islam in the late ’60s.  For almost a decade, Wahhaj’s role models and those who mentored him, were a veritable who’s who in militant Black Nationalist thought, including Nation of Islam founder Elijah Muhammed, Louis Farrakhan[iv] and Malcolm X.

Elijah Muhammed hated white people, calling them “the human beast—the Serpent, the Dragon, the Devil and Satan.” [v]  During World War II Elijah Muhammed supported Hitler and Nazi Germany.  [vi]

The infamous Louis Farrakhan made violent pronouncements against Jews and whites.  Farrakhan described Catholics and Jews as those who practiced a “gutter religion,” [vii] He harangued Jewish people as “wicked Jews,” [viii] said “Hitler was a very great man,” [ix]  and called white people “white devils,” who he said were “potential humans … [who] haven’t evolved yet.” [x] In the late ’90s, years later, Siraj Wahhaj was a frequent congregant at Farrakhan’s temple. With Farrakhan’s support, he became a minister and led his own temple in the Nation of Islam. [xi] In one sermon, Wahhaj himself said, “White people are devils.” [xii]

While Malcolm X was hailed as a great leader by the mainstream media during the civil rights movement, he was a convicted felon, and like Elijah Muhammad and Louis Farrakhan, he addressed white people as the “Klu Klux Klan,” and “White Nazis,” and Jews as “Nazis” and “dogs.” [xiii]

All of these people would be considered racists today. The so-called “Grand Imam” of the “Jumah at the DNC,” Imam Wahhaj still reveres Malcolm X to this day, and during his present-day lectures, he encourages Muslim youth to follow in the path of Malcolm X.  Wahhaj says Malcolm X can still “reach out of his grave and influence Muslim youth today.” Wahhaj also frequently lectures on the history of Malcolm X, and many of these lectures can be found on YouTube or Islamist websites.  Wahhaj speaks of Malcolm X as a “hero.”[xiv]

The DNC-hosted “Jumah at the DNC” includes the daughter of Malcolm X, Ilyasah Shabazz as a guest speaker. Has the Democrat leadership now embraced hatred of whites and Jews as part of their platform?

Wahhaj Misrepresents the Facts of His Muslim Cleric Training

Wahhaj claims on his bio[xv] that he completed Muslim cleric training from Umm al Qura University in Mecca, Saudi Arabia in 1978.  However, Umm al Qura University was not established until 1981. [xvi]   Prior to 1981, Umm al Qura was called, The Colleges of Shari’ah and Education. It was the primary institution in Saudi Arabia to prepare new Islamic clergyman.  From 1971-1981, The Colleges of Shari’ah and Education was a branch in Mecca for the Jeddah-based King Abdul Aziz University. [xvii]

Why would Wahhaj conceal that he was, in fact, educated at such an institution? King Abdul Aziz University is a hub for young radical terrorists. Osama bin Laden, Sheikh Abdullah Azzam and Wael Jalaidan,[xviii] all co-founders of Al Qaeda, were affiliated with the university:

  • Osama bin Laden graduated from King Abdul Aziz University in 1979. [xix]
  • Abdullah Azzam, Osama bin Laden’s professor and mentor taught at King Abdul Aziz University until 1981.
  • Wael Jalaidan was a King Abdul Aziz University representative in the U.S. during the 1970s.   He left King Abdul University in the mid-1980s.  Jalaidan prepared the way for two Al Qaeda terror hubs in the U.S.:  one in Arizona, and the other in Brooklyn, New York, inside the Al Farouq Mosque. This mosque was later implicated in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.  The director of the Al Farouq mosque was Osama bin Laden’s professor and mentor, Sheikh Abdullah Azzam.

Brooklyn, New York is Wahhaj’s hometown. It is the city in which Wahhaj founded the At-Taqwa mosque in 1981, located just 1.5 miles away from the terror cell known as Al Farouq mosque.

It appears likely that Wahhaj is intentionally deceptive about the name of the university at which he studied, in an effort to hide his association with these individuals.

Siraj Wahhaj Defends Al Qaeda Leader, the Blind Sheikh

Sheikh Omar Abdel-Rahman (aka the Blind Sheikh), a leader of a terrorism organization in his native Egypt, was charged with the attempted assassination of American ally, and leader of Egypt, Anwar-al Sadat.   Abdul-Rahman took over leadership from Sheikh Abdullah Azzam at Al Farouq in Brooklyn, New York. In one of Rahman’s Friday sermons, he said, “We must terrorize the enemies of Islam and … shake the earth under their feet.”[xx]

Siraj Wahhaj actually invited Abdel-Rahman to be a guest speaker for his congregation at At-Taqwa.

Rahman’s group successfully bombed the World Trade Center in 1993, murdering 6 people and injuring over 1000.  The attack blew a hole five stories deep and half the size of a football field in a lower level of the World Trade Center.[xxi]

Astonishingly, Imam Wahhaj was a character witness for the blind Al Qaeda sheikh at the World Trade Center bombing trial. During his testimony, Wahhaj praised the sheikh a “respected scholar,” and “bold, as a strong, preacher of Islam.”[xxii]

Wahhaj Leads an Islamic Movement of Jihad and Martyrdom

In 1988, at the Al Farouq mosque, Al Qaeda co-founder Sheikh Abdullah Azzam announced, “The Jihad, the fighting, is obligatory on you wherever you can perform it.”  Four years after Azzam said this, Wahhaj expressed a similar view just blocks away at his own mosque when he said, Muslims are “commanded to do jihad…Bis a billah Allah [jihad for the sake of Allah] is when Allah commands us to fight….Islam is the only answer because it is only Islam that we do it for Allah.”

In another sermon, Wahhaj proclaimed, “I will never ever tell people don’t be violent that is not the Islamic way.  The violence has to be selected.” He then pointed to Islamic theology to justify violence.  “Islam is the only answer because it is only Islam that we do it for Allah.” We are “commanded to do jihad.”  “[W]hen Allah commands us to fight we are not stopping, no one will stop us.”

Wahhaj Supports Shari’ah Law in All Its Ruthlessness

The Democrats will be hosting a man whobelieves the Islamic way of life is the preferable alternative to the “garbage can ” [xxiii]  which is what he has called America.  Wahhaj himself encourages his audience to work towards an America completely dominated by Islam:

“Wherever you came from, you came to America.  And you came for one reason- for one reason only- to establish Allah’s deen [Islam as a complete way of life], as a servant of Allah.”

It is no surprise that the Muslim conference will discuss anti-shari’ah bills, since Wahhaj has long advocated for shari’ah (Islamic law) to replace our American democracy. Wahhaj not only supports organizations and litigation against anti-shari’ah bills, he campaigns for shari’ah to overthrow the U.S. Constitution as the law of the land:

“Islam is better than democracy.  Allah will cause his deen [Islam as a complete way of life], Islam to prevail over every kind of system, and you know what?  It will happen.” [xxiv]

Wahhaj supports the most ruthless practices of shari’ah law regarding capital punishment, including cutting off hands for the crime of theft and stoning for adultery, and he frequently refers to Islamic scripture for his justification:

“If Allah says 100 strikes, 100 strikes it is. If Allah says cut off their hand, you cut off their hand. If Allah says stone them to death, through the Prophet Muhammad, then you stone them to death, because it’s the obedience of Allah and his messenger—nothing personal.” [xxv]

This is the man the DNC is voluntarily, of its own choice, associating with, and to whom it is giving new national prominence. The DNC must be made to state their reasons for this appalling action.

WAHHAJ DEFENDS AL QAEDA

Congregants of Wahhaj’s Mosque Charged with Providing Support for Al Qaeda

An astonishing series of congregants at Wahhaj’s at-Taqwa mosque were charged and convicted of providing material support for Al Qaeda during that same 1993 World Trade Center bombing.  Wahhaj testified at the trial on behalf of the defendants, his congregants.  One such man who regularly worshipped at Wahhaj’s Masjid at-Taqwa was a member of the Black Nationalist extremist organization[xxvi], Jamaat al Fuqra,[xxvii] which is dedicated to “purifying Islam through violence.”[xxviii]  His name was Hampton-El and he organized a U.S.-based terrorist training camp.

Radical Islam Joins the DNC

by Breeanne Howe

Starting at the end of this month the Democratic National Convention will open with a focus on Islam.  20,000 Muslims are expected to attend according to the Bureau of Indigenous Muslim Affairs (BIMA), the national Muslim American non-profit coordinating the two days of events they claim are non-political.  ”Jumah at the DNC” begins August 29 and will start with a Friday afternoon jummah prayer followed by other unnamed programs and events, leading up to the Islamic Regal Banquet. The following day will be an all day Islamic Cultural and Fun Fest which will include discussions on the topics of Islamaphobia, Anti-Shariah, Middle Eastern Crisis, Patriot Act, National Defense Authorization Act and more.  The purpose, according to BIMA, is to attract national and international attention to the plight of American Muslims and to hold political parties accountable for issues that affect them.  However, not all Muslims feel that BIMA represents them and M. Zuhdi Jasser M.D., Founder and President of the American Islamic Forum for Democracy, has expressed serious concerns.

It is troubling that the Democratic National Convention has decided to promote and lend its name and national political platform to the organizers of the “Jummah at the DNC”. The leaders of this event – Jibril Hough and Imam Siraj Wahhaj as advertised are no moderates. They are radicals. These individuals embrace Islamist supremacy and have demonstrated support for radical ideologies.

A quick Google search by the DNC would have shown them that Hough and Wahhaj are leaders in the separatist American Islamist movement. While they may be able to get a few thousand Muslims to attend the event, they are NOT going to be mainstream Muslims.  Most will likely come from Hough and Wahhaj’s radical networks that have long been entrenched in the Charlotte area. Make no mistake they are part of the Islamist movement.

This is not about their right of assembly; this group under a different name pulled the same stunt at the US capitol in 2009 claiming 20k and getting 2-3k. THIS IS ABOUT the DNC calling this an “official function” listing these radicals as typical of the DNC community and more importantly about this organization speaking out AS representing supposedly typical American Muslims (or “Mainstream”).

If that is who the DNC is consorting with then all Americans, Democrats should be concerned. There are many patriotic Muslims who are part of both parties, and when radical ideologues like this do a demonstration of “solidarity” in the name of our faith and choose an imam like Siraj Wahhaj who I saw with my own eyes in 1995 seditiously say it his duty and our duty as Muslims to replace the US Constitution with the Quran– then we need to speak up!

Their jummah (group) prayer is supposedly against the Patriot Act, the NYPD, and Islamophobia and is actually NOT about our democracy but about empowering their Islamist and MB (Muslim Brotherhood) sympathetic groups into the very fabric of the political system so that Americans become anesthetized. We need American Muslims to speak up and marginalize these radicals. The DNC needs to understand and reject them because of their radical history and ideas.

They use our American Muslim identity to speak as “one community” as a political unit or as a “bloc vote” – a political Islamist party when in fact most us Muslims don’t want that political unity and seek reform against their ideology that seeks to hijack our community. They do not represent us. (emphasis mine)

In fact, Zuhdi Jasser is correct, Jibril Hough and Imam Siraj Wahhaj have said and done radical things in their past.  Which means either the Democrats failed to utilize due diligence or they simply didn’t care.  In addition to the Muslims being misrepresented, Democrats and Charlotteans also have a right to know how the DNC has failed them before they even arrive in Charlotte.

CAIR Official Elected Delegate to Democrat Convention

by Ryan Mauro:

The Executive-Director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR)  Greater Area of Los Angeles Area chapter, Hussam Ayloush, has been elected as a  delegate to the Democratic National Convention. CAIR was labeled as an  “unindicted co-conspirator” by the federal government in the trial of the Holy Land  Foundation, a charity shut down for financing Hamas. On July 1, 2009,  District Judge Jorge Solis upheld  the label, ruling that the government provided “ample” evidence tying CAIR to  Hamas.

On April 29, Ayloush announced on his Twitter page that he was elected as a  DNC delegate for California’s Congressional District 42. The California  Democratic Party’s website has the results  of the delegate caucuses, confirming Ayloush’s victory.

CAIR’s roots are in the Muslim Brotherhood, specifically its Palestine  Committee that was secretly set up in the U.S. to support Hamas. In 1993, the  FBI wiretapped a Palestine Committee meeting in Philadelphia that included two  future founders of CAIR, Nihad  Awad and Omar  Ahmad. Also present was Shukri Abu Baker, the leader of the aforementioned  Hamas front called the Holy Land Foundation. At that time, Awad and Ahmed led  the Islamic  Association for Palestine, another Muslim Brotherhood front (according to  the Brotherhood’s own  documents) with extensive ties to Hamas.

The participants in the 1993 meeting discussed how to “support jihad in  Palestine” when “this will be classified as terrorism according to America.”  They discussed  the use of deception and word games and the need to create  a new organization with less baggage. Ahmed and Awad founded CAIR the next year.  That same year, Awad stated  that he supports Hamas. In 2004, he refused  to condemn Hamas and Hezbollah as terrorist groups in an interview with an  Arab publication. The Justice Department reportedly  blocked a planned prosecution of Ahmad in recent years.

It shouldn’t be surprising then that one of the Brotherhood’s documents from  2004 lists  CAIR and the Islamic Association for Palestine, from  which CAIR’s leadership came, among its “working organizations.” A 2007 court  filing is even clearer: “From its founding by Muslim Brotherhood leaders,  CAIR conspired with other affiliates of the Muslim Brotherhood to support  terrorists.the conspirators agreed to use deception to conceal from the American  public their connections to terrorists.”

Ayloush has been the Executive Director of CAIR’s Greater Area of Los Angeles  chapter since 1997. In December 2001, CAIR-CA’s website published a photo  of him with Sheikh Yousef al-Qaradawi, a senior Muslim Brotherhood cleric that  styles himself as the “Mufti of martyrdom operations” and preaches in favor of  Hamas, suicide bombings and the destruction of Israel. Ayloush views him as an  authoritative source. During a discussion about zakat in October 2002, he referenced  the view of “many scholars,” but only mentioned one: Qaradawi. To date, there is  no repudiation of Qaradawi on the CAIR-CA website or on Ayloush’s personal  blog.

In 2010, Ayloush said,  “I cannot think of one Muslim scholar that I know of, that I have ever heard of,  who has actually condoned terrorism.” Qaradawi’s consistent support for violent  jihad is well-known to even his most passive observers. Ayloush either is  stunningly ignorant of the “scholar” he references or agrees with Qaradawi’s  opinion of what qualifies as terrorism.

In January 2004, he spoke  of the “legitimate right of the Palestinians to defend themselves against the  Israeli occupation” and in 2006, he described  the kidnapping of three Israeli soldiers by Hamas and Hzbollah as a “military  operation.” The Israeli response, on the other hand, he said was “very  reminiscent to the Nazi style of collective punishment.in response to a  resistance.”

Ayloush consistently depicts the actions taken by the U.S. government against  Hamas/Muslim Brotherhood entities as acts of oppression. He ridiculed  the government for freezing the assets of the Holy Land Foundation in 2001,  saying, “As we see one charitable organization after the other having its assets  frozen and its offices closed, you know, the shift from fighting terrorism is  slowly happening towards a fight against symbols of Islam or Islamic activism in  the U.S.”

He even said the closing of these so-called “charities” is an act of  genocide. On June 21, 2006, he spoke at a conference sponsored by various  Brotherhood-tied groups like CAIR, the Muslim  American Society, the Muslim  Students Association and the Muslim  Public Affairs Council. He said,  “And any attempt to close down a legitimate relief organization is an attempt to  starve the Palestinian people.Any attempt to close down relief for the  Palestinians is an attempt at genocide.”
