The Ocasio occasion, Minnesota style

Powerline Blog, by Scott Johnson, July 6, 2018:

I attended the special DFL endorsing convention convened in Minneapolis on June 17 to anoint a successor to Keith Ellison. Three candidates sought the DFL endorsement, addressed the convention and responded to questions raised by the delegates. Ilhan Omar won a majority of the delegates’ votes on the first ballot. She then easily cleared the 60 percent hurdle to secure the endorsement on the second ballot with 68 percent of the votes. I reported from the convention here. MPR’s Tim Nelson had a brief report here. I tried to call national attention to what it all meant in the Weekly Standard article “The anti-Israel seat.”

To borrow Bill Buckley’s formulation, Omar was the leftward most viable candidate seeking the endorsement. She presented the full Bernie Bro catastrophe as her platform. Free college. Free health care. Everything is to be “free.” Everything is free but freedom, which is in short supply. We are to work and they are to eat. We are to toil and they are to enjoy the fruits of it. Despite the patina of outré novelty that thrills Democrats, this is old, old stuff.

Omar called several times for the abolition of ICE. It was the first time I had heard this call, although it has quickly become a staple of Democratic orthodoxy since. Throw in her patent hostility to Israel and we can see that Omar is the precursor to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the frank socialist who prevailed over Joe Crowley in New York’s June 29 Democratic primary. Stephen Miller now observes that “With Ocasio-Cortez’s rise, Dems now own their loony far-left flank.” She has become an overnight sensation.

Ocasio-Cortez has nothing on Omar. Omar has yet to win the August 14 primary, which includes more conventional DFL candidates (Margaret Kelliher and Paticia Torres-Ray) with legitimate track records. The Star Tribune fondly presents the field in Maya Rao’s gauzy-eyed report. What is interesting to me, however, is the weakness of respectable liberal Democrats (including Kelliher and Torres-Ray) in the Fifth District. They are not where it’s at. Omar is where it’s at.

Omar has a personal background that has yet to receive anything like the look it deserves. Like Ocasio-Cortez, she has become a media darling. Yet she is a most unsavory character. If the Star Tribune were to interview the DFL candidates and make an endorsement in advance of the August 14 primary, it could make a constructive contribution to understanding what is happening here. So far, the blinders remain intact. The next Congress figures to feature an Omar-Ocasio-Cortez caucus.

Brotherhood-Linked Congressman Running to be AG of Minnesota

Keith Ellison would rather wage war on Trump in court than in Congress.

Front Page Magazine, by Mathew Vadum, June 8, 2018:

Brotherhood-linked Congressman Keith Ellison is giving up his ultra-safe seat in the U.S. House of Representatives to run for the post of attorney general of Minnesota, a risky move in a state that isn’t as radically left-wing as his home district.

The primary election is Aug. 14.

Ellison, the Democratic National Committee (DNC) deputy chairman who essentially endorsed the violent anarchists and communists of the subversive Antifa movement, claims he wants to be the North Star State’s top lawyer to litigate away in a quest for justice.

“It was attorneys general who led the fight against [President Trump’s so-called] Muslim ban,” Ellison said after filing his paperwork on the final day allowed. “I want to be a part of that fight.”

“As Attorney General, I will push for equal rights under the law, for commonsense gun safety laws, and for criminal justice reform that ends unjust policies and creates a pathway for Minnesotans to reenter as contributing members of society.”

“No one — not even a President — is above the law,” he wrote in a statement. Minnesotans “need a fighter on their side,” he added, calling himself the “People’s Lawyer.”

But the term “People’s Lawyer” has a special meaning for left-wing radicals.

The Left likes to refer to some of its legal heroes like Sixties icon William Kunstler as “People’s Lawyers.” It’s not what you might think.

A “People’s Lawyer” – the phrase is always capitalized – is a crusading, small-c communist attorney who devotes his life to using the legal system to fundamentally transform America. As such it is a profoundly antisocial, un-American concept, so, naturally, it is embraced by the communist-dominated National Lawyers Guild (NLG).

Or so he says.

Ellison may also believe the much-hyped “blue wave” the media keeps telling us will give Democrats control of Congress isn’t coming this November. Maybe he doesn’t relish the prospect of continuing to be a powerless backbencher with little influence on the House’s legislative agenda.

Ellison, 54, jumped into the AG race after the incumbent, Lori Swanson (D), decided she’d prefer to seek the governorship.

Why should anyone care if Ellison, the first Muslim elected to the U.S. Congress, becomes Minnesota’s attorney general?

Ellison is an admirer of convicted cop killer and leftist folk hero Mumia Abu Jamal. He is also a former co-chairman of the Communist-linked Congressional Progressive Caucus.

Ellison, an in-your-face Muslim sympathetic to jihad, implicitly expressed support months ago for the use of violence against President Trump in a tweet as he posed for a selfie with the cover of Antifa: The Anti-Fascist Handbook, by Mark Bray.

“At @MoonPalaceBooks and I just found the book that strike [sic] fear in the heart of @realDonaldTrump[,]” the DNC official tweeted.

Ellison’s anti-Americanism and radicalism are nothing new, but they took on added importance after he became second-in-command at the DNC. Democrats are the party that officially endorsed the violent, America-hating Black Lives Matter movement whose radical left-wing members accuse police nationwide of systemic anti-black racism and brutality against black suspects.

In 2015 hundreds of DNC delegates in Minneapolis approved a resolution that accused American police of “extrajudicial killings of unarmed African American men, women and children.” In other words, since 2015 it has been official Democratic Party policy that there are roving death squads manned by police officers who specifically stalk and execute without trial black men, women, and children across America.

Activists and media types look to him. Ellison was a longtime fringe-dweller before he became a Democrat office-holder. He was a member of Louis Farrakhan’s Nation of Islam. He described Hitler-loving Farrakhan as “a role model for black youth,” “not an anti-Semite,” and “a sincere, tireless, and uncompromising advocate of the black community and other oppressed people around the world.”

Ellison has links to Hamas. He is also a regular at events sponsored by the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), two Muslim Brotherhood front groups the Department of Justice has identified as co-conspirators in terrorism financing schemes benefiting Hamas. It is also worth noting that in 2008, Ellison accepted $13,350 from the Muslim American Society (MAS), another Muslim Brotherhood Front group, to go on a pilgrimage to Mecca.

When Ellison won his first congressional election on Nov. 7, 2006, at his victory party several of his supporters shouted “Allahu Akbar!” which is the traditional battle cry of jihadists.

Are the voters of Minnesota crazy enough to elect Ellison as the state’s chief law enforcement official?

Well, yes, they certainly are.

See Gov. Jesse Ventura (1999 – 2003), U.S. Sen. Al Franken (2009 to 2018), and of course, U.S. Rep. Keith Ellison (2007 to present).

Chances are the air with be filled again with cries “Allahu Akbar!” after the ballots are counted in Minnesota’s attorney general election.

Is There a Double Standard Favoring Jihadis?

Understanding the Threat, by Stephanie Ameiss, April 19, 2018:

On Saturday April 14th, less than two years after 49 people were killed by muslim Omar Mir Seddique Mateen, the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA) and the Aisha Cultural Center hosted a “Positive Parenting Skills” conference at the Greenwood Lakes Middle School in Orlando, featuring Islamic scholar Dr. M. Rateb Al-Nabulsi.

Al-Nabulsi is a Syrian Sheikh who calls for the killing of gays and Jews.

ICNA (Islamic Circle of North America) was identified by evidence in the largest terrorism financing trial ever successfully prosecuted in American history – US v Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development, Northern District of Texas, 2008 – as being a part of the U.S. Muslim Brotherhood’s Islamic Movement with the stated objective of waging “Civilization Jihad” to overthrow the U.S. government and establishing an Islamic State under sharia (Islamic law).

Why did the local government approve this event and why did local police/sheriff’s offices provide security for this event?

When a local camera crew opposed to the event showed up, the police were quick to threaten arrest for trespassing.  Why?

Local elected officials and police swear an oath to protect and defend the Constitution against seditious threats like this.

Will Greenwood Lakes Middle School in Orlando invite Understanding the Threat (UTT) to teach a session on American’s Founding Principles?   How about classes on the Muslim Brotherhood network in Florida, sharia, and the threat these pose to local Florida communities?

UTT is still waiting for a response to our call.

Khaled Bahgat, a muslim from Egypt, is the liaison officer between the Columbus (OH) Police Department and the city’s muslims, particularly Somali refugees.  Does the Columbus Police Department have a designated Catholic officer to outreach to the Christian community?

Middletown (PA) Patrol Officer Mark Hovan was suspended  for 10 days for attending Catholic Mass at the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church during his patrol shift.  Yet, would the Middletown Police Chief have an issue if muslim officers when to prayers at a mosque?

The photo above shows two Los Angeles police officers praying at the Muslim Brotherhood’s Islamic Center of Southern California.

Has the LAPD suspended them and launched an investigation as to why their officers are associating themselves with a jihadi mosque?

Is it unprofessional for police departments to have different standards for Christian officers and muslim officers?

Is it legal for police departments to have different standards for Christian officers and muslim officers?

Muslim Brother/Hamas leader Ahmed Bedier speaks inside the Florida State House at Muslim Capitol Day hosted by Hamas (CAIR)

Texas Hamas leader Mustafa Carroll (far right) at the Texas Capitol Day hosted by Hamas (CAIR)

Muslim Capitol Day occurs all over the United States every year, and local/state police protect the participants despite the fact the events are hosted by Hamas doing business as CAIR and advance the jihadi agenda of Civilization Jihad.

What should police officers do when they are given an unlawful order to support a designated terrorist organization and it’s events?

Being the leader of Hamas in Arizona (dba CAIR) did not prevent Mohamed El-Sharkawy from being employed with American Airlines and training employees at Phoenix’s Sky Harbor Airport.  As a matter of fact American Airlines gave El-Sharkawy an award and defended him when UTT questioned them about employing a Hamas leader.

Nor did his terrorist affiliation prevent El-Sharkawy from founding and serving on the Arizona Police Muslim Advisory Board.  In fact, El-Sharkawy currently serves as a board member on Hamas’ (CAIR-Arizona) Board of Advisors.

Do police departments in Tempe, Arizona and elsewhere have Christian Advisory Boards?

Citizens where are you?  Why are you putting up with these double standards?

1. Evidence in the US v HLF trial reveals CAIR is Hamas.

2. Two weeks ago the seditious and terrorist-supporting Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) gave its marching orders to the terrorists from Antifa to threaten venues which resulted in those venues canceling programs involving Understanding the Threat (UTT).

3. When UTT conducts it’s 3-day “Understanding and Investigating the Jihadi Network” program for police, the unanimous response from attendees , including FBI counter-terrorism agents, is shock because they admit they were not aware of the information presented.  Yet, they also state the information UTT presents is “critical” to protecting their communities.

Local police sometimes act in inappropriate and unlawful/unconstitutional ways in these matters because they do not understand this threat nor are they trained on how to respond.

The FBI has not informed them.

No police chief wants to deal with a riot or threats of violence.  The easy route is often to support the shutting down of events instead of dealing with the consequences of the event.  However, police chiefs, sheriffs and the men and women in those departments swear an Oath to protect and defend against “all enemies, foreign and domestic.”

This is where we fight this war – by standing firm, even when it is very difficult.  But this means citizens must encourage and stand with the police when these tough decisions come down the line.

Citizens – don’t stand around and watch!

Question your local officials why they allow local facilities and state houses to be used to advance the jihad by designated terrorists (Hamas/CAIR) and known subversive groups, and tolerate a double standard when it comes to the muslim community, even among police.

Citizens get involved – Tell your local police leaders you want those sworn to protect you to be trained about this threat and support them when they have to deal with the heat from sedition/Marxist organizations and their jihadi task-masters like Hamas doing business as CAIR.

U.S. city installs Shariah hotline for ‘hate speech’ snitches

Minneapolis Mayor Betsy Hodges shown here at a meeting with Somali Muslims wearing a hijab in April 2014.

WND, by Leo Hohmann, June 21, 2017:

The city of Minneapolis has set up a hotline for residents to report suspected hate crimes, including “speech and actions,” according to statements on the city’s website.

The city, which will operate the “service” through its 3-1-1 helpline, is targeting any “harassing behaviors motivated by prejudice,” according to a press release. Those wishing to report a hate crime from outside the city may dial 612-673-3000.

According to the local newspaper, the Star-Tribune, “the announcement comes amid signs of a recent surge of such incidents affecting Muslims and Jews across the country, many of which go unreported.”

The city’s Department of Civil Rights clearly states on its website that it only enforces hate crimes against certain “protected classes.”

A city official further indicated the impetus for the hate-crimes hotline was the election of President Trump and that the targets would be his supporters.

“Since the general election, many of us have experienced, witnessed firsthand or heard of actions of: racism, xenophobia, sexism and bigotry directed at people here and in cities across the United States,” Minneapolis Department of Civil Rights Director Velma Korbel wrote in a statement posted on the city’s website. “In no uncertain terms, hate-motivated speech and actions have no place in Minneapolis nor will they be tolerated.”

Korbel said the city’s tough stance on “hate” is reflected in the views of its mayor, Betsy Hodges. Korbel states on the city website:

This department echoes Minneapolis mayor, Betsy Hodges’ resolve and commitment when she stated: “I will not compromise the public safety of the people of Minneapolis to satisfy Trump’s desire to put politics before public safety. Minneapolis is being built and strengthened by people from all over the world and I am grateful for their commitment to our city. I stand with them today and will continue to take that stand as the President-elect prepares to take office.”

Michele Bachmann, former congresswoman from Minnesota, decried the new hotline as a form of fascism in which citizens are encouraged to turn in their neighbors for holding opinions deemed forbidden by the state.

She said such prior restraints are not allowed under the U.S. Constitution and would not hold up in court.

“Hate speech hotlines operate as government enforcement of fascism,” she said in an email to WND. “They are a denial of free speech and the very definition of government censorship.

“Looking for government informants to rat out speech the government forbids goes to the heart of denying American citizens our inalienable rights. Governments CAN NOT do this under our constitution.”

Bachmann said the hate-crime hotline is a stealth move by Hodges and the city council to impose Islamic anti-blasphemy laws on non-Muslims.

“By installing Islamic anti-blasphemy hotlines and advertising for informants, Minneapolis is violating the doctrine of separation of church and state,” she added. “What difference is there between the Minneapolis City Council action and United Nations resolution 16/18 advanced by former Secretary Hillary Clinton?”

U.N Resolution 16/18 encouraged nations to criminalize speech that defames a person’s religious views.

Pushed by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the only speech the resolution sought to criminalized was speech critical of Islam, Bachmann said. After years of failure, the resolution only passed after the language was somewhat watered down.

“Which is interesting, since the OIC continually proclaims death to the Jews, death to Israel,” she said. “The citizens of Minneapolis surely can’t be that easily bamboozled into giving away their First Amendment rights to free of speech.”

The press release announcing the new hotline gives a broad definition of “discrimination,” citing any “action or a decision that treats a person or a group negatively for reasons such as their race, religion, disability, sexual orientation, ethnicity, gender or gender identity.”

The release also places local police on notice, stating:

If you, your family or someone you know experiences discrimination based on race, religion, national origin, sex, LGBT status or other protected classes, or has been the victim of police misconduct, please call 612-673-3012 or visit http://www.minneapolismn.gov/civilrights.

Shahram Hadian, whose family fled Iran in the run-up to the Islamic revolution in 1978, said he was aghast at the Minneapolis hotline.

“This is ultimately what they got passed up in Canada. But this is the backdoor approach to eventually setting up hate speech laws … hate crimes morph into hate speech,” said Hadian, a former law enforcement officer turned pastor who heads Truth In Love Ministries.

“It’s crazy to think my family left Iran because of the impending Islamic State to come to this nation because of its freedom – and what other freedom is more precious than your freedom of speech? – and now to see this backdoor attempt to try to impose hate speech laws.”

Hadian said there would be no logical need for a special hate hotline because the federal government already has hate-crime laws on the books.

“This is trying to normalize the concept of trying to turn people in, and if that doesn’t send shivers down your spine when you think of 1930s Germany, nothing will,” Hadian said.

The Minneapolis City Council last fall passed a resolution condemning violence and hate speech against Muslims.

Hadian said he has no doubt that the Minneapolis officials will seek to target Christians with the new snitch line.

“Obviously it’s moving toward Shariah compliance. This is what Europe has done,” he said. “You have people arrested there, various examples of it, and charged with crimes for something they said about Islam. So this is a back-door attempt to get hate speech laws on the books and to create the environment of normalcy where you’re going to see Christians turned in to the government because we are either speaking about Christianity or because we’re speaking factually about Islam.

“It’s a violation of our fundamental rights under the First Amendment. That’s chilling, and it’s so disturbing and underhanded what they’re doing, to say, ‘Let’s start turning people in whom we don’t agree with.’”

Hadian said the hotline will have a chilling effect on pastors and lecturers in Minnesota.

“So what, the next time I give a presentation, if someone gets offended, are they going to report me?” he said. “That’s where we’re headed with this.”

Outside of Minneapolis-St. Paul and Duluth, every county in Minnesota voted for Trump in the November general election.

The people of Minnesota are growing tired of the coercive rule of intolerant Democrats like Hodges and Gov. Mark Dayton, said Debra Anderson, who chairs the state’s ACT! For America chapter.

“Communities throughout Minnesota are suffering greatly from the never-ending demands of Muslims and their civilization jihad, and there is growing alarm about the increasing threats of and acts of violence perpetrated by Muslims against non-Muslims (jihad terrorism),” Anderson wrote in an email.

“This resolution and the hate-speech hotline serves to not only invalidate the legitimate concerns of indigenous Minnesotans, but also to silence them,” she said. “I find myself thinking, ‘While our government leaders’ fundamentally transform our communities (destroy America),’ they command, ‘Don’t you dare utter a peep … or else!’

“Unfortunately, this is only one of many examples of how our ‘captured’ government is striving to fundamentally transform the Land of 10,000 Lakes into Marxist/Islamist utopia that does not tolerate dissidents or infidels.”

Bob Enos, another Minnesotan, who recently ran for city council in Willmar, said he believes the hotline is patently unconstitutional if it bans or seeks to chill any type of speech.

“Free speech has never been a crime under the U.S. Constitution, hateful or otherwise,” he said.

A search of the Star-Tribune’s stories printed since Jan. 1, 2017, lists only one alleged hate crime against Muslims.

“This new hotline is nothing but a red herring, designed to ingratiate Minneapolis Mayor Betsy Hodges to the growing Somali voting bloc. Hence, her photos donning the Muslim hijab,” Enos said.

Enos said it was significant that Islamic preachers are exempt from the hate crimes prosecuted by Minneapolis, because they are regarded as a “protected class.”

“After all, the Quran contains at least 109 verses which promote graphic violence against all non-believers; most especially Jews,” he said. “So, is not any cleric who promotes the teachings of the Quran also promoting hate speech?

“This enforcement of standards of speech that Minneapolis’ Democratic leadership finds acceptable is Minneapolis’ version of an intellectual Taliban.”

Experiment with terrorist rehab fails 1st U.S. test

ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi declared the existence of an Islamic caliphate in Iraq and Syria and all ISIS fighters are required to swear an oath to support him as their caliph. Is it possible to ‘rehab’ an ISIS terrorist? The federal government thinks so and is trying to test the concept out on a Somali man who tried to leave Minnesota to join ISIS.

WND, by Leo Hohmann, May 7, 2017:

After six Somali refugees were convicted of plotting to board planes and join ISIS in Syria, a U.S. federal judge in Minnesota decided to enroll one of them in an experimental terrorist rehabilitation program.

The program was developed in Europe and operates on the principles of the “countering violent extremism” or CVE, which is also part of the global, United Nations-supported Strong Cities Network.

Rather than going to prison, Abdullahi Mohamed Yusuf, 21, was sentenced in November to a 20-year supervised release. He was granted time served and sent to live in a halfway house. He receives counseling, reports to a probation officer and wears an ankle monitor but is otherwise free to come and go.

Abdullahi Mohamed Yusuf same to U.S. as a child refugee from Somalia but tried to leave and fight for ISIS.

But less than six months from the time he was released, Yusuf has already hit a road block.

He was returned to federal custody last week for allegedly failing a polygraph test and watching a documentary about ISIS in Europe.

According to a report by a U.S. probation officer, Yusuf failed a polygraph while under questioning, then admitted to watching CNN’s “ISIS: Behind the Mask,” a film about a Belgian ISIS soldier that was on TV April 18 at his halfway house, the Star-Tribune reported.

The terms of his 20-year supervised release include a provision that Yusuf not “possess, view, access, or otherwise use material that reflects extremist or terroristic views or as deemed to be inappropriate by the U.S. Probation Office.”

It’s all part of a “unique approach to supervising federal terrorism cases,” the Star-Tribune reports. This approach was approved by federal Judge Michael Davis and the U.S. District Court’s Probation and Pretrial Services department, which chose the Minnesota case to introduce the country’s first terrorism “disengagement and deradicalization” program.

In essence, they would try to “deradicalize” the young jihadist.

The program is based on evaluations and training from German researcher Daniel Koehler, who concluded that Yusuf had “a medium to low risk of future offending and a comparatively advanced stage of disengagement,” according to court filings.

Almost everyone in Minnesota law enforcement is not on board with the controversial program, sources tell WND. And groups that try to educate police on the religious underpinnings of jihad are typically closed out of the discussion.

Even citizens find it hard to get the ear of their local sheriff or police chief, says Debra Anderson, the ACT for America chapter leader for Minnesota.

“It’s CVE at the highest level down to the local level and even though the grassroots activists are trying to train our law enforcement it’s almost impossible to even get these guys to have a meeting with you,” Anderson told WND. “I get doors shut in my face every day.”

Philip Haney, who spent more than a dozen years screening for jihadists at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security before retiring in 2015, told WND that Minnesota is not the first to experiment with the idea that terrorists can be rehabilitated.

He says it’s been tried many times, in many places, including the Guantanamo Bay detainment camp.

The concept, that religiously motivated terrorists can be reformed, finds its roots in the “countering violent extremism” movement – an approach that began in Europe and was brought to the U.S. by the Obama administration.

“Rehabilitation is part of CVE. In fact, the idea that terrorists can be rehabilitated is woven into the overall CVE concept,” said Haney, co-author of the book “See Something Say Nothing: A Homeland Security Officer Exposes the Government’s Submission to Jihad.”

“But the bottom line is these programs have been demonstrable failures,” he said. “They started with Saudi Arabia rehabbing Gitmo prisoners, and it’s actually achieved the opposite results.”

According to data released in March, the intelligence community has confirmed a total of 121 former Gitmo detainees have re-entered the battlefield. Another 87 former detainees are suspected of rejoining the ranks of their brother terrorists. The total of 208 confirmed and suspected terrorists makes up 30 percent of all those released from Gitmo.

Sweden and Denmark have also engaged in a concerted effort to rehab their jihadists.

“They’re trying it out in Denmark now, but there’s no real quantifiable way of demonstrating the program is effective because they universally overlook the real source of what they call ‘radicalization,’ and no program will ever work if you overlook the source of what is causing this violent behavior,” Haney said.

Such attempts completely ignore the original source of inspiration for Islamic violence – the Islamic texts, which include the Quran and hadiths – the reported words and deeds of the prophet Muhammad, Haney said.

Rehab in Denmark

Morten Storm, a former Danish al-Qaida member, told Newsweek he dismisses the experiment on its face.

“It’s completely ridiculous,” he says. “It means disregarding the life and dignity of the people the jihadists have been terrorizing – simply because the jihadists happen to be Danish. And deradicalizing the jihadists doesn’t work, because they’re religiously motivated. Yes, some may enroll [in the program], but then they’ll go back to the front lines.”

Danish leaders, like Obama’s former U.S. State Department spokeswoman Marie Harp, are striving to pin the causes of terrorism on something other than Islam. Harp famously said it was a lack of jobs in the Middle East that led young men to become terrorists.

But what about here in the U.S. or Europe, where jobs are plentiful and education is often free?

“One school of thought is that the jihadists feel excluded, versus the reality that assimilation into a non-Muslim society is counter to the teachings of Islam, so we’re blaming the host nation for not being inclusive enough and enabling the [Muslim] migrants to be a part of our country when in reality they don’t want to assimilate and be a part of it,” Haney said.

United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres recently blamed “Islamophobia” for “fueling the rise in global terrorism.”

Strong Cities Network

On Sept. 29, 2015, former Attorney General Loretta Lynch announced the launch of the Strong Cities Network at United Nations headquarters in New York.

“At that point, CVE went global, it morphed into this Strong Cities Network, part of a much bigger agenda to enable, or refuse to acknowledge, the threat that we face from Islamic terrorism,” Haney said. “The White House all but admitted it didn’t work and yet they tripled the budget for CVE as part of this attempt to provide alternative narratives that transform how we think about terrorism. The focus of law enforcement went from ‘Islamic terrorism’ to ‘violent extremism in all its forms.’”

The U.S. State Department even launched a Twitter campaign in February 2016 to try to deny the Islamic role in terrorism. It was a bust. The year 2016 was the most Islamically violent year in decades with terrorist attacks launched across Europe and the U.S., from Orlando to Paris, Normandy, Nice, Bavaria and Berlin.

And Minneapolis, with its large Somali refugee community admittedly struggling with ISIS and al-Shabab “recruitment problems,” was one of three cities the Obama administration chose in 2014 for CVE pilot programs, along with Boston and Los Angeles.

Minneapolis and L.A. would go the extra step and join the global Strong Cities Network, or SCN.

Minneapolis was one of four initial U.S. cities to sign up for SCN, along with New York, Denver and Atlanta.

Jordanian Prince Zeid Raad Zeid al-Hussein, the U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights, came to New York to help roll out the SCN in September 2015 at the U.N., standing beside Loretta Lynch and New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio.

Since then, six more U.S. cities have joined the global policing network – Aurora, Colorado; Chattanooga, Tennessee; Los Angeles; San Diego; Montgomery County, Maryland; and Louisville, Kentucky.

See list of Strong Cities Network member cities worldwide.

So the CVE and Strong Cities Network are inexorably linked, both tracing their U.S. points of origin into the heart of the Obama administration and its effort to take the heat off of Islam and place it onto “right wing” terrorists.

Draining the swamp?

All of this was done without consulting Congress, or with any apparent consideration of states’ rights, or the Constitution itself, says Haney.

Part of the U.N.’s focus is to cultivate global governance through cities, bypassing nation-states. This was made evident in the New Urban Agenda adopted by the Obama administration and more than 100 other world leaders at the Habitat III Conference last year in Ecuador.

As for the Trump administration, it has shown little awareness of the power of these programs, nor has it signaled any sense of urgency in reversing them, Haney said.

“I don’t think they really are aware of how much is really being done [through the U.N.], I think Trump is on a steep learning curve, and he’s touching some of these issues and I give him credit for it,” he said. “The question is whether he has the political courage to go forward, because if he’s going to drain the swamp these are the kinds of programs that need to be drained. They put our sovereignty subject to an outside international body.”

Ignoring history

Most of the government attempts at deprogramming jihadists focus on poverty or some other “subjective” cause that deflects attention from the central issue, Haney said. They also ignore the broad sweep of history.

“Islam is not a subjective ideology, but they’re using subjective terms to try to define a religion that is objectively very well defined … poverty, colonialism, lack of inclusiveness, it has all existed well before modern times,” Haney said. “The ideology existed before the times we live in. We saw it in their crossing the Straights of Gibraltar in 711 A.D. [into Spain]. And we saw it in 732 A.D. exactly 100 years after Muhammad died, when they were invading France, only to be driven out by Charles Martel.”

Another incursion was made in 1683 at the Gates of Vienna, only to be repelled by the Polish King John Sobieski.

The West has been in a 1,300-year, on-and-off war with Islam. It seems the war is back on, but few in the West are aware.

Anderson said the Obama policy of playing nice with terrorists has had a severe impact on her state, which is home to so many Somali Muslims.

“They have fundamentally transformed counter-terrorism from a law-enforcement-based approach, which treated them as criminals with all the rights of normal defendants and that in itself was the subject of great debate, but Obama took it a step further and transformed the U.S. system from a law-based approach to a civil-rights and civil-liberties approach. So they’ve basically paralyzed our law-enforcement system,” Anderson said.

Gov. Dayton tells detractors: ‘find another state’

Meanwhile, Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton, speaking openly at a community forum in St. Cloud in October 2015, told residents that anyone who cannot accept living alongside Somali immigrants “should find another state.” Less than a year later, in September 2016, a Somali refugee went on a stabbing spree at the Crossroads Mall in St. Cloud, injuring 10 people.

“We have a governor who doesn’t listen to us and our mayor in Minneapolis, Betsy Hodges, signed us up for Strong Cities Network, so we have it bad here,” Anderson said. “We’re just a sinking state.”

“On the one hand the grassroots is getting it, we’ve circumvented the hostile media, and we’ve traveled around and what I’m learning is the surrounding states are recognizing Minnesota is ground-zero for jihadi training,” Anderson said.

Waleed Idrus al-Maneesey is a radical imam who heads up the Al-Farooq mosque in Bloomington, Minnesota, attended by at least six known terrorists and terrorist supporters.

Dar al-Farooq in Bloomington is one mosque that draws suspicion. It operates under the guidance of imam Walid Idrus al-Maneesey, who is also a member of the Assembly of Muslim Jurists of America, the organization responsible for issuing fatwas in North America.

The mosque supports the Islamic University of Minnesota, which turned out its first graduating class recently with intense training in Shariah law, the Quran and Islamic jurisprudence. At least six Somali terrorism suspects have been known to attend al-Maneesey’s mosque.

And now the Minneapolis police are tolerating an Islamic Shariah cop who patrols the Cedar Riverside neighborhoods looking for violations of Islamic dress and food laws, as well as social interaction deemed inappropriate between the sexes. He has recruited 10 others to work under him and police have not arrested any of them.

Another example of Minneapolis police backing off of Somali Muslim criminal activity occurred last June in the Linden Hills community on Lake Calhoun. For three straight days a gang of Somali thugs terrorized the neighborhood, riding vehicles over lawns, shouting threats of rape and pretending to shoot people on the beach. One neighbor’s dog was beaten. Not a single arrest was made and the police chronically showed up “too late” to catch the thugs when they were called by residents.

“They are more interested in protecting their civil rights and civil liberties than protecting the local population,” Anderson said.

“What the average citizen does not know is they no longer have reliable law enforcement,” she added. “They don’t know that. Linden Hills is a perfect example of that.

“So this is a country gradually surrendering to Islamic sharia law. We are, already, incrementally surrendering. Former Obama-appointed U.S. attorney for Minnesota, Andrew Luger, several times made public statements that showed his bias toward Muslims and against non-Muslims in Minnesota. After the Somali arrests, and after the Brussels, Belgium, terrorist attack he said ‘we’re here to protect you, our Muslim friends, from Islamophobia.’”

UTT Throwback Thursday: Muslims Threaten Death for Free Speech

Understanding the Threat, by John Guandolo, May 4, 207:

On January 7, 2015, two muslim brothers – Said and Cherif Kouachi – killed 12 and wounded many others in Paris in an attack on the offices of Charlie Hebdo because they insulted Islam’s prophet.

Around the world non-Muslims are being threatened with death and killed for “insulting” Islam’s prophet Mohammad.

Why?

Because Mohammad himself commanded, condoned, and called for it.  He is the “perfect example” in Islam for muslims to follow.  His sayings and actions are recorded in the hadith.  The most authoritative hadith scholar recognized in Islam is Bukhari.

“Allah’s Messenger said, ‘Who is willing to kill Ka`b bin Al-Ashraf who has hurt Allah and His Apostle?’ Thereupon Muhammad bin Maslama got up saying, ‘O Allah’s Messenger! Would you like that I kill him?’ The Prophet said, “Yes.”  [Bukhari, Vol. 5, Book 59, Hadith 369]

And Ka’b bin Al-Ashraf was killed.

Non-Muslims who speak truth about Islam are accused of being “Islamophobes” meaning they are violating the Islamic law of “Slander” in sharia, which is to say anything about Islam or muslims a muslim would “dislike.”

Slander is a capital crime under sharia.

To “insult” a muslim is to be threatened with death for exercising the God-given right of free speech.

Charlie Hebdo jihadi Cherif Kouachi gave an interview with NBC before he was subsequently killed by French security forces.  In the interview he said:

“We are not killers. We are defenders of the prophet, we don’t kill women. We kill no one. We defend the prophet. If someone offends the prophet then there is no problem, we can kill him.”

They are simply following core teaches of Islam and its prophet.

In the Minneapolis, Minnesota the muslim population there also believes anyone who insults Mohammad should be killed.  See this video by Ami Horowitz in which he simply walks the streets of the muslim majority Cedar Riverside neighborhood asking simple questions.  Muslims, including a “nice” muslim lady, tell him those who insult the prophet should be killed (3:32 mark on video).

Its all about sharia.

Yet, local and state leaders in Minneapolis/St Paul continue to ignore the growing cancer of Islam in their community which holds these ideas and supports the sharia which calls for barbaric punishments and actions antithetical to our Constitutional republic – like killing people who “insult” Islam or its prophet.

Instead local and state officials in Minneapolis conduct outreach to muslims and condemn anyone who “insults” Islam.  This is the enforcement of the Islamic Law of Slander without stepping foot into a courtroom.

Each time UTT schedules its 3-day “Understanding and Investigating the Jihadi Network” for law enforcement around the nation, it is met with growing resistance from suit-wearing jihadis – like the terrorist group Hamas doing business as the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR).  The ACLU, the Southern Poverty Law Center, and most local and national media outlets join the jihadis (“terrorists”) in calling for our program to be shut down because it “offends” muslims.

This despite the fact UTT continues to offer to remove any information in the program that can be factually disputed.

These same threats are levied against anyone holding events around the nation speaking truthfully about the Islamic threat such as Robert Spencer, Pamela Geller, Dr. Bill Warner, and others.

These are overt threats and the ACLU, SPLC, and media are complicit in aiding and abetting terrorists in threatening citizens.

If the Department of Justice will not act to protect U.S. citizens from this obvious threat, the citizens will eventually stop waiting and take care of themselves.

Life insurance for terrorists? America’s 1st Somali legislator says ‘yes’

Ilhan Omar, a community organizer and civil rights activist, won a seat in the Minnesota state House district representing Minneapolis, defeating 44-year Democratic incumbent Phyllis Khan in the 2016 primary election and then easily beating the GOP candidate in November.

WND, by Leo Hohmann, April 21, 2017:

She burst on the scene last August when she upset a 44-year incumbent Democrat in the Minnesota state primary elections to become the nation’s first female Muslim state legislator.

Ilhan Omar, the 34-year-old community organizer who came to America as a refugee from Somalia, was touted by Democrats as a model success story.

“From a refugee camp to the State Capitol with intelligence and insight,” beamed former Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak, who endorsed Omar. “This is a wonderful story to tell as Americans, and a great source of pride for the state of Minnesota’s open arms.”

But on Thursday Omar made her mark in another way.

She was one of only two members of the Minnesota State House to vote against a bill that would allow life insurance companies to deny payouts to the beneficiaries of terrorists who die in violent attacks on Americans.

The House voted 127-2 to pass the bill, which now moves on to a vote in the State Senate.

Omar, who represents the heavily immigrant Cedar Riverside area of Minneapolis, was joined by fellow Democratic Rep. John Lesch of St. Paul in voting against the bill.

Omar’s vote sticks out because at least 42 Somali refugees have been confirmed by the FBI to have left the U.S. to join overseas terrorist organizations, including al-Shabab, the al-Qaida affiliate in Somalia, and ISIS in Syria and Iraq.

Dozens of other Somali-Americans have been tried and/or convicted of providing material support to overseas terrorists.

The Minneapolis-St. Paul area is home to the nation’s largest Somali refugee community, with other significant Somali communities in St. Cloud, Willmar, Owatonna, and Austin, Minnesota. Somali refugees are also concentrated in Columbus, Ohio; Seattle; Atlanta; San Diego; Fargo, North Dakota; and in smaller cities across Colorado, Maine, Tennessee, Kentucky, Virginia and Texas.

Omar is a strong supporter of LGBTQ rights, abortion rights and a champion of environmental justice.

Before she was elected she was an activist who often lobbied the Minneapolis City Council on progressive issues.

Since her election as a legislator she:

  • Opposed a bill to limit mass protests designed to disrupt streets, train service and airport access.
  • Has been given her own Muslim Barbie icon, the “Hijarbie.”
  • Visited her native Somalia to push for women’s leadership, raising the question of why Somali “refugees” are still pouring into the U.S. and other Western countries if the country is safe enough for former refugees to return and lobby the government for pet causes.
  • Traveled to Washington, D.C., in December for a reported White House visit when she made a Facebook post complaining about a cab driver who taunted her with “sexist and Islamophobic” comments. She said he threatened to pull off her hijab and called her “ISIS,” yet she never filed a police report.  In response to an inquiry on her Facebook page, Omar said she planned to file a report once she returned to Minneapolis, adding that she did not feel safe enough to say anything at the moment. The reply did not say whether the report would be with police, the cabdriver’s employer or possibly a civil rights organization.

The Minnesota insurance bill was introduced by Rep. Joe Hoppe, R-Chaska, in response to Syed Farook’s jihadist rampage in San Bernardino, California, in December 2015 in which he shot and killed 14 people and injured 22 at an office Christmas party. Farook made sure his life insurance policies worth $275,000 were valid before conducting the deadly shooting with help from his wife, Tashfeen Malik.

After Farook died in a shootout with police, his mother fought to remain the beneficiary of the life insurance policies. The insurance company balked and the case has gone to court.

Democratic Rep. Debra Hilstrom said the goal of the Minnesota bill “is to make certain that folks don’t benefit [from terrorism] and this limits the beneficiary to the premiums that were paid in. It limits the exposure for the insurance company when someone is committing an act of terrorism.”

Debra Anderson, leader of the ACT For America chapter in Minnesota, praised the legislators who voted for the bill Thursday.

“U.S. life insurance policies that pay out to the families of terrorists reminds me of Muslim regions, such as Palestine, that also make ‘life insurance’ payments to the families of jihadists who kill in the name of Allah.”

Anderson said Omar’s vote was reprehensible and shows where her allegiances lie.

“Rep. Ilan Omar’s vote today clearly demonstrated her allegiance to the best interests of the jihadists’ families, like in Palestine, rather than acting on the behalf of the victims of terrorists,” she said. “Disturbing to say the least.”

Anderson said the bill should have been a no-brainer for any freedom-loving American.

“This incident also clearly demonstrated the legitimate concerns of freedom-loving Americans regarding increased political access by Muslims who exhibit an obvious allegiance to Muslims and Shariah law rather than all Americans and the U.S. Constitution.

“I am very grateful for the astute, courageous legislators who are looking out for the best interests of all Minnesotans.”

If passed by the Senate and signed into law by Minnesota’s Democratic Gov. Mark Dayton, the law would apply to all current and future life insurance contracts.

WND reported last August on Omar’s political agenda and background.

Omar gave two victory speeches that night, one in English and the other in Somali. She has lived for nearly two decades in the Cedar Riverside community, a section of Minneapolis often referred to as “Little Mogadishu.” It has the highest concentration of Somali refugees of any area in the country. They have been placed there by the U.S. State Department’s refugee resettlement program and its taxpayer-funded contractors since at least 1994 and the arrivals continue to this day.

Somalis have been arriving in America at a rate of 500 to 700 a month ever since, distributed by federal resettlement contractors like Catholic Charities and Lutheran Social Services into more than 200 cities and towns for permanent resettlement.

More than 95 percent of refugees sent to America are selected by the United Nations.

Rep. Joe Hoppe, the bill’s sponsor, said terrorists “should not benefit” from taking out a life insurance policy.

“You should not be able to provide for your heirs or whoever you want by increasing your life insurance policy.”

Democratic Rep. Laurie Halverson said it was “unfortunate” these bills have to be passed but added that this safeguard will help keep insurance rates down.

“I’m very proud of Minnesota state Sen. Warren Limmer and his House counterpart, Rep. Hoppe,” former Congresswoman Michele Bachmann told WND.

“They bravely took on Minnesota’s politically correct critics who flinch at preventing beneficiaries from benefiting from terror-inspired life insurance purchases.”

Bachmann said Minnesota media have long insisted that Minnesotans should never criticize anything having to do with Islam.

“This is a refreshing move and sends a strong signal. Now the question is whether Dem Governor Mark Dayton will veto the bill.”
