U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal’s CAIR Ally Posts al-Qaida Leader’s Video

board member with the Council on American Islamic Relations’ (CAIR) Connecticut chapter reposted a video by a designated al-Qaida terrorist on his Facebook page last month and says Palestinian attacks against Israel aren’t terrorist acts. Nonetheless, U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., considers Mongi Dhaouadi his go-to guy on Muslim issues and has worked with him closely for the past six years. This relationship is particularly curious considering Blumenthal’s strong statements of support for Israel.

Dhaouadi is a man of contradictions. On one hand, he says that Islam and terror do not mix.

“These terrorist groups don’t represent our faith, do not represent our community. And so we want to make that clear to everyone who keeps saying that we don’t hear enough from the Muslim community. We say it and we say it over and over again,” Dhaouadi said in November 2015.

On the other, Dhaouadi reposted a pro-Qatar video on his Facebook page last month by Abdul Majeed Al-Zindani, a specially designated terrorist and former Osama bin Laden loyalist.

2004 Treasury Department statement calls Al-Zindani one of bin Laden’s “spiritual leaders.” He also helped buy arms for al-Qaida and other terrorists. Al-Zindani also appears on the United Nations list of specially designated terrorists.

He also served on the board of Sheikh Yusuf Qaradawi’s Hamas-funding operation known as the Union of Good, the Treasury Department said in a 2008 press release labeling it a terrorist operation. Al-Zindani’s al-Qaida connection persists; the Treasury Department noted in 2013 that he provides “religious guidance in support of [al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula] operations.”

Anwar al-Awlaki taught at Iman University in Sana’a, Yemen, an institution founded and run by Al-Zindani. Prosecutors in 2005 described Iman University as “a ‘nest for terrorism’ that exports and propagates terrorism.”

In the video Dhaouadi posted on Facebook, Al-Zindani thanked Qatar for supportingAl-Jazeera and for giving refuge to people who had been kicked out of their home countries – a likely reference to the terrorists harbored by the Gulf emirate.

That might be appealing to Dhaouadi, who has issued extreme anti-Israel statements.

After Saudi Arabia demanded that Qatar sever ties with Hamas last month, Dhaouadi accused the Saudis of “doing the bidding for the apartheid state of Israel. Selling out the Palestinian cause in the open.”

Palestinian attacks on Israelis, he has said, are not terrorist acts.

“Resisting the occupation is NOT terrorism it is a legitimate right of defending one self from your land from real terrorists i.e. IDF,” Dhaouadi wrote.

Blumenthal has condemned Palestinian terrorist attacks against Israelis.

Dhaouadi’s support for the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement against Israel also stands at odds with Blumenthal’s stated support for Israel.

Blumenthal issued a Dec. 22 statement condemning a U.N. resolution calling Israel’s West Bank settlements illegal.

“Support for Israel on this issue has been and will continue to be strongly bipartisan. Consistent with past policy, this Administration must now veto this most recent misguided and one-sided attempt backed by the Palestinian Authority to isolate Israel and weaken the peace process,” Blumenthal wrote.

Blumenthal also strongly supports U.S. aid to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), while Dhaouadi calls the IDF a “criminal force.”

“My name is Mongi Dhaouadi and I #SupportGaza because it is time we break-open Israel’s concentration camps and end the occupation,” Dhaouadi wrote in a July 2014 Facebook post.

Dhaouadi and Blumenthal’s Long Relationship

Blumenthal and Dhaouadi’s public relationship dates to 2011 when the senator spoke at CAIR Connecticut’s fundraising banquet. Dhaouadi was the chapter’s executive director.

Dhaouadi is not the only radical at CAIR Connecticut. In 2006, board member and chapter founder Badr Malik defended riots against the Danish cartoon of Islam’s prophet Muhammad.

“It’s not an overreaction in my opinion. Because it’s just like anti-Semitism is wrong, you don’t put down a religion just because you are not of that religion. It’s not supposed to be happening. Making fun of religion, making a joke of a prophet just to provoke people’s emotion, it’s not right. It’s basically bashing a religion,” Malik said.

Fellow Connecticut board member Eman Beshtawii supports the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions movement and rejects Israel’s right to exist as a Jewish state.

“If you support Israel’s ‘right to exist as a Jewish state’ in a country whose indigenous Palestinian people today form half the population, then you … must come to terms with the inevitability of massacres,” Beshtawii wrote in a 2014 Facebook post.

Blumenthal joined a rogue’s gallery of Islamic extremists on the program at the 2011 banquet. That included Imam Siraj Wahhaj, who testified in defense of 1993 World Trade Center bombing mastermind Omar Abdel Rahman, and Ahmed Bedier, a former CAIR Tampa executive who described Israel as a “terror [state].”

“I want to thank you for your friendship, for your support, for giving me the honor of being your United States senator; I am the United States senator for every single person in this room. I work for you,” Blumenthal told the CAIR audience.

He also attended Dhaouadi’s April 2013 lecture on compassion in Islam and CAIR Connecticut’s 9th annual banquet with Dhaouadi in December 2013. The banquet speaker’s list also included Wahhaj and CAIR Florida Executive Director Hassan Shibly, a radical who defended Hizballah and opposes FBI sting operations.

Last October, Blumenthal spoke at CAIR Connecticut’s 13th annual banquet with radical Islamist Linda Sarsour.

That month, Blumenthal also participated in a joint press conference with Dhaouadi and announced a plan to bring Syrian refugees into the U.S. quicker. A month later, Blumenthal again stood with Dhaouadi and CAIR Connecticut at his state’s capitol on Nov. 21 calling for stronger hate crimes laws.

Dhaouadi, like other CAIR leaders, has a history of promoting hate crimes that turn out to be false. He labeled the brutal 2012 murder of Iraqi Muslim refugee Shaima Alawadi outside San Diego a hate crime.

“She was found dead two weeks ago in her home, beaten, with a note sitting next to her that says, ‘Go back home terrorist,’ ‘Go back home terrorist,'” Dhaouadi said. “I don’t know about you, but I have two daughters who wear the head scarf and they walk down the streets and they attend the public schools in New London.”

Her husband was later convicted of the crime.

Several weeks after the hate crimes press conference, Blumenthal attended a forumon the subject at the Islamic Center of Connecticut in Windsor with Dhaouadi. During this CAIR-sponsored event, Blumenthal promised to “vigorously question” Attorney General nominee Jeff Sessions.

Blumenthal held a joint press conference with Dhaouadi in February to protest President Trump’s proposed travel ban.

“We urge the president, abandon the Muslim ban. Abandon the religious test,” Blumenthal said.

Dhaouadi’s recent pro-terrorist Facebook posts are only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to his terrorist sympathies. They wouldn’t be terribly difficult for Blumenthal’s staffers to discover.

Dhaouadi also works for the Center for the Study of Islam and Democracy (CSID), a group linked to Tunisia’s branch of the Muslim Brotherhood movement, the Ennahda Party.

He supports Ennahda Party founder Rached Ghannouchi, a member of the International Muslim Brotherhood’s Guidance Bureau. Dhaouadi’s Facebook timeline includes numerous posts featuring images of Ghannouchi or news about the cleric.

An October 2015 Facebook post shows Dhaouadi escorting Ghannouchi through the streets of Washington, D.C. Ghannouchi spoke three days earlier at an event in New York sponsored by CSID, founded by former Ennahda member Radwan Masmoudi. Dhaouadi also attended Ennahda’s congress in Tunisia in May 2016.

A Guantanamo Bay detainee report notes that Ennahda attempted to link up with other radical groups including al-Qaida during Ghannouchi’s exile in the United Kingdom in the 1990s. More recently, Ghannouchi met in August 2011 with Ansar al-Shariah founder Seif Allah Ben Hassine, better known as Abu Iyadh – a former bin Laden allysanctioned by the U.S. after 9/11. Abu Iyadh was responsible for al-Qaida’s assassination of Northern Alliance leader Ahmed Shah Masood two days before the 9/11 attacks.

Ghannouchi encouraged Tunisian Muslims to wage jihad in Syria against the Assad regime in 2014; Tunisians account for the largest contingent of foreign fighters in the country’s civil war.

Additionally, Ghannouchi’s name appears in the phone book of Youssef Nada, founder of the Muslim Brotherhood controlled Al-Taqwa Bank, which U.S. Treasury officials described as an al-Qaida and Hamas funding source.

Ghannouchi also maintains close ties with Hamas leaders such as Khaled Meshaaland has repeatedly called for Israel’s destruction. He called for the “destruction of the Jews” at a December 1990 conference in Tehran at which he also called for jihad against America.

Ghannouchi still supports terrorism against Israeli Jews; he gave a stirring endorsement of the Palestinian knife jihad, calling it a “historic opportunity to support this Intifada, support the Palestinians, and liberate Jerusalem” in a 2015 article published by Quds Press.

Pot Meet Kettle

Blumenthal castigated Attorney General Jeff Sessions for his association with Center for Security Policy founder, president and CEO Frank Gaffney and David Horowitz Freedom Center founder and CEO David Horowitz during Sessions’ January confirmation hearing.

Blumenthal wanted Sessions to disavow having called Horowitz “a man I admire.”

Blumenthal likewise asked Sessions to disavow the support that Gaffney and the Center for Security Policy gave him when they gave him an award in August 2015.

“Senator Blumenthal … has trouble distinguishing America’s defenders from her enemies,” Horowitz told the Investigative Project on Terrorism in an email.

Gaffney likewise slammed Blumenthal.

“He is so willfully blind, and so evidently under the influence of Muslim Brotherhood operatives that he is both evidently clueless about the threat they represent here in the United States, and he compounds it by castigating people who understand it far better than he does,” Gaffney said.

Blumenthal’s office did not respond to requests for comment.

His alliance with Dhaouadi is curious, given his grandstanding on Gaffney and Horowitz. If it’s bad for Sessions to like people with controversial positions, why is it okay for Blumenthal?

Trump Continues Obama DHS Policy of Engaging CAIR

IPT, by John Rossomando  •  May 17, 2017:

Donald Trump might be the president of the United States, but the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) continues to treat the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) as a credible outreach partner.

Its officials participated in DHS town hall discussions in Miami and Tampa, CAIR-Florida announced Thursday.

A discussion at Miami-Dade College included Veronica Venture, the outgoing DHS acting officer for Civil Rights and Civil Liberties, and Kareem Shora, section chief of the DHS Community Engagement Section.

Venture and Shora are both holdovers from the Obama administration.

Shora enjoys close relations with CAIR-FL, organizing multiple events with the group on DHS’s behalf. He helped organize a December training event for visiting French police officials with CAIR-FL in conjunction with the State Department.

This marks the latest example of DHS’s partnering with CAIR as a Muslim community liaison partner despite its well-documented connection to Hamas – a tie that caused the FBI to sever similar outreach in 2008. CAIR officials have worked to discourage Muslims from cooperating with the FBI.

Both Shora and CAIR oppose to President Trump’s vocal support for Israel and desire to counter Islamic terrorism.

Shora urged the U.S. to stop shipping weapons to Israel during its 2006 war with Hizballah because Lebanese civilians we “getting bombed.” As executive director of the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC), Shora claimed in 2009 that Muslim charities fell victim to “undue scrutiny” from law enforcement in the effort to cut off funding terrorist groups. He also called the portrayal of Muslims as more “vulnerable” to terrorist recruitment an “unfortunate reality.”

The two Florida DHS programs indicate that the Trump administration has yet to change course on the Obama administration’s controversial Countering Violent Extremism (CVE) program. The government has no way of telling whether these outreach programs work, the General Accountability Office (GAO) noted in an April report.

In Tampa, DHS allowed CAIR-FL Executive Director Hassan Shibly to participate in a roundtable with local law enforcement. Shibly played a key role in the December outreach event with the French police along with Shora. He also has made his share of radical statements.

He accuses FBI agents of unjustly killing a Muslim suspect who attacked them after questioning. After independent investigations found no evidence of wrongdoing, Shibly repeated the accusation and is helping the family sue the FBI.

He also opposes FBI sting operations as an “entrapment program targeting the Muslim community” and a form of tyranny that strayed away from the “great ideals of liberty, equality and justice.”

IPT EXCLUSIVE: DHS Hires CAIR to Train French Officials

The Florida chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) facilitated a training session last week for a French police delegation, in conjunction with the State Department and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS)’s Community Engagement Office in Tampa, the Investigative Project on Terrorism has confirmed with DHS officials and other agencies.

This session stands in contrast with the FBI’s 2009 policy not to engage with CAIR outside of criminal investigations due to questions about the Hamas ties of its top executives. An FBI official wrote that “until we can resolve whether there continues to be a connection between CAIR or its executives and HAMAS, the FBI does not view CAIR as an appropriate liaison partner.” That FBI policy toward CAIR remains in effect, and was publicly reaffirmed in 2013.

CAIR-Florida issued a press release Dec. 8 giving details of the event, and posted numerous photos of the French delegation on its Facebook page. The training session was devoted to showing the French officials “how to effectively challenge violent extremist individuals of all backgrounds and prevent hate crimes, while protecting civil rights and challenging profiling and discrimination,” the release said.

Several French counter-terror officials received this training, including a representative of France’s Ministry of the Interior and many police chiefs.

1915They presented Nezar Hamze, CAIR-Florida’s regional operations director, with a medallion bearing the French national colors and inscribed: “Public Safety Departmental Directorate at Bouches-du-Rhone / Discipline – Valor – Devotion.”

“We appreciated the opportunity to communicate how restricting liberty encourages hate crimes and violence and that preserving liberty and civil rights is key to preserving peace and security,” CAIR-Florida Executive Director Hassan Shibly said in the release.

This indicates that the thrust of this training was devoted to discouraging counter-terror activities within Muslim communities, which CAIR often has falsely represented as infringing upon the civil liberties of Muslims. CAIR officials repeatedly urge Muslim Americans not to cooperate with the FBI.

DHS and the State Department participated in this CAIR training of French officials despite the well-documented record of CAIR’s ties to terrorists. Internal Muslim Brotherhood records obtained by the FBI place CAIR and its founders at the core of a Brotherhood-created Hamas support network in the United States known as the Palestine Committee.

CAIR’s Powerful Ties

CAIR officials enjoyed close relations with the Obama administration despite the FBI’s evidence linking it to the Muslim Brotherhood and to Hamas. DHS/State Department coordination with CAIR is nothing new. The State Department sent CAIR officialsabroad to conduct foreign outreach.

The State Department hosted CAIR officials in October 2015 to discuss Syria and “the need … to challenge [alleged] aggressive Israeli actions targeting the Al Aqsa mosque compound, one of the holiest sites in Islam.”

Top CAIR officials repeatedly received White House invitations and participated in White House conference calls. DHS collaborates with CAIR on numerous non-public projects, and funnels anti-terrorism funds allocated by Congress.

CAIR received a sub-grant of $70, 324 from DHS in 2015, records show.

Hassan Shibly: Terrorist Apologist

Considering Shibly’s statements that Islamist ideology has nothing to do with terrorism and the rash of jihadist attacks that have rocked France since January 2015, his involvement in the training should be cause for alarm.

In an April 21, 2013 interview with OnIslam, Shibly said that, “American political scientists have made it very clear that those who commit acts of terrorism have nothing to do with religion and are often motivated by political, not religious, reasons. Actually, such attacks can never be justified and truly are nothing more than the result of having a twisted and sick mind.”

In a June 2014 blog post, Shibly argued that the purported “FBI entrapment program targeting the Muslim community” was an example of tyranny that strayed away from the “great ideals of liberty, equality and justice.”

In his view, the FBI manufactures terrorists through sting operations such as that against Sami Osmakac, convicted in 2014 on charges of attempted use of a weapon of mass destruction and possession of a fully automatic firearm.

“I’m concerned that the government’s own tactics turned him into a greater threat than he could have been on his own,” Shibly told the Tampa Tribune in a June 3, 2014 article. “There’s no need to enable a Hollywood-style plot … Would Osmakac have had the ideas and the means to do this crime but for the government informant?”

Shibly also is helping a family sue the FBI, alleging an agent unjustly shot and killed a friend of Boston Marathon bomber Tamerlan Tsarnaev after hours of questioning in his Orlando home in 2013.

Independent investigations, requested by CAIR, completed by the Justice Department and a Florida state attorney found that Ibragim Todashev, a “skilled mixed-martial arts fighter,” attacked the agent shortly after acknowledging involvement in a separate triple-murder case in Massachusetts. Todashev continued charging after being shot, prompting the agent to fire more.

Shibly rejected the findings, saying only Todashev could “contradict the government’s narrative,” but he was dead.

Kareem Shora: CAIR’s Ally at DHS

CAIR-Florida posted this image of Hassan Shibly and Kareem Shora at the French delegation program.

CAIR-Florida posted this image of Hassan Shibly and Kareem Shora at the French delegation program.

According to a source, Kareem Shora played a key role in organizing the French delegation’s CAIR training. Shora serves with the Homeland Security Advisory Council (HSAC) and a Community Liaison Council with the Office of the Director of National Intelligence.

He has a long record of denying the nature and magnitude of the jihad threat. Last July, for example, Shora claimed that it was an “unfortunate reality” that Muslims were portrayed as “more vulnerable” to “potential recruitment to terrorist activities…including those represented by Daesh.” Instead of devising ways to counter this “unfortunate reality,” Shora said that the DHS was trying to “promote the notion” that Muslims were no more likely than anyone else to be recruited into terror organizations:

“It’s not because they’re Muslims. They represent nothing of Islam. Daesh represents nothing of Islam or a state for that matter, quote unquote. So I think our position, as U.S. government, is to advocate that point every opportunity we get. And from a Homeland Security perspective, in order to build a society that’s resilient to all threats, regardless of the nature of that threat, our job is to make sure that these communities don’t end up being categorized as being vulnerable, because they are in fact the ones most suffering as a result of those attacks.”

Shora helped leading Islamist figures attend DHS meetings, including Salam al-Marayati of the Muslim Public Affairs Council and, Ingrid Mattson of the Islamic Society of North America, records obtained by the IPT through the Freedom of Information Act show.

DHS could have turned to any number of organizations and people to work with the French delegation. Choosing an Islamist group whose ties to a terrorist group rendered it persona non grata with the FBI is either a sign of dangerous incompetence or institutional arrogance.

“Interfaith Outreach” Movement Led by Marxists and Jihadis

UTT, by John Guandolo, Nov. 3, 2015:

Two weeks ago the Parliament of the World’s Religions held its annual conference at the Salt Lake City Convention Center boasting “10,000 People. 80 Nations. 50 Faiths.”  Representing Islam were the Muslim Brotherhood and Saudi Arabia.  That alone tells a story, but the presence of Marxists/Alinskyists and Muslim Brotherhood organizations funded primarily by Saudi Arabia driving the “Interfaith Outreach” efforts in America is a stark reminder that well-intentioned people are being duped by those with a dark agenda using the guise of “togetherness” and “tolerance” to achieve nefarious ends.

The key speakers representing Islam at the Parliament of the World’s Religions were Sheikh Salah Abdullah bin Humaid, Chief Justice and Imam of the Grand Mosque in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, and Tariq Ramadan, the grandson of Hassan al Banna, the founder of the Muslim Brotherhood.

Abdullah bin Humaid was also the head of the Fiqh Assembly of the Muslim Brotherhood’s World Muslim League in Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia’s official legal system is the Sharia (Islamic Law) including the Hudud punishments – stoning for adultery, beheading for those who apostacize from Islam, cutting off hands of thieves – which directly contradicts all Western understanding of human rights.  Those Hudud punishments come directly from the Allah in the Quran.

Also featured as a speaker at the Parliament’s event was Saudi lap-dog and apologist for Islam and the Muslim Brotherhood, John L. Esposito of Georgetown University’s Prince Alwaleed bin Talal Center for Muslim-Christian Understanding.  Bin Talal is one of the wealthiest Saudi princes in the world and funds the global jihad to the tune of millions of dollars annually.

Funny, I thought Georgetown was a Catholic University.

ramadan-300x300

Tariq Ramadan, International face of the Muslim Brotherhood and grandson of the MB founder

Tariq Ramadan continues to travel the world with a smile on his face fooling Western leaders, especially religious leaders, who view him as a nice man with a peaceful message.  Yet, as one of the leading faces for the International Muslim Brotherhood, he supports Civilization Jihad to overthrow un-Islamic governments and replace them with Sharia because that is the Muslim Brotherhood’s stated goal.

The Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA), the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) and affiliates of these organizations are the key drivers of the U.S. Interfaith movement. ICNA is a part of the Muslim Brotherhood’s U.S. efforts; ISNA is a Hamas support entity; and CAIR is a Hamas organization according to evidence in the largest terrorism financing and Hamas trial ever successfully prosecuted in U.S. history (US v HLF, Dallas 2008).

“Left-wing religious” organizations like the Virginians Organized for Interfaith Community Engagement (VOICE) are directly partnered with the Saul Alinsky organization the Industrial Areas Foundation (IAF). The VOICE website is directly tied to IAF – http://www.voice-iaf.org.  VOICE dutifully follows the guidance provided by the Muslim Brotherhood Islamic Centers with which they work.

Saul Alinsky (photo 1965), Marxist Revolutionary, Author of Rules for Radicals dedicated to Lucifer

Saul Alinsky was a Marxist revolutionary whose book Rules for Radicals details how to penetrate and overthrow societies.  It was dedicated to Lucifer.  [note:  President Obama studied Alinsky’s lessons and became a “community organizer” – a term coined directly from Rules for Radicals].

Why is it so difficult for Christian leaders to understand Islam?

Islam divides the world into two parts: the Dar al Islam (the house of Islam) where Sharia is the law of the land, and the Dar al Harb (the house of war) – everywhere else.  The purpose of Islam is to eliminate the Dar al Harb until the entire world is under the Dar al Islam and Sharia.  Then there is “peace.”

The vehicle to accomplish this is called “Jihad.”

The Sharia unanimously states lying to non-Muslims is obligatory in the pursuit of obligatory goals. Jihad is obligatory, and 100% of all Islamic Law only defines jihad as “warfare against non-Muslims.”

In Islam, Mohammed is considered the “insan al kamil” or “the perfect man.” Mohammed himself said, “I have been commanded to fight the people until they testify that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, and perform the prayer, and pay zakat (agreed upon by Al-Bukhari and Muslim on the authority of Ibn `Umar).” Then Mohammed waged war against non-Muslims.

When Christians conduct “outreach” to Muslim communities, they must know the ground truth about what they are getting into, especially when they send others in to do this kind of work.

Should Saudi Arabia, the Muslim Brotherhood, and Marxist Revolutionaries drive American “Interfaith Outreach?”  Whether they should or shouldn’t is not truly the point.  Currently, they are.

In his seminal work, Strength to Love, the Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr. admonished Christians to be tough minded and discerning in their approach to evil. “This prevalent tendency toward soft mindedness is found in man’s unbelievable gullibility…Soft mindedness often invades religion…Soft-minded persons have revised the Beatitudes to read, ‘Blessed are the pure in ignorance: for they shall see God.’”

It is time for the flock to demand their pastors speak the truth about Islam, no matter the cost.
